I came to Dr Bernstein 6 years ago for orthotics. He seemed pleasant, professional and caring. He spent almost 45 minutes with me, which is almost unheard of these days. So why am I giving him 1 star? Because when I returned a couple of years ago to get new orthotics made his demeanor completely changed for the worst. He seemed agitated with my questions and his staff. He got greedy and refused to issue a 50% reimbursement I was ENTITLED to for $ 400 orthotics, as per my insurance. I spent over a year battling my insurance company and playing phone-tag with his staff. I even had to instruct his billing person step by step on how to proceed and she STILL couldn’t figure out how to file the proper documents on my behalf to verify the claim which resulted in my insurance company rejecting the claim altogether. I couldn’t get the Dr to return any of my phone calls. He told his biller to tell me he didn’t feel obligated to deal with the situation any further. Even though it was his office’s fault for not submitting my claim properly he refused to issue a reimbursement. Such a disappointment.
