We got an iced red eye and an iced mocha latte. Mocha latte was fine, nothing special, but also not horrible. The red eye seemed watered down and way too bitter.

While this lil’ bakery is undoubtedly in the best location(inside FAO Schwarts!) I had mixed emotions about these lil’ macarons. For starters — they were soooo crumbly. Who wants a crumbly macaron?! All three of mine crumbled. Ugh. And unfortunately I wasn’t terribly excited about the chocolate mac. While rich and super chocolately(and crumbly) it tasted like an undercooked brownie. This is a-ok for brownies — but I just didn’t love the texture of the macaron. And it was so dense and heavy tasting. The pistachio had good flavor though, I could absolutely taste that nuttiness. And it wasn’t nearly as dense as the chocolate variety was. Also quite good was the passion fruit. It gets bonus points for being the prettiest macaron in the case(orange cookie w/red and purple splatters and bright red filling) and the fruitiness of it was fantastic. If you’re checking the baked goods case in Sugar & Plumm then you should definitely ask for a passion fruit macaron.

Apparently ground level is now called the second floor, as that’s where the S&P website states they are within FAO Schwarz. Staffers were a bit slow in distributing the freebie on Macaron Day, but that’s partly the fault of the sluggish tourists that mob the joint. Mediocre product.
