Got the ham and gruyère croissant for a quick breakfast snack. Not an exaggeration when I say that the ham was quite literally nonexistent — I had one ~inch long, narrow strip(akin to a pH test strip). Croissant itself was OK, but was a little overcooked with crunch and excess flaking.

Despite its name, I’ve only ever gotten savory things from here(maybe because I stop by in the mornings). The spinach croissant is quite good, but can get a bit soggy depending on the time of day you buy it.

DELICIOUS Belgian hot chocolate. Yes, a tad overpriced, but it’s seriously so perfect on a cold fall/winter day. The chocolate is so rich you feel like you’re drinking joy and happiness and unicorn tears. Yes, it’s loaded with sugar but worth every calorie/sugar gram. Also had a snickerdoodle and it was very underwhelming.

Ya know what…5 stars! Possibly a 4.5 but lets go with a 5. YUMMY…TASTY… SATISFYINGTHATSWEETTOOTH Y’ALL! Bought a bunch of stuff from this truck today to share with my boyfriend. And ya know it was just all awesome. The flavors were incredible… everything was fresh… food was at a good temperature for being in a glass case in the sun… and the lady working the truck was just a doll! Caught it today over on 17th street right before union square. I really hope i do not pass it again because it is going to be hard not to buy everything. I got a varied of different cookies and bars… all amazing… i can not wait to try the cupcakes… the only thing that kind of bothered me for a few of the cookies were the sweetness level. Now I am a fan of sweet, I am the queen of it. However a few of the cookies were so sweet that i could tell a difference in my heart rate… that worried me lol… but then other cookies would be just perfect… And …do not get me started on the carmel cookie sandwich thing i had… might be one of the best cookies i have ever had… literally ever. this truck was sent by the devil to turn us all into diabetics… its winning… winning so good.

I’ve decided that this is hands down the best coffee I’ve had in NYC. Each day half of what keeps me awake on the subway ride to work is knowing I’m going to get the coffee from this truck. I’ve had the croissants(plain and chocolate), the brownies, and the orange cream brioche, all of which are awesome(although I would put Pret a Manger’s chocolate croissant above this one), but the coffee is definitely what I look forward to the most. I should add that I’m not a morning person ATALL, and these guys are a perfect balance of friendly and fast, which is exactly what I need when I am sleepwalking to work. The quality, service, and the stamp card make this one of my absolute favorites of the many trucks out there!

I love the idea of a dessert truck. You always see street meat trucks, sandwich trucks, ice cream trucks, but never dessert trucks. Sweetery offers lots of different sweet goodies but my all time favorite treat is the Macarella. Gooey nutella sandwiched in between a flat coconut macaroon. Yes, macaroon(the traditional passover dessert), not to be confused with macaron(the french meringue-based cookie).

Still a fan and the sight of this cheerful truck still perks me up on a cold winter day. Almond croissants make me stop and be late to the office cuz well… they’re worth it :) Smiles, delish pastries and a stamp later… hump day doesnt seem so bad anymore…

*Castello Alps Selection Review* –3.5 stars because it was FREE with friendly service! –Saw this truck in front of Palladium with almost no line. I’m thinking«Sure why not, let’s give it a try. Can’t be more than $ 7 right?» Guess what, its FREE! Yes, free cheese and crackers! –After getting my free samples and taking photos like an Elite Unilocaler, I noticed the line was practically blocking the whole sidewalk. The line got long fast! Cheese from most favorite: –Weissbier was my favorite! The texture was slightly soft with a smooth and somewhat creamy consistency. I could definitely taste teh hint of nutty sweetness. –Hirten was a bit tougher cheese due to the crumbly texture. Salty with some hints of sweet caramel overtone –Bergkase was bleh. Too firm and odd flavors of mountain herbs.

Almost made my «MEH» list but barely squeaked by. This truck is occasionally parked at 86th street on the UES over the weekends and decided to give it a try a few days ago. Iced coffee for $ 2.50 was as good as anywhere else. Not bad. Snickerdoodle cookie for $ 2.00 that was a decent size but nothing mind blowing about the taste. It was ok. Biggest disappointment was the pretty lame seasonal pumpkin whoopie pie. For a waste of $ 2 this thing was actually small and flavorless. There was not a burst of pumpkin flavor as I was expecting. I might have well been chewing on a piece of cardboard with some cream filling. Guy working the truck seemed nice enough and I realize how hard it is to run your own business. They even have a loyalty card for the truck which is pretty cool. As far as food trucks go I guess this one is a A-OK if looking for a quick snack and coffee while on your way somewhere else.

The July 2012 sweet treats challenge has pushed me to give Sweetery a try. I see the truck parked outside my office now and then, so I figured today was the day to see what it’s all about. I got one snicker doodle cookie and a red velvet whoopie pie. The whoopie pie is not sweet at all; in fact, I don’t really taste much of anything to tell you honestly. So that one is a pass for me. The snicker doodle cookie was okay. I liked how it was soft, and it was a decent size for $ 2, but not really enough to blow me away. Next!

I started coming to this truck before they changed their name. I kept forgetting my card though so now I have 5 – 6 different cards w/a couple stamps on each =X. The workers are very nice, make great recommendations, and I haven’t gotten anything yet that I wasn’t pleased with. The prices can be a bit steep, but you get what you pay for.

Not impressed. The truck was parked outside my office, so I thought I’d grab a small dessert and got a chocolate chip cookie. To be totally honest, I was expecting a pretty good cookie, especially since it wasn’t that big and cost $ 1.50. Not impressed at all. The cookie was dense, having a poor chocolate: dough ratio. It didn’t crumble but was still pretty dry. And it didn’t taste that good. Like at all. Betty Crocker makes better cookies. And I can make 2 dozen for only $ 3. Won’t be going back, no matter where the truck is parked.

I grabbed a couple of snacks from here when the truck was at Union Square a couple weekends ago. Sticking with the basics, I got a brownie and a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was a little bit on the crunchy side, but it’s pretty good — less on the sugary /buttery side, but decent overall and well-sized for $ 1.50. The brownie was a little more inconsistent… it’s more like a fudge brownie than a brownie that has a breaded texture, but it had some pockets of flavor that were off from the rest of it. I’m not sure if the batter wasn’t evenly mixed /distributed when it was baked, but it was one of the more inconsistent brownies I’ve had. I also wasn’t a fan when I gave the guy in the truck a $ 20 bill and was asked what bill I gave him… The truck is decent, and I may try some of their other goods, but all in all I’ve been to better dessert trucks around the city.

First off, let me say that every time I have come to this truck, my food has been free. YAY! Anyways, I have had the blueberry whoopie pie and the red velvet whoopie pie and O. M. G… freaking amazing. I don’t care how unhealthy that stuff is, but I can’t get enough of it. It probably tastes 298342 times better because it was free, but hell I’d pay for one if I ever saw the truck. So flavorful and soft and moist and the filling is deeeeeeelish! I also had the hot apple cider — it was okay, just a little bit on the too-sweet side for me.

This truck was randomly parked on the UWS. I decided to try it during my break, cause hey, it’s here! Got the Flourless Chocolate Walnut Cookie to try. $ 2.25 for a pretty big sized WARM cookie. Point for the warmth! It was beyond chewy with an ok not too sweet flavor. There wasn’t much oomph for the cookie and I was disappointed. Also minus points for the lack of hospitatlity/customer service. I know you’re serving in a truck but no smile, no sign of help, nothing at all! Not very appealing. I don’t think I would spend my money here again. I love sweets too :(

Just had the free whoopie pies from Tenka. Did it make me go whoopieeeeeee? Sort of. The chocolate was ok, but the pumpkin really hit the spot. It’s bigger & better than the other posers, so that was a plus. I just wonder how their cupcakes are…

Free whoopie pie alert: Free whoopie pie you say? Yes! Don’t mind if i do! I really don’t like these trucks because they’re so hard to find and always seem to disappear when you’re out looking for them. The whoopie pie they sell here actually is pretty good. I would say it’s a moon pie without the chocolate covering. I think the pumpkin tastes better than the chocolate. The mix of cinnamon and spice is a really good combo. If you’re looking for them, I wish you luck. I tried a few times and the twitter feed didn’t update fast enough to let us know they were going home early or not coming out due to bad weather.

I use Twitter for two basic reasons: to read up on Kayne’s crazy rants and to follow a mass assortment of food trucks throughout the city. I follow some more closely than others, and Sweetery NYC(née Sweet Streets) is one I keep my eagle eye on. Let me put it this way: I didn’t HAVE to go to David’s Bridal today to pick up a dress for a friend’s wedding. I could have done it at any point this upcoming week. But when I saw the truck would be in front of the Trader Joe’s down the street, the craving kicked in and it could not be denied. It had to fed, squelched, SATISFIED with a pumpkin whoopie pie and a cup of hot apple cider. I did just that. All was right with the world. I haven’t had a bad pastry there. I tend to stick to my favorites, however. I can vouch for the croissants filled with Nutella and the aforementioned pumpkin whoopie pies. Their apple cider is almost perfection and always perfectly hot. Stalk ya later, Sweetery NYC. Nine more visits until my next free dessert. That may be completed by week’s end, if I’m feeling gluttonous.(So…it will be completed by week’s end. Ha!)

Wish I would have looked them up on Unilocal first; I would have bought a whoopie cookie! Randomly came across Street Sweets & couldn’t decide what to try! After a quick game of eenie meanie miney mo, I ended up with a red velvet cupcake. The cupcake was good: creamy thick frosting, moist cake, easy to peel off wrapper, and cute smush protector ring(see uploaded photo). The owners of this tidy mobile bakery seem just as sweet as their Street Sweets. With all of their attention to detail Street Sweet’s hard work is apparent; there is no doubt in my mind that they choose the best organic ingredients that they can find. Date Rating: N/A Pick up Scale: N/A Strong Suggestion: don’t forget a whoopie cookie!
