Straight From the Crate

DO NOT SHOP HERE! I reallyyyyyy wish i listened to all of the reviews before I decided to buy my dining table here. I came into this store over a month ago to buy a dining table… I had found it cheaper at Downtown Furniture NYC but decided this store seemed more reputable, so I came here. I placed my order & was told it would arrive within a week.
1 week later I called, and they still didn’t have the table, nor did they know when it would arrive. Every time Marc told me he would check and call me back, he didn’t. I basically called every other day for 2 ½ weeks until it finally arrived (1 ½ weeks later than they had told me). When it arrived, the table was broken, 2 chairs were broken, and all 5 pieces were wobbly. They also didn’t assemble it, which I was told they would. They sent someone over to fix it all, but he couldn’t, so they had to order another table (which would arrive in «1 week»).
Now it is two weeks later again. They told me they can’t get me the new chairs I need. I told them to cancel my order (which they did) & they sent people here tonight to pick up the broken table… my one request of the pickup guys was not to step on my rug, and the guy stepped all over it. Ridiculous.
There is not even ONE good thing about this store… even when I called Marc to complain, he didn’t offer ANY solution or apology… he just said he agreed with me. Really not a good way to retain customers. Overpriced too… Definitely do not shop here!!!

Buyer beware at this place! Unfortunately it seems, you don’t get what you pay for here…(that is, you pay, but you may never get what you ordered!)
Ordered a number of pieces of furniture, was promised by the salesman/​manager Marty that it would arrive by the next week. The week came and went without so much as a phone call. When I contacted them the following Monday, I was told by the surly receptionist that it would be at least another two weeks before all of the pieces arrived. I cancelled my order, and it has now been an epic battle to get them to refund my money… for merchandise that they never even had in stock.
Lesson learned: do your homework before shopping at an independent retailer, or just pay the extra money and go somewhere reputable.

Next to Bed Bath & Beyond on the Upper West Side, you can get all your house shopping done in one cab ride. They have a wide variety of furniture reasonably priced and crammed into a small space, but it is VERY important to see what you are buying in person! The catalogs they show you are very deceiving. Like online dating; when it shows up, it may look different than the photos. So beware!
Ask for Thomas, he was great in finding the perfect items and did not pressure us into buying anything. In New York you have many choices on where and who to buy from. You go where they have good stuff and good people.
I definitely want to check out the other locations.
