TLDR: — Dependable coffee as is dependable staff. Thanks for the free coffee on blizzard day.

YUM! Came here on the recommendation of Jake from the bike shop around the corner. Great coffee and delicious snacks. The vegan brownie didn’t even taste like vegans and my lemon poppy loaf was not too sweet like they are too often. Keep it up guys. Really great.

My husband and I have been here twice, having a delightful time. This is a great place to hang out, read a book, get some work done on your laptop, or simply people /dog watch. Major bonus: they have a foosball table — made me feel like a kid again(and I beat my husband, so extra point for me). The whole staff is friendly, the vegan brownie bites are mega fabulous, the wi-fi signal is strong(even with 5 – 6 people on their laptops), and they really don’t care how long you hang out. This is officially my favorite coffee shop in Williamsburg!

Best place with the best coffee and some very genuinely nice people that staff the place. Super knowledgable and helpful with other places to visit while in Brooklyn. Was my first time there so I obviously had to get voodoo child which did not disappoint at all. The only bad thing I can think of is the fact that I had to get in my car to drive back to Philadelphia right after. Can’t wait to come back, thank you :)

I’d love this place if the white people didn’t talk about how amazing gentrification is and didn’t do things like bring the sugar from the milk bar to their table(and keep it there) — aside from that, the staff, pastries, and wifi are all A1.

The voodoo child is amazing! Also a fan of the scones. This place is a gem. Why isn’t this chain in Manhattan already!!!

I very much enjoyed our brief stop for iced coffees. I had the Voodoo Child, my wife had a regular one which she pronounced as properly strong. Tried one of the doughnut holes and it was pretty good. A cheesy scone(rosemary asiago?) looked great, but there was only one left so I let it go. There’s a nice ambiance, ample seating and a foosball table. Only gripe is with the small, single bathroom, with the note about the funky lighting. Not sure if the A/C was on but it was a little stuffy as well.

Great place to stop for coffe which has a fooseball table to kill some time. The lines are fairly long and takes about 5 – 10 minutes to get our coffee. It has limited seating.

It is set inside a nice large red brick building, and large windows. In the inside, it has lots and lots of seating, cool décor, nice big open space. It has blend of big comfy chairs, European café seating and communal tables. We ordered Rocket Fuel and Voodoo Child, which were both pre-made in bulk… disappointing, and they were not that great either. Read my full review of this place on my food blog, foodlovergirl.

I’m so glad that these kind of coffee places exist. There is a awesome vibe here along with awesome group of people behind the counter as well as sitting in the dining tables. You have a lot of options when it comes to sitting — on the couches, on the chairs with the marble tables, or the high tops with the bar stools. I had the voodoo child drink and it was amazing!!! The viet coffee does not disappoint! It’s strong and creamy — a real punch in the face — exactly what I need on a hot summer day. Baristas are knowledgable and friendly — not snobby, thank God! The place shares with a office called Modern Spaces — I wish I worked there… just for the coffee at Sweetleaf! Will try and come back. These are the places where your creative juices will definitely flow.

Met a friend here for a quick chat. I noticed how it would be the perfect spot to sip on a mocha latte and write a best-selling novel. Okay, maybe just a short story that you want published in the New Yorker. I drank the mocha latte and it was filling and perfect for a rainy day. The New Yorker has yet to reject my story.

I thoroughly enjoyed the iced latte and ice mocha here. They were well prepared and tasted great. The atmosphere was also extremely pleasant with old school RnB playing in the background. Good atmosphere to do work/chill on a Sunday afternoon.

Great lattes, super friendly staff. No doubt I’d visit again. The only down side is that the café is so far away from the train station, so it’s a walk and you might be distracted by the other local coffee shops on the way there as you’re headed to this place. I’d recommend getting the punch card. For every 10 drinks, you get one free. Hooray!

Found this place to relax in before heading off to a show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg down the block. Cool, cozy coffee shop. Got a cappuccino and chocolate chip cookie. The espresso is good quality, and the cookie was not a disappointment(and huge) – buttery, solid crumb with just enough moisture to eat alone, or dunk into your coffee. Enjoyed both. We’ll be back when in the area.

First review of my Unilocal journey. I could not help but make my first review. This place is just so damn awesome: nice baristas, flavorful coffee, awesome snacks, and amazing space. Definitely give this place a try!

Very pleasant environment. Cozy atmosphere. Calm enough to hold a conversation, read a book etc. Their cup of hot chocolate actually uses Mast Bros. Chocolate!

Occasionally on weekends I work at a trunk-show space(s/o to Artists & Fleas) a few blocks away. Rocketfuel has become a crack epidemic for my fellow vendors. At 10:00am we’ve all got one in hand. It’s an electric jolt of chicory, sweet cream and strong cold brew. Friendly(and speedy!) counter-staff Tons of vegan/non-vegan pastry options Enormous bags of ‘day olds’ for $ 4.00 and my favourite part: Loyalty Punch-Cards With my Rocketfuel addiction, I’ve been through several of them.

Their drinks are pretty good and there’s plenty of space, but it’s actually not a good place to sit down and work despite giving off that appearance. I lugged over my laptop only to find that none of the outlets were working, except one positioned awkwardly by a very tall shelf. I saw that other people were frustrated with that too. I don’t mind when coffee shops don’t have Wi-Fi or outlets as long as they’re upfront about it. But to have Wi-Fi and outlets that aren’t functioning? That’s just a tease. The seating is also a little uncomfortable. They do have a few couches in the back so everyone was on their laptops, yet facing each other. It’s located right by the waterfront, so it might be better to just grab one of their strong iced coffees and enjoy it out there.

Sweetleaf is one of my favorite cafes that I’ve discovered in NYC. They share a space with Modern Spaces real estate company and the ambiance is incredibly open and spacious. I’ve been here a few times on both weekdays and weekends to do work on my laptop, and there are always open seats(a welcome change from the crowded cafes in Manhattan!) Their coffee is pretty solid, and their strawberry iced tea is just plain amazing — a perfect mix of sweet and tart, with little bits of strawberry. The baristas are all very friendly as well. The only downside to this place is a lack of outlets, so I guess you can’t stay here very long if you need to charge your laptop. But other than that, Sweetleaf is awesome.
