Delicious, tender, thin-sliced tender pastrami sandwiches with pickle and chips…$ 8.25…shocking. Far superior to the formerly delicious Kosher deli chain I used to visit in Queens. I’ll definitely be back if visiting in the area.

This is a fast, loud and bustling deli that can be intimidating. Stage door is often packed with tourist and construction workers, but don’t be discouraged they have a process that gets you in and out fast. First. Order in the middle of the store at the mirrored counter. Second. Get on a line at either side left or right to pay. Third. Wait close to the register for your grub. Your food will literally fly through the air into to the packers hands and into a bag to be packaged up and your on your way. The food is inexpensive but meh on taste. If your looking to satisfy hunger not so much your taste buds at a reasonable price Stage Door works.

Ordered from this place numerous times especially when stuck on overtime and no time to go anywhere. The food tastes great at least I have never had any issues with it. I don’t know if this is much of a complaint but I normally order the same thing and when I receive the food its almost always different. I mean its what I ordered but sometimes I get more food then other times, more is better so not complaining. All in all good place, I do recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quick bite.

This deli is not good anymore! Had the worst breakfast take out this morning. My expectations of a great $ 6.50 scrambled egg with no meat platter was ruined. The home fries had a strawberry top with the leaf on it buried in them and the ketchup packs were stuck together with some sticky honey substance like they recycle them. They offered me another plate of food and more ketchup. I don’t want to eat their food anymore! How about offering a refund. I really expected better from this deli.

Just alright! Meh! Seemed like it was for the working lunch crowd that has 20 minutes to eat and go.

Horrible PLACE! Order food from them and it was soo bad that I called them to complaint and the manager told me oh yes I was going to stop the order from being delivered but it was already sent out sorry. Quality of the food horrible. Quality of the service horrible. The manager with the name Daniella or something is just rude, and wants to sell bad quality food to customers as long as she gets paid!

The Stage Door offers a large variety of fast, fresh, good quality deli food at reasonable prices. If you are not a regular, menus are available at the ordering station. Everyone was helpful. Stand aside, decide, order, walk to the front, pay, come back and pick up the food. Both times we ate there, the place was serving several Ground Zero construction workers. We made the logic leap that after almost fifteen years of reconstruction that the workers would know where to eat. The place is very busy at lunch! There was a little communication confusion between placing the order and paying the bill because the info was passed verbally. However, the price we paid was fair and the food was good. As an example two breakfasts were about $ 15 plus tip. There is an online menu. We were staying at the Hilton Millenium where we refused to pay $ 8 for a bagel and $ 12 for a small cup of coffee. It is a good sign that the bathroom is spotlessly clean! If I worked in the area, this would be my go-to place for quick eats.

Upstairs to have pizza. Service was slow but that wasn’t a problem. Received bill I paid with credit card and put my tip on my card my sister was going to put her tip(cash) on table but before she could do that this bully manager(owner) literally comes to our table and asked us «was the service bad because your tip was not enough» he even had the nerve to give us a pen to change it. Who does that? So now you come at us forcefully to give tips? I have never experienced anything so disgusting. This owner would have never approached my husband or brother in law both officers in PD and FD. We(4 girls) were all shocked. Bad behavior and no class. Plz don’t eat upstairs or be prepared to be told what to tip by the manager if he’s not happy with the tip you leave. What a major JERKJERKJERK. Bottom line no Owner/manager has any right to approach any customer on how much tip to leave.

Love love love LOVE this place! Excellent breakfast and lunch available here for not a lot of money. Very impressive selection of quick grab & go items if you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to wait. Small place but plenty of room to grab a table, sit and eat while being«entertained» by the staff behind the counter. Not that they were trying to entertain, I just got a kick out of the ‘dance’ that went on between food assembly and the cashier… The sandwich tosses were pretty impressive too. We were in NYC for a week and ate breakfast here 4 out of 5 days we were in that location and had lunch there twice. I wanted to hug each one of them on our last day there because I felt like we had made new friends. Also made me wish there were such a place here in my hometown. Can’t recommend Stage Door enough. Great place!

A good deli for tourists that want good ol’ nyc eats as they have a pretty large selection of sandwiches, wraps, and burgers. I tried the Stage Door House Panini and a philly cheese steak, and while the Panini was very delicious with a good balance of meat, onions, and vinegarette, but they did run out of the proper bread for the cheesesteak and it was instead put on a bagel which I believe took a lot out of the experience.

We stopped off here after a morning at the Statue of Liberty. We were looking for a NY deli. We walked in and I was a bit skeptical but then I started looking at the menu… LOTS of options. And the wall of beverages was a welcome sight on a 90+ degree day. I ended up with a Reuben with mustard which was really delicious. Just what I was looking for. My hubs has a chicken sando with mozzarella and roasted red peppers which was huge but also hit the spot. I’m giving 4 stars because this is exactly the kind of place we were looking for, really casual, air conditioned, and big sandwiches for a hungry group. If that is what you are looking for. You will be pleased.

The best hot pastrami sandwich around the area. PERIOD! It’s not Carnegie, 2nd Avenue, or Katz level, but still the best pastrami around here. But then again, this is the financial district which surprisingly is a wasteland in terms of fine eating given the sheer number of eating venues and restaurants around here… For around $ 12, you get a pastrami sandwich, a bag of chips, and a small container of potato salad. The potato salad is an option. I think the sandwich runs about 8 and change, closer to 9. Seating upstairs, but didn’t check it out. Place has hot food, pizza, sandwiches, pre-prepared food stuffs, and etc. Not a fancy, chi-chi place. Not fine dining in any case. Just lunch to go if you’re in the mood for«deli style» food round the area;

Great solid New York deli. The seats are a bit tight, but it makes sense with how many people come here to eat. Especially with all of the options in the area surrounding the tourism for Ground Zero this place beats everything. Great staff, Great food, Great selection, Quick and genuine service. Definitely a relief from the over attacked tourist environment.

Ordered delivery. The guy who took the call doesn’t comprehend English or just doesn’t care. Did not follow order instructions. Expensive for the quantity and quality of food.

Great selection of sandwiches, hot foods and assorted drinks here. Except there’s nothing here that makes Stage Door Deli stand out from the other hundreds of other Delis in New York City! Everything here is a tad more expensive than what you would find at any other deli but that’s probably because it is in the FiDi area. Unilocal says their weekend operating hours start at 6am but when I showed up to get some breakfast, their sign on the front of their door says: open at 10am.

This place is a food lover’s heaven. I was starving and was determined to have my first pastrami sandwich in a NYC deli, and this fit the bill. I was a little unimpressed when I saw the exterior of the place, but then I walked inside, saw the menu, and all was good in the world. The menu can be overwhelming, but I told the guys behind the counter that I just wanted a straight-up pastrami sandwich, and they took good care of me. The cookies and pastries here are HUGE, and you will not leave hungry!

Stage Door Deli serves similar okay food as any other deli within a few blocks, except it is about 25% more expensive. This is most likely because there are many tourists visiting the World Trade Center and 9⁄11 Memorial here. On the bright side, they are very fast, and sometimes they throw your food to each other and catch it as it goes down the deli assembly line, which is mildly impressive. All other nearby delis are cheaper, and most are also better.

Having lived in NYC for 12 years, there is nothing like a bacon, egg and cheese on a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel with a hot cup of coffee to get your day started. Frankly, you can get that anywhere in NYC. Some places taste better than Stage Door Deli — but why I’m a fan of this place is the speed at which they do all of this. Fast, friendly service is key in NYC for all the folks on the run. Whenever I’m working downtown, this is my place to go.

Such a great deli with so many choices. I have to force myself not stop here everyday to get their bacon egg cheese on a roll on the way to work. The bacon is crispy, the eggs are cooked just right with a slightly yokey center, and a fresh roll. Second most important thing is a good cup of deli coffee!
