How is this place still in business, when they have mediocre Thai food, and miserable Sushi??? I don’t get it. I can’t wait for this place to shut down, and become… anything else. OK, anything but another mediocre Asian fusion joint in LIC!

I eat a lot of sushi. I live in the area. I will never go back to or order from sushi siam again. The rice is poorly seasoned, and the service isnt great. There are much better options in the area — Shi is one of my favorites, and I dont think it is anywhere on par with this place. Save your money. If you want sushi go to shi, if you want thai go to tuk tuk. I hope they close so something better can fill the prime spot.

Was just in here for lunch. There was no server, but the chef came out and took our order. Then the waitress arrived and refused to give us the appetizer that was supposed to come with the lunch special because we had been given dinner portions… AT1INTHEAFTERNOON! $ 17& change for 2 little dishes of noodles. Don’t bother with this place.

I only tried this place once and it wasn’t bad. They sold sushi as well but everyone I was with ordered Thai. Extra 5 stars for letting a group of 6 people come in when you were getting ready to close. I ordered the chicken pad thai. I enjoyed it but it was a little on the tangy side, like if there was too much tamarind in the sauce. Regardless it was still good. I was worried that it was going to be too dry for me but it came out perfect.

So my order consisted of two sodas, Brown rice, Fried Soft Shell Crab, Pad Se Ew w/shrimp, Massaman Curry w/tofu, Pad Thai w/shrimp and Edamame. First of all the bill came to $ 51.99 w/tip. We ordered the food online. Boy oh boy I never tasted food like this so bad. The pad thai was horrible I recommend you order from BANY on Jackson ave. The portions were smaller then what was expected. BANY gives you a larger amount. I love Thai food and had it from a lot of places. I wish I would have seen other peoples reviews before ordering my food. The Pad Se Ew was well ewww as the name states on the menu. Something with that name should have been a red flag. I literally had to spit out some broccoli because it did not taste right. The Massaman dish was on point… it could have been a lot better/more creamy but call me bias because I am used to the way Indian people make it. I’ve never had bad edamame in my life. But I guess there is a first time for everything. I will admit tho the soft shell crab was good but just good. Not $ 8.00 good it was just one crab cut in half. For that $ 51.99 I should have just ordered from BANY but I wanted to give this place a try. NEVERAGAIN. The only thing that came the way it was suppose to taste was the soda. I feel horrible saying this but some food did get tossed in the trash. BANY can be pricey at times but I say its worth it now that I had this place. BUYERBEWARE!!!

The one I keep coming back to This is my favorite Thai place in LIC. They have really good coconut chicken soup, and the vegetable soup is pretty good too. The mango shrimp salad is delicious and they make excellent Pad Thai. The staff is really friendly and the prices are not bad either. Sushi Siam is not a trendy restaurant but one thing for sure is the food is always fresh and delicious. I go at least once a week. Ive been to the other Thai restaurant in the area, they are very trendy but the food is horrible or too expensive.

the rolls and the pad thai are fantastic. BANY’s sushi rice is all mushy and soggy but Sushi Siam’s rice is perfect. stay away from the donburi bowls, not so good.

Perfect place for LIC! I wish there were more like it around. LIC has an abundance of Asian restaurants but this one really sticks out. The food is amazing(whether you eat there or get it delivered). My wife and I get it maybe 2 or 3 times a month at least. It’s very well priced(probably the cheapest in the area) and the quality of food(along with the size of portions) is great. Their Pad Thai is the best around(blows near-by Tuk Tuk out of the water). Their sushi is on the cheaper side and high quality. I’m a huge fan of their spicy tuna and must say that it blows rivals out of the water(including near-by Shi(which is drastically overpriced and bland). The owner can be quite grumpy but if they keep making food like this he can be as grumpy as he wants. I highly recommend it for anyone who even passes through LIC.

The food here is terrible. No wonder we were the only customers in the whole restaurant. The food is not cheap compare to other japanese restaurants in queens, and the portion is small. The seafood is not fresh at all. The service is super slow. I will never go back to that restaurant.

I have ordered takeout from Sushi Siam three times. It’s convenient for me to pick up food from there on my way home. I was not impressed with the dumplings or the Tom Ka Gai soup. However, I thought the Pad Thai was decent. The Panang curry was also decent, but did not have enough sauce. They are always quick and efficient. I have never seen anyone actually dining in the restaurant. While I might continue to order from Sushi Siam occasionally, I sort of wish they would move out so something much better could take it’s place.

Ordered delivery from Sushi Siam. Ordered the Panang Curry Lunch Special with Tofu. It came at a decent time. However, they forgot part of my order. I really didn’t want to put in the effort to call(it was a $ 4 item), so I decided just to write the place off and never order from then again. Suprisingly, the delivery person came back maybe 15 – 20 minutes later with my missing item without me even having to call. With my anger subsided from the missing item event, I decided that I would give the place a chance and write an honest review. The thai food is very very tasty. THERE’S JUSTNOTENOUGHOFIT! I had like 6 pieces of tofu in my curry w/not much sauce to speak of. You gotta have loads of sauce when you order curry. How else can I douse my rice? I also ordered a sushi roll… which has remained in my fridge, because I was somewhat turned off by the aroma. Maybe I just wasn’t in a sushi mood. But, it didn’t do it for me. I vow to stay faithful to Tuk Tuk for my Thai cravings from now on when in LIC.

One thing I can’t stand is when I order take out is to find out the rice they gave me is the tiny portion and the rice here was even smaller! Petri dish sized. My fried tofu was weirdly watery but my thai spring rolls were really good. My Priew Wan(string bean and chicken dish) tasted a lot like basil chicken but not as good. The app portions were normal but my entrée portion was about half the size as normal. I’ll pass on this next time, I usually eat at Gaw Gai which is much better but they close too early. I will try tuk tuk next.

After a few years, they did exactly what most crappy restaurants do after they feel established. At the beginning they were great and the staff was very friendly. I learned that the owner was also in the kitchen cooking and though he’s not a pleasant man or ever addresses the customers one can tell he was mean to the staff and not interested in keeping the restaurant’s quality and clientele. For one he reduced his staff when the restaurant became desolate. I live just a few blocks away and I noticed that this corner restaurant, on the perfect and most profitable spot in all of LIC was empty. The prices began to climb and the quality to degrade. I used to go with my entire family simply for the sushi. It was very fresh, and they offered vegetarian sushi, but then I noticed that they began to cut back on the options and the bar did not appear well cared for AFTER he got rid of his sushi chef, a very nice young man that was very attentive to the preparation. One day I show up and find the owner switching hats and uniforms and standing there making the sushi rolls. He might have figured out the technique from watching his former employee, but that doesn’t make him a good chef or a good manager. For one fish needs to be fresh and secondly you cannot cut corners when it comes to raw fish and presentation of the food. Pretty much the food looks like it’s from a typical Chinese restaurant, greasy, overly packed with shit and the sushi terrible. That’s one problem. But for me as a customer when I notice that a restaurant mistreats their workers by yelling at them, demeaning them, belittling them and not keeping the employees that are clearly the backbone of your operations, that you don’t deserve my money. It’s a shame this was one of the only affordable sushi places in LIC. The other one like BANY, an overpriced Chinese restaurant on Jackson and the Shawan or whatever it’s called(cause I can’t understand the writing from their«fancy» and«original» logo) are simply overpriced as if they were in Manhattan or something and truly not as diverse when it comes to the food options. It’s the same greasy shit, same meals with chicken, beef and pork and nothing that stands out as their own dish that would make me want to spend the money to go there. For that I jump on the 7 train 1 stop and head to the upper 40’s for a real authentic Japanese meal at an affordable price.

9:20 my friends and i arrive 9:40 i get up and get us menus 9:55 we get water/order 10:20ish we get our food 11 we get our check… If i lived near by this place would get 4 stars. The food is great, cheap, and filling. Why 2 stars? The service is discussing! The delivery guy came and went about 6 times, bringing yumminess to the front doors of others. I sat there green eyed and thirsty because the waitress just never came back! Never again, we were the only people in the place, that should have been a sign.

Standard Asian style fare with a twist. Bang Bang shrimp appetizer is a surefire pleaser. The Thai soups are good but the flavors are a bit on the bland side. The mains are acceptable with the Chinese dishes being a slight bit better than the Thai or Japanese ones. Quizzically, the delivery service is actually FASTER than the table service. Take home message: great for delivery, less so for the actual restaurant.

Actual conversations from Siam: A: «yeah, service is a little slow tonight. Wonder why, there’s only like 4 people here.» B: «Cut her some slack, there are 7 individual customers at three whole tables.» B: «I’ll keep her busy for awhile. I’ll order ice cream.» A: «I’ll time her. Dinner is on me if its out in under 8 minutes.» B: «Figured it would be at least 15 minutes.» (iPhone display turns off) «Guess its been 5 minutes.» (display turns off again) Ice cream arrives. I learned 2 things here, a star for each. 1) the iPhone display goes off after 5 minutes 2) Green Tea Ice Cream sucks. So not a completely wasted trip?

I love the shrimp pad thai! It’s not greasy at all and super tasty. The fried ice cream is really good as well. Definitely worth trying. I usually do take out/delivery and it’s super fast. I noticed the place doesn’t get packed, but when I do sit in, they get so many orders for delivery/take out. Service is great and the lady answering the phone is always very nice! I’ve never had a problem with the good here.

Still new, but I’ve already given it plenty of tries and it’s the same old story for LIC and the mediocrity. I’m living here 5 years already so I get pretty psyched for some Japanese food or any new restaurant. Another fusion place? Why don’t people try doing one thing and doing it well? Raise the bar a bit. Push the envelope. Wishful thinking, I suppose. The food isn’t very tasty and doesn’t seem fresh. The décor is terrible. The same chairs as usual with some cold tile everywhere and no real design sense. I still have to jump on the 7 to get real sushi or Japanese food.

Ordered Delivery. Fast Service on a Monday Night. Restaurant has a complete Thai and Japanese Menu available. I had the Tom Yum Koong –soup it was okay. Tasty with 3 shrimps and onion and red pepper bits in a savory broth. Also ordered the Pad Thai with chicken. It was very light in flavor but the noodles were not greasy and had a good texture. Ask for extra sauce or to add spice to make the dish better. I don’t know if it’s my favorite Thai choice in Long Island City. But let’s see if this new additional will be successful in LIC.
