The coffee is decent, but the employees are slow to take your order and even slower to make it. Be sure you have at least 10 minutes to spare, even if you just order a tall black coffee. The space is small but usually clean and they don’t make you purchase anything if you need to use the restroom.

First time at this location the Barista in turn(Amy) was super rude. I asked her for an extra lid and didn’t even acknowledged she heard me. She asked the person next to her with a horrendous tone of voice«I don’t have any lids or cups» when the guy brought the items. She didn’t give me the extra lid I asked for. I went to the register and asked for a manager and guess what Amy is person in charged. It is pitiful that a company with such high standards have employees like her. It wasn’t even busy. Starbucks is an expensive place the least customer expect is a thrilling experience. Someone needs to have a talk with that lady and give her a pep talk about customer service.

drinks always take forever to be done, never space for a sit down and morning hours it’s packed and low on staff. I rather have a quick fresh coffee at McDonalds

Plenty of space, good hot chocolate, free wifi. Two stars cuz both the cups on my orders were covered in caramel syrup.

This has to be the worst Starbucks I have ever been to. First day there were a few forgivable mistakes and the second was a fairy longer wait than usual but today I’m convinced the barista thought I knew absolutely nothing about the beverage I requested. I ordered cold brew hazelnut trenta and that was definitely not cold brew and there was no hazelnut flavor at all. I would have brought it back but like most coffee drinkers in the morning we have someplace to be so I ended up throwing the entire drink away and went to Dunkin Donuts. To avoid an experience like this again i will stick to the one at 181st and FT Washington, I’ve never had one issue at that location.

How can it take 10 minutes to get an unsweetened iced coffee that will be sweetened? Ask the constantly rotating staff of the slowest Starbucks in the city.

Slow and inefficient. Not convenient at all when in a hurry On the bright side, nice common table in the middle.

3 stars for the location but this is the SLOWEST starbucks i’ve ever been to. The employees work with no sense of urgency. If you have nowhere to be for the day, then this is your spot

Don’t go here. I know the location is convenient and you think you’re going to get a typical Starbucks experience, but you won’t. The service here is beyond slow and very rude. I get my morning coffee here and I have never seen anyone smile at a customer. Plus, I routinely spend more than 10 minutes inside the store, and I’m not even getting espresso drinks. There is always a big line inside the store and barely anyone is working. The last time I was here was typical: there was a guy behind the counter slowly taking orders and making simple drinks, and a girl at the espresso machine(actually, she’s awesome). There was one more guy behind the counter now doing anything, just standing there and occasionally grabbing a pastry for the counter guy, and two more guys just chatting away, either in the back or inside the actual store. One of these guys looked like the manager. When I expressed my disappointment with their service, I was greeted with the most profound indifference I ever felt from any store staff. To make the story short: the management is nonexistent, staff are slow, they give you attitude if you complain, and you will spend 10+ minutes to get a coffee here. I have missed my train waiting for them to pour me a cup of black more times than I can count on my fingers and I’m finally fed up and done coming here.

There’s a Starbucks on Dyckman St, now to see if they will have one on St Nick Ave above 187th St

I like the location of this Starbucks, right on the corner near the park. However, I was there today and instead of making me a chai tea latte like I asked, they seemed to have made me a coffee latte. I didn’t realize till I was too far away. I was going to give this place a 4 star, but forgive the disappointment.

Admittedly, as soon as I walked into this new Upstate Manhattan Starbucks location, my first reaction was, «…this feels kind of weird.». Gentrification has different angles, I suppose. Heh. Love it or hate it, it’s here. I’m pleased it is; it’s familiar and consistent. Still, perched gingerly on the corner of Dyckman and Broadway, the A Train’s entrance right beside it(akin to their sibling store on 181st and Fort Washington), this Bucky’s is bustling. I liked the seating, namely the large communal table. The ordering area and receiving area are far removed from each other. I’m not sure if I hit a bad early evening lull or what, but it took 5+ minutes for me to get a simple green iced tea with only two customers ahead of me. Eh. While I’d be more inclined to support Darling Coffee or Indian Road Café, I can’t deny this location’s convenience.

Staff seem friendly enough And I never had too much of a problem waiting for my drink and have never missed my order Except their drinks aren’t made as good as other Starbucks I’ve been to I’d say they are one step, or you could say they are one letter off ;-) ;-) (See the attached picture for the joke) Hence the 2 stars

Typical Starbucks. Service was a little slow on a Saturday. The bathroom has a door code so you won’t have random bathroom users taking up space in this small spot. Very close to the Cloisters, good spot to grab a refreshment on your way up or down.

The slowest service ever. Avoid this place on a Sunday. Seriously. The staff plays around a lot and run out of products before 1PM. This is Starbucks. how do you run out of brown sugar and half and half???

I have some deep feelings about this Starbucks location. Not because I love Starbucks, but because there are changes afoot in this neighborhood and this place is a metaphor for many of them. Let’s start with the fact that it exists here a all. Whenever a Starbucks comes to a neighborhood in NYC it’s a sign not of impending gentrification, but of solidly underway gentrification. Starbucks is not showing up in the hopes that gentrified folks are around, it shows up when gentrification is solidly underway. And looking at the people who live mostly on the west side of Broadway? It’s clear. So Starbucks isn’t a harbinger, it’s a confirmation. It’s also here because other cafes have paved the way. In the last 10 years we went from having no cafes to having a burst of a ton of cafes to having fewer cafes because many of them didn’t make it. Why? There are a lot of reasons, but the biggest is because it’s an expensive business. You have to balance a lot of things. And you need a clientele willing to pay certain prices to keep you afloat. Even in a gentrified nabe like this one there are still a ton of people who are concerned with authenticity and local-ness(as long as those things are made to feel comfortable and welcoming to THEM and not necessarily the people who lived around here before them). So I can see them eschewing the Starbucks in favor of Darling Coffee down the road. Those people can keep that place. After having spent several days in this Starbucks writing, working, and people watching, here’s what I’ve noticed about it: a true mix of people come in here. Yes, you have the white folks, the hipsters, the yuppies, and the baby carriage pushers. Those aren’t the only people who come in. There are plenty people of color, especially Dominicans, who drop in for coffee or stay to work or hang out. This place is pretty hoppin’ on weekend afternoons and on some weeknights. The people who work here are mostly brown, and as a brown person i appreciate that. Contrast this with the very white clientele and staff of Darling Coffee or even Taszo down in Wa-Hai. Curious, that. A chain coffee shop draws a more diverse clientele than the«local» shops not so far away? How is that possible? Maybe because Starbucks isn’t only here for the gentrifiers. Maybe because the people of Inwood are a bit tired of «local» places that aren’t so friendly toward what we consider local people. One of the biggest drawbacks to this place is how few seats there are. A communal table int he center seats 6, bar seating by the window seats maybe 4, tables in the back corner can fit up to 8 if everyone is willing to get snug. I usually find a seat, even if I have to wait for a bit. It’s worth it. There are outlets, there is free wi-fi, there are good drinks(chai latte, come to mama), there are friendly people. I would spend all my days here before I spent an hour in certain other cafes. I wish that they’d gone for a bigger space with this location. I wish that the other cafes in this neighborhood hadn’t disappeared or made themselves unfriendly toward certain people. I wish we didn’t need chain cafes to make other places step up their game. I wish hipsters and yuppies hadn’t discovered Inwood. I wish a lot of things.

Starbucks finally comes to Dyckman… And they say this neighborhood isn’t being gentrified. Either way, great location. Basically expect what u would expect from any city Starbucks. Clean, quick service and a bunch of dweebs hogging up tables with their laptops. Can’t deny the Dyckman flava’ either… Fellas, you might want to schedule an appointment with your Chiropractor after leaving here. It’s kind of like that…

Excellent new Starbucks that just opened up in Inwood area right on Dyckman next to the subway. This one had free wifi, clean bathroom and a sit/stand bar on the middle and some seats on the side by windows. It’s a better Starbucks the ones downtown. Staff is friendly and service is quick. That’s all I care about Love this one.
