got the nachos with chicken today, it was bland and disgusting the chicken had cinnamon spice in it, the cheese was a placebo effect just there for decoration threw this out after 3 bites. Never eating here again. Even taco bell fast food is superior to this. went to the urban Space location on vanderbuilt

I would say the price a bit high for this much portion of food. Big flavorful lunch during workdays is what I live for, so I a little disappointed.

Stopped by while browsing Chelsea Market, and the experience was pretty good. Got the bento special(recommended to me by the staff) and I got the spicy tuna and the carnitas with the charred corn salad. The spicy tuna was pretty good, only mildly spicy, in a crispy shell some veggies and sesame seeds. The carnitas was better, had pork and tomatilla salsa. Only downside was that the salsa spilled out when I went to eat it. The corn salad was okay, although I found out after I started eating that it had Brussel sprouts(not my favorite) so I’d love to try another one of their salads. Final verdict, definitely want to go again and try some more things.

One of my favorite lunch places. The short ribs tacos are delicious! I always get to sushi and you can’t go wrong. The chips and guac are probably my favorite sides. I try to come here at least week. The food is fresh and the teas are my favorite. Always natural and fresh. The service is always quick and I enjoy the Latin music.

I didn’t at their Chelsea Market location, but I just had it at Madison Sq eats and i enjoyed it so much i HAD to leave a review. I had the bento box with the Japanese Curry Beef and Spicy Chipotle shrimp. I enjoyed both of my tacos soo much! The beef was filled with shredded beef that was flavored well and compined with the shell it was the . The Shrimp could have had more filing but i also thought it was delicious. Overall very yummy and satisfying. The bento box was a good deal($ 12 for 2 tacos a side and green salad) for the area we’re in. I’ll be back ;)

Had the sapporo braised short rib taco(x2), spicy tuna taco and the chipotle shrimp taco. The fusion of taste is amazing and the ingredients are so fresh! Oh and please do yourself a favor and order the peach tea!

This place is pretty much Meh… The line for the Thai place across the way was too long for me to wait so I decided to try this place after passing it for a while and being curious how it was. I was expecting intriguing flavors and a lot more chicken but what I got was bland and not filling. I ordered the ginger chicken burrito bowl and I regret not just going to Chipotle where I could have received a larger portion and better taste for two dollars less… Maybe I need to try one of the tacos or something to get the full effect of the place but very disappointed with what I ordered.

Last week I had Takumi Taco and this week I had Los Tacos #1 in Chelsea Market. While Los Tacos was cheaper and for some reason really highly rated, I much preferred Takumi. Much more complex and flavorful, better guacamole, and way more filling. I will definitely save up and splurge at Takumi before I return to the other joint. Cannot wait to go back.

Food would have been overpriced even if it was good. But it was quite mediocre. Poor ingredients and flat flavors… more spicy mayo than tuna pieces. Corn salad was just… really not good. Veggie Teriyaki bowl was swimming in Teriyaki while the tofu pieces seemed like they had just been thrown in at the end… they were still cold.

Some foods go together like PB&J… After trying Takumi Taco, I’m not sure if Japanese and Mexican food go together that well. Got a bento box with two tacos(spicy tuna and sapporo braised short rib) and a side of chips & salsa. The tacos were small but pretty tasty — the spicy tuna was definitely more unique and satisfying than the short rib taco. The spicy tuna taco came in a hard shell, and was basically spicy tuna poke in a small hard shell taco. Small, but it was yummy! The braised short rib taco was just alright, nothing too special there. The salad that came with the bento was pretty small, but the side of chips and salsa was very generous. Overall, I thought the food was alright but the two different cuisines don’t complement each other as well as, say, Mexican and Korean food. Japanese food is often subtle in flavor, which is often completely the opposite of the flavorful Mexican cuisine(which is why everyone loves Kalbi tacos, yummmm). Analysis aside, Takumi Taco is worth a try for what it is.

Just to note this review is for the Takumi Taco stand at the Mad. Sq. Eats festival in midtown. I ordered the chicken burrito bowl and it’s amazingly delicious. I ordered it with extra chicken and boy was there a lot of it! So so so yummy. The lady at the register taking orders was super sweet. She gave the lady ahead of me a free sample because it was her birthday. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was the lack of veggies. The menu listed a lot of them so I was expecting a lot but the amount of each veggie was less than a spoonful. Had I not ordered extra chicken it would literally have been a plate of rice w chicken on top like halal food carts. The veggies and beans ended up being more of a garnish. Overall still pretty yummy.

A very satisfying option for those of us in West Chelsea. The menu is innovative, and the flavors are great. I highly recommend the yellowtail taco. Prices are a little high, but given its location, this food truck can maintain these prices without losing much business. I only wish the portions were a little bit bigger.

Japanese-Mexican taco fusion thing. I had a beef curry taco, served with red cabbage on what seems to be a rice cracker taco shell. Tasty but a little pricy at 5 bucks a taco.
