Since I moved from previous apt, I had to find new nail salon. This salon was the most closest. I gave it try. First time, I was like huh yeah its alright because I knew that the way of painting determines how long it lasts. As I thought it was alright, gel mani lasted about 2 weeks(my previous fav nail salon could do up to almost 4 weeks w/o chipping.) however, 2 weeks is not too bad considering convenience and price. 2nd time, it lasted longer and color came out much better. I was satisfied. So my conclusion is its all up to who you choose. My second try was done by Linka(sorry if I spelled wrong) she was very calm and focused. Cuticle cutting process didn’t hurt at all. I would recommend this place anyone who knows its deal. If you are expecting exceptionally clean salon, you should make a trip to city.

Went there for wax, acrylic tips & pedi. The wax room scared me the most, very dirty and there was spiderwebs all over :( The lady(owner) forgot her name was nasty. She did my mani and then sent me to another person for pedi and told me will do my eyebrows after I am done with my pedi. Right after she walked me to the pedi area she requested me to pay for the service and tips. I gave her $ 5 as assumed she would do my eyebrows as well, and $ 2 to the pedi person. After I was done with the pedi, she said she can’t do my eyebrows because her regular client just came in, so she sent me to another person for my eyebrows and forced me to pay another tip for this third person. I was forced to paid tip three times at this one time visit! Will never return!

The very first time I came here, I loved my experience. But over the last year as I’ve been coming back, I can’t take it anymore. This will be my last time coming here. The place is consistently dirty, the towels were stiff and disgusting, the woman doing my pedicure huffed/rolled her eyes/aggressively grabbed my foot when I didn’t catch her instruction, and the pedicure was poorly done. I didn’t have the time to pay for an extra 10 minute massage, so I guess that meant that in addition to almost *no* massage I didn’t even get any lotion applied to my feet, only to my calves. This absolutely is a case of getting what you pay for.

I will never come back to this nail salon even if they only charge 15 $ on wkdays! I went this past wkend and they charged me 18 $ for a crappy mani and pedi. My nails are already chipping after the second day! Service was horrible. The lady that did my nails was unpleasant and not friendly! Instead of painting 2 layers of polish, I got one 1 ½ layer of polish! Hence, why my nails are chipping! This lady did a really half ass job!!! I don’t know how ppl rated this salon 4 stars and up! You can get a better mani and pedi with better service at Katy’s nails on 60th st and 5th ave for 17 $ with quick dry! I would give this place no stars! They don’t even take credit cards, cash only!

I was a tad surprised and disappointed at how little I liked this place, given the great prior reviews on here. Here’s a run down of my experience: Pros: –CHEAP($ 15 for mani/ped Mon-Thurs, plus $ 3 for a nail design that looks good) –Good selection of nail colors –Friendly enough staff –Seem honest; don’t try to up-sell you with all kinds of extra services Cons: –Not the cleanest — the kind of place where I had to ask that the paper towel on the mani table be changed from the person before me –Drying machines/fans don’t work well –Somewhat sloppy painting job on fingernails –Huge wall of colors, though limited selection of OPI –Pedi chairs had a massage thing laid over the back, but it didn’t really do much –The only magazines to read were nail magazines I would probably go back here in a pinch just because it’s really cheap, but I am still on the hunt for a better place…

I almost hate writing this review because now everyone will come here and ruin it :( However, it’s my duty to share the amazing and crappy places on Unilocal with everyone else, and this place is AMAZING! First of all they do have a special as another reviewer mentioned for Monday-Thursday $ 15 for mani-pedi, but I came in today for only a pedicure and it was $ 15 for a french pedicure. They also have working massage chairs for the pedicure stations and while they aren’t anything special, they work and they are kept clean! I was impressed with the fact that I saw tools being sanitized after customers, and the one girl got busy and couldn’t sanitize so she washed everything in anti bacterial soap instead. Now that may not have been ideal, but anyone who has ever gotten their nails done in the hood knows that such things are a RARE commodity which is pretty sad. The woman giving me my pedicure let me sit and relax with my headphones in, she was pretty gentle, and even gave me a decent leg rub too, I liked that she wore gloves for the whole ordeal. I will come back for a manicure when I can, my job is hard on my nails so I don’t even bother but I will be sure to stop in on a Monday and try out their special. Cheap, Clean, Friendly enough and no feeling like they’re talking crap about you in their native language either. My Go-To near home from now on.

Wonderful service, very low prices($ 20 for Gel Manicure), and exactly what I wanted. I got a gel manicure, which took about 40 minutes(it was my first– I was warned it will take 15 minutes more on my next visit to remove the polish I got today). There was no waiting, and an endless choice of colors and glitters to choose from. The manicurist was great– my nails look amazing! She also provided massages(hand, arm, back/shoulder) between each step of the process.

Excellent service, good prices, amazing selection of colors. They have the newest OPI and Essie colors which is rare in sunset park. Also, I’ve never done the gel/shellac but noticed they had boxes on boxes of different colors. And for $ 20 I’m definitely trying it next time. I’d recommend this nail salon to all my friends in the area.

SHUTUPANDTAKEMYMONEY! I gave them 5 stars because 6 wasn’t an option. Unilocal doesn’t exactly have a developed section for Sunset Park businesses. I’ve made it my personal goal to seek out quality/thirfty places for what I need near my house(I live in the 50s streets.) Recently I stopped biting my nails. I started getting mani/pedis weekly to keep up my goal — because when my hands get rough, I start picking and biting at them. I’ve been to all the nail salons around here: 5th Ave(which is on the 54th street block of 5th ave) and its neighbor, Big Apple Nails. Those places are just ok – I’d give 5th ave two stars and Big Apple 3 stars. Then I ventured down the street to Strawberry. I’ll never go anywhere else again. They are so sweet, so helpful, so attentive to your hands and feet. They are meticulous and careful. They ask you about what you want. Today I went in and got the UV gel polish manicure(a STEAL at $ 20, plus they have Gellish AND Shellac polishes, they must have had 50 colors, PLUS the regular polish to put on your feet to match for EACH color of Shellac and Gellish they have.) My hands and my nails look fantastic. Plus, her hand massages are THEBOMB. I nearly turned into a puddle. A regular mani-pedi on Monday through Thursday will run you $ 14.99 plus tip. SERIOUSLY. BOTHOFTHEM. For $ 15. TOTAL. For $ 5 extra she’ll give your legs a ten minute massage. For $ 10 extra she’ll do the massage AND the spa pedicure. While your nails are drying, you get a back and shoulder rub. There must be 500+ colors on the wall in addition to the Shellac and Gellish colors they have. OPI, China Glaze, even a few(like 10) really cool«dull» sparkle shades(the matte ones.) They’re quick without making you feel rushed, attentive and sweet. They’re open 7 days, 9:30 am to 8pm M-S and 10 – 7 Sun.
