Extremely sad this place is gone along with Pomme Frites(that I never had the chance to try) Rest in peace to the two lives lost.

Ate here a few weeks ago– our friends own Toy Tokyo down the block… fast service, large portions, well priced. Will be sorely missed. Hopefully they’ll relocate– let’s pray for the fire victims.

i can’t believe this is one of my favorites and i still haven’t reviewed it yet. it’s kinda like i go there all the time and just expect it to always be there, but it never occur to me to review it. and… I CAN’T BELIEVEIT’S GONENOW. :’( my(future) sorority sister brought me here a few years ago, it reminded me of the cheap sushi chain in Atlanta called RuSan’s that i used to go to when i was in college. half-off sushi, loud music, quick service, and almost always a good time. we tried a few appetizers, such as okonomiyaki, fried shishito peppers, curry croquette, etc. most were just ok. the sushi creations are crazy and the options are limit-less! however, i usually go with the spider roll, viper roll, or shrimp tempura roll. they’re always tasty and very filling. while the service could be a hit or miss, i still had many good memories here. i hope everyone is safe and that they will return soon.

Loved this place. I was so sad to see in the news today that the building had a major fire and collapsed. Your customers have you all in their thoughts and prayers and wish you the best of luck.

Oh god, Sushi Park! I hope another one opens up in New York sometime soon! 50% off amazing sushi. HUGE portions. Quick service. I had dinner here more times than I can count and always left satisfied! It was always my «Go-to place.» I was viewing an apartment nearby and exclaiming, «My favorite sushi place is near here!!! It would be amazing to live so close!» Little did I know, all the fire trucks whizzing by were headed to put out the blaze! Of all places, WHYSUSHIPARK?! Why?! Bring yourself back from the rubble, Sushi Park!!! We are already waiting! *exploded 3/26/15*

OMG! This place was the explosion on second avenue. I’m soooo going to miss this place. I took my wife here on our first date 11years ago when it was called Sushi Park. Great memories, the wait staff knew the family and our son has grown up eating sushi here. The sushi was good, fresh and affordable. I hope all chefs, waiters and waitresses made it out safe. Rest In Peace Mays Place. Keep us posted if you open up another place.

50% sushi is definitely a big draw here. It was surprisingly good. There is a large selection of sushi and other entrees here. I got the chicken teriyaki which was pretty good, served on the sizzle plate so it remained hot the whole time I ate it with rice on the side. the flavor was ok but a little soy sauce helped. I also had some of the sushi — the dragon rolls and mango flower rolls, mostly because of the names. They were both pretty good, especially the mango flower which as expected taste a bit sweet. The restuant is bright and the server was ok. The wait here is pretty long and the 50% grabs you. It’s also a bit tight here as far as space to sit. If you’re looking for a sizeable selection of sushi for less than you may pay at other sushi spots, this is worth a try, just be ready to wait and be and possibly be crammed.

Came here a week and a half ago, ordered $ 30 worth of sushi rolls, which would get reduced to $ 15 because of this discount thing they have, then got a ramen. Simple math, order came out to be about $ 25. I gave them my debit card to charge an even $ 29 including tip. Today, I check my bank statement and they charged me $ 34.99. What the hell? The numbers aren’t even close. Did they just guess the numbers when they put in my card? They charged me six dollars more for no reason. Make sure to keep a receipt for this damn place, or pay in cash. Also, sushi is okay. Nothing spectacular, tastes like generic, and decent for a sushi fix. Also, pretty sure they’re not authentically Japanese.

After a long day of shopping, I was craving sushi. Luckily, Sushi Park wasn’t far from soho! Sushi Park is a great place for 2 – 4 max, any bigger it’ll be really uncomfortable. Atmosphere is average. Lighting is too dim for my liking. I love their sweet daily deals and their everyday, 50% discount on limited items…(well, practically 80% items on their menu is 50% off!). It’s a deal you can’t really turn down! Price range($-$$) Quality of the food is fresh but not top notch. Quantity is average, 6 piece per hand rolls. Staffs: really slow and forgetful. They forgot two of my orders. Overall experience: pretty satisfied for a decent price !

Update: This place has been destroy due to a huge explosion/fire yesterday hopefully they reopen soon and looking forward to coming back when it does. When May was the owner, this place was phenomenal, she and her staff always took care of her customers and I was told by the waitress that I was the first and only person to have reached the ten meals and reach the free meal sticker on the card or more specifically I reached 20 meals and got 2 free meals. May introduced the $ 1 meal, $ 2 Soporro/Kirin and Sake specials, 50% off most items and it was quite popular. Though the restaurant layout remained identical, the feel and vibe has certainly changed. The service is still very good and everything is priced reasonably. But you know it’s not the same if you’ve been her 3 years ago. Still I give this place four stars doing their best to keep the tradition that May implemented and I’m glad there’s still the 50% off sushi and Sashimi. It is still my first choice to go to for Japanese when I want to stay downtown.

Came here few years ago with a bunch of friends. The sushi was alright, nothing really special about them. The prices are a little expensive. The quality of the fishes are good but they do not taste any different from a AYCE sushi restaurant. The place has dim lighting, making it have a relaxed feeling. The place is super cramped on the inside. The seating are so close to each other, that it was a hassle trying to go to the bathroom. The service wasn’t very fast either.

SERVICE: Slow — I mean VERY slow; it took a while for us(and not before us flagging someone down) to put in our order as well as get our check. VENUE: Tight and packed; There were only a couple tables available when we got there around 7 on a Wednesday night. It’s also one of those places where you’d find yourself having to say«Excuse me» and squeeze through to your seat. I recommend this place for small parties or you’d have to wait. FOOD: Good, wide selection. — $ 1 Samosas — very small, but flavorful — Dynamite Roll(Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, Spicy Yellowtail, Avocado and Masago): Spicy? Could’ve fooled me. However, we still enjoyed this. — Lavish Roll(Soft Shell Crab, Eel, Cucumber, Spicy Tuna, Crunch and Eel Sauce): Mmmm mmmm mmmm! My favorite that night. Oh and these are big rolls! — Dragon Roll(Eel, Cucumber, Avocado, Masago and Eel Sauce): Average but still satisfying DESSERT: Banana Tempura Ice Cream(Green Tea) — yum! VERDICT: With their various selection of sushi rolls, good prices(they have $ 1 — $ 3 plates [though small] from Mon — Thur in addition to their 50% off sushi rolls), the negative of their slow-moving staff is offset. I recommend only coming here when you have lots of time and are not in a hurry.

50%. It has a nice ring to it, but when the prices are doubled its worth and not reflective of the quality of rolls received, it tends to lose its appeal. I used to frequent Sushi Park as a college student and for a few years thereafter. It was great for the prices on fish that wouldn’t make you sick. Since then, I developed a liking to more authentic places, and SP is not one of them. It operates almost like a sushi diner would. The rolls come out pretty quickly, but won’t be winning any awards for presentation or quality. They have way too many menu items in the special rolls section. And, the rolls all include many of the same ingredients with only one or two differences. It’s a complete waste of space and they would do well to focus on less. $ 3 Sapporo glasses almost make up for the sushi flop. However, there are places that offer colder and more carbonated Sapporo for less. The rolls I received had too much tempura in it; I couldn’t taste my already mashed up spicy salmon. It’s really cheap quality at a not-so-cheap price. The special rolls average at $ 15 a pop. The 50% is only applied when an individual’s order has reached the minimum of $ 14. Though the half off discount is applied to most sashimi as well, this doesn’t include the uni. Yes, read that fine print! They can charge more than the sushi place around the corner, on St. Mark’s Place, only because their space is cleaner and larger. Other than that, I hope to avoid in the future.

I come here every so often because it is cheap and convenient. The restaurant is pretty big, so the wait is never too long and there seems to always be a deal of some sort. I have noticed it is a place more for students, probably because of the pricing and the location near schools. To sum up the whole experience, you are getting what you pay for. It is decent quality sushi for a reasonable price. You are not paying for a Sushi of Gari experience so do not expect to get that quality.

Great food for a great price! It appears that most of the menu is 50 percent off most of the time(not sure how that works). We got a bunch of rolls and loved all of them… and were shocked at how cheap it was!

The place looks exactly like what you would expect a sushi place to look. Service is a bit pushy, but at least it’s very attentive. They have some great deals on sushi and an assorted mix of classic and custom rolls. My dining companion and I had: Edamame — Good although could use more sea salt. Sausages — best appetizer EVER. Get this for sure. Miso soup — good, tasty, plenty seaweed & tofu Seaweed salad — hated whatever sauce they use in it Dining companion had the white tuna roll, tuna roll and I think the spicy Shrimp roll. White tuna roll was the King of the show for my dining companion. Apparently, the texture and flavor was far superior to the regular tuna roll and the other roll. I had the Orange Dragon roll, Scorpion roll and tuna roll. Orange Dragon roll was the star for me, with a close in second following by the Scorpion roll. Perhaps, it was due to upstaging but the tuna roll had a weird after taste which I think was the result of the seaweed. Special rolls were so filling I had to take some to go. In all honesty, I chucked the tuna rolls because I knew I wasn’t going to eat them. Yes it was that bad. Bathrooms were neat, clean and basic. There was a warning about how hot the hot water is but I didn’t get close to scalded so I didn’t get all the hype. I would return but I’d be very wary of the tuna. Overall, the place is worth trying for sure.

For sure not the best sushi you will ever get, but super delicious, super fresh and very affordable. Where else in Manhattan can you get freshly hand made sushi without selling your family heirlooms? Seriously though haha. For $ 30 we got 5 rolls. I loved it. The staff wasn’t too great though: took my salad appetizer bowl away while I was still working on it, I paused but I wasn’t done, the bowl disappeared without consulting me… When we were finished with our sushi, nobody came in to check if we wanted another look at the menu and we waited a solid 15 minutes before hollering someone to bring over the check. Oh well. No biggie. Overall, very decent, super fresh, and great price for Manhattan sushi! Place is packed, can’t go wrong!

I’m here when I need to get my sushi fix… at 50% off a huge selection of sushi & rolls, you just can’t go wrong! Tonight I got the«clown», «UFO», «french kiss», «dragon» and«red avocado» rolls… the«french kiss» and«UFO» rolls are by far my favorite and I order them every time I come here! One more thing that I will add to my «re-order» list: the ALOHAWASUBI… ok this is not the 7-Eleven wasubi you can find in Hawaii but I was ecstatic I found a good tasting wasubi on the East Coast!

We came here last night. We were in a pinch so we came here to mix it up. Always full we were seated almost immediately. As far as the quality of the sushi I am not a HUGE fan of this place. HONESTLY I’VEHADMUCHHHHHHHBETTER. But I must say that the inventiveness of the rolls are interesting. Plus its 50% off so if you’re on a college budget by all means. What we had: «Dynamite” — spicy salmon, spicy tuna, spicy y.t. & avocado with masago on top(needs more spicy-ness goodness. I don’t wanna feel my face) «Eel & Avocado»(too much sauce for me. I had to remove a lot of it) «I Love NY» spicy tuna & avocado with tuna & special sauce on top(good. the special sauce was mango-y) «Manhattan» tuna, avocado, cucumber with tuna, red snapper on top with masago Overall a decient meal. Service was ok. I mean we had to trip the server to get her attention and flag down one of the bus-boi’s for some water. I feel like they only care about your beverage choice if its alcohol based. I’ll jsut stick to water and seltzer. My girl can have the Sake and white wine. Not Horrible for a cold Thursday night.

I’m convinced this is the most popular sushi joint in all of NYC. It’s nowhere near the best, it’s just the most popular. I happen to run into the most people in this one restaurant. Like most people on a budget and have sushi cravings Friday/Saturday nights(or any time ever, really), this is your go-to sushi spot. Everything is 50%! You may think it’s just the sushi, but today I ordered some blueberry wine and to my delight, the entire bill was discounted. Hell, if you’re really poor, they have a dollar menu. They don’t have it on holidays but whatever, but they do have 3 balls of takoyaki for $ 1… Yeah! You can legitimately get full for like $ 3. I feel like somebody should tell homeless people about this joint. Except don’t, nobody wants to eat around that. And I vaguely remember $ 1 oysters. I don’t think they offer that everyday but that’s a steal. Some places in the world, you have to do some pretty nasty things to get oysters that cheap. The sushi itself is okay. They’re never that great and never that bad, but they serve some hot ass sushi. They’re not playing around with the jalenpenos. I accidentally ordered something spicy when I was with a girl last year and I spent the rest of the night trying to hide the fact that I had diarrhea. I don’t ever advise getting alcohol here. Or any dishes that aren’t sushi for that matter. You’re not going to get drunk off the bottles of sake they offer, unless you’re a 9 year old Asian girl, so save yourself the trouble. They do offer pitchers of beer though, so maybe?
