Starbucks

Happy New Year! Waited in line, not too long, but when I got to the front of the line they said the only type of milk they had was coconut or soy. No regular or skim. Really? Stuff happens, but at least post a sign. Very disappointed. This location clearly doesn’t value our time. Good thing there are better managed Starbucks a few blocks away.

Consistently rude staff. Came here when there was no line but yet the baristas did not acknowledge I was standing waiting (I said good morning 2x before they noticed). When I finally got my coffee (regular dark roast, nothing special about it), it was shoved toward me with a massive attitude, as if it was an inconvenience. Even though this location is close to me, I would much prefer to go to another one with a better attitude.

Rude staff and a ridiculous lack of indoor seating. The barista was curt and unpleasant. Only come to this Starbucks if absolutely necessary and if you’re in and out. Will not come here again.

Still 3 stars. The staff these days all seem to range from clueless to apathetic to hostile and the still beloved outdoor space is still janky. On last visit we returned first the decaf then the bold then the pikes roast because all were unbelievably weak. Since when is that a problem at Starbucks? New pots were made which were better but we were made to feel like we were being unreasonable. But… sometimes you just need to see the sky in this city.

I think they’ve changed staff or management because I’ve been a few times in the past few months and it’s a totally different vibe. The staff is pleasant and nothing like the experiences I had before.

Most of the employees are helpful except for Bre. Avoid her. My Starbucks app was being weird and she was completely rude. Instead of assisting me she acted like I was invisible and looked over me to help another customer. Very disappointing. I will make sure to avoid her on my morning Starbucks runs. Unacceptable.

Everyone is rude with sour attitudes. Got my order wrong twice on the same day. They don’t listen to the orders.

The first night in ny I walked down a couple blocks from the apartment I stayed at and saw that they close at 10pm… SO WHY WAS THE PLACE LOCKED UP/​LIGHTS OFF AND EVERYONE GONE ON A WEDS NIGHT AT 9:10pm??? I’ve noticed many Starbucks in nyc close around 9pm instead of 10pm which is strange because usually works start cleaning/​putting chairs away around 9:30 — 9:40 and everyone at this location was completely gone by 9pm… I thought this was the city that never sleeps? The next morning I purchased my usual and noticed there were freshly opened free samples but after waiting for my boyfriends drink I realized no one is placing a cover to prevent flies/​or anything from touching the free samples. That grossed me out since anyone could sneeze or cough or a fly could easily go onto it, my local Starbucks always has glass covers to protect samples. The place was also messy with dripped/​spilled drinks on the counter, napkins on the floor and used napkins on the counter to get your sugar. Not impressed.

One of the better Starbucks on the east side, because it’s so Far East it’s usually never too packed. Service is always quick and easy and the baristas know what they are doing.

Very rude and incompetent worker named Yesenia. It’s a lovely location, so it’s unfortunate. After I paid for a sandwich she forgot about, she snapped at me in front of other customers and said «No you didn’t,» and her coworker kindly got it for me. Before that she gave me a blonde roast instead of dark, even though she repeated the order back to me, and rolled her eyes when I corrected the order. No apology in either situation. I also notice she was much more polite to almost 10 other customers who coincidentally were not Asian.
Anyone who’s worked in the service industry (including me) knows there are really annoying and entitled customers that merit that nasty attitude. That was definitely not the case.

A quick update. A lot of reviews comment on the staff here. I’m happy to say many of the «problem» staff are gone. They have some new managers on and, while it can still be hit or miss with the different crews, the afternoon/​evening shift is spot on. Friendly, quick with the drinks, and they keep the place clean. Heck, they even have pastries in the case finally!
Indoor seating is extremely limited, but it’s more of an outdoor Starbucks. Enjoy the outdoor seating when it’s warm.

Non-​customer Harlemites, perverts, smokers, and hobos occupying on the tables outside. I live nearby and see them regularly picking fights with the paying customers.
Don’t assume the baristas at this Starbucks know how to make a PSL. They constantly forget the cinnamon.

Great place with friendly morning shift crew. They almost always have my drink ready before I order; a plus because I am a frappuccino drinker, and as you well know, that takes a while to make.
The store itself is small. I have often found myself squeezed against the bakery counter while waiting on line, if there was someone adding sugar to their coffee in the self-​serve area and someone else was coming from the bar/​restroom. This is a huge pain if the other parties have suitcases, or big bags, or are just plain inconsiderate. And it’s worse during the holidays, when the store has their gift items on display.
Indoor seating is limited, but their patio is a decent size, so that’s a great option on a nice day. They also offer wifi, which does not always work, and definitely not the fastest, but it’s free.
Apart from the size of the store, this is one of my favorite Starbucks in the city. It’s clean, and the staff serves me caffeine with a smile — what more could a girl ask for?

TINY Starbucks with more seating OUTDOORS than INDOORS
But that doesn’t bother me because I enjoy sippin’ hot coffee outdoors (as long as it’s not snowing or raining heavily) in cold weather. This Starbucks must get PACKED during the summer months or whenever weather’s nice since there are PLENTY of outdoor seating available at this particular Starbucks.
During my visit, they ran out of coffee so I had to wait about 5 – 10 minutes till they made a fresh brew. After my coffee was ready, the barista apologized, gave me my drink, and handed me a Free Drink Card for the unfortunate experience. I wasn’t pissed off for my late drink and wasn’t expecting that but that kind of customer service is definitely winning in my books.
Restrooms are available but electrical outlets are VERY limited. I saw ONE near the restroom but due to outdoor seating being available and great customer service, I gave them 3.8 stars which round up to 4 stars.

What makes this Starbucks better than the rest?
–Plenty of outdoor seating.
–Friendly baristas.
–Prime location.
–Quick/​efficient service.
It’s one of the few locations I know that has a nice outside area. And with the free wifi, it’s a perfect place to sit on a beautiful day!

Alway fine for me! I usually get a seat & can plug in my iphone to do some surfing & sipping.

Looks like a nice place to come grab some coffee, have a little lunch when it’s sunny and warm outside, but when you have a ton of other Starbucks to choose from, I’d say skip this one and walk another few blocks.
The workers are yelling to each other, they’re talking shit about customers in front of other customers, the sugar station is a mess, they haven’t refilled any of the milk containers and they got my drink order wrong, almost twice.

It’s better than the Starbucks on York between E81st & E80th — but that is not saying much.
Less crowded than other SBuxes in the area, so that’s a plus.
Phil raises a good point about the outside seating, but I can’t shake the memory of what happened two years ago — creeps me out. :-P

My fav place to get a quick starbucks! Love the outdoor seatings but the indoor is very small, in the winter, i try not to come here IF i intend to stay long just because i never get a seat, but in the summer, hell yeah!
one thing, i dont get why it’s so cold indoor vs outdoor! The A/​c issue needs to be adjusted.
