It was good. I got the taco salad with shrimp and it came with 4 tiny shrimp. Not worth the extra price for the shrimp but still good. Next time I would get it with chicken. That is what my friend got and her portion was better.

Nice place with many healthy choices. I don’t know why it’s underrated. We came here for a late dinner couple of nights ago and the space and the food were both excellent. I heard they just moved to this location so everything is brand new and well decorated. The space is big, so you don’t deal with an annoying line to get a table. It can fit a lot of people plus they have one more level downstairs. I had the kale salad and it was huge and delicious. My friend tried sauteed veggies in the wok with tamari ginger and garlic and it was really good. I’m actually craving her plate since I tried it that night.

I would give no stars if I could. Went there expecting fun relaxing time and had a terrible time. My friend ordered edamame and opened the pods and found WORMS. INMORETHANONE! Upon quietly telling management they said she could have something else and they wouldn’t charge her for the edamame! No apologies. Nothing! She ordered french fries which never came. They then had the nerve to charge her for the french fries and the edamame! They finally took the edamame off but wanted her to pay for the french fries! They weren’t even gratis after she was so nice and didn’t make a big deal over the worms. plus she never got them. When she asked why they were on the bill they said they weren’t complimentary for her trouble. and they never arrived! We were all finished eating already. She would have taken them to go. But not with such poor service and being charged. tThe woman manager is a complete ass and should learn customer service. We were a party of 7 with a large bill. We will never go back. YOUSHOULDNEVERGOTHERE. They were in business many years at their prior location. They should have closed and said goodbye when they lost that lease. Ordered a grilled chicken burger for delivery. The chicken was completely raw and the fries were saggy and gross. I’m never eating there again, I could’ve gotten a pretty bad food poisoning from it.

I’ve been here many times and I’m usually VERY impressed which is why I give it 3 stars but this time when I went, there was a lot of issues. I am a vegan and I ordered their vegan breakfast burrito. When it came, it looked amazing– I took 3 – 4 bites and I was like DAMN this is good but when I looked inside, there was ham, eggs and cheese(all of which I strictly do not eat). I was upset but decided not to make a big deal out of it. I politely asked to be brought a new burrito. They brought me a new one but had NO kind of indication they were sorry for the mix up, they charged me full price and seemed annoyed when I asked for a new one. You’d think they’d at least knock a drink off the price or something. This honestly ruined my experience and I was bummed the whole day. Normally I’d understand, but this restaurant specifically CATERS to people who are vegan, vegetarian and GF, in fact, they have it on their menu so you’d think they would be more careful. God forbid I actually had an ALLERGY to eggs or something… I will probably come again because this was my only bad experience, but I’m going to think hard before I do. if you’re a vegan or GF or have any allergies be very careful, ask about everything and DOUBLECHECK your order before taking a bite.

My wife and I go to Spring Street almost every time we are in NY. We were very disappointed when we emerged from the subway station only to face a window of butcher paper. A couple of days later, we found that they had moved a block away. Kind of new-looking, and there was the lingering doubt that the food might no longer be as good. We sat at the bar, and the bartender, Brittany make our evening. She was warm, charming, and mixed a great Manhattan. And our worries about the food were unfounded. It was as great as ever. It’s still a fantastic place.

Love this place! Great natural food made with fresh ingredients. Typically I don’t drink because it’s hard to find things to mix with but the bartender made me a drink with fresh fruit juice!!! Amazing. I had the salmon with sweet mashed. Would definitely order it again. The staff was very accommodating constantly checking on us to make sure we had all that we needed. Thank you for a great evening!

Surprisingly, very delicious brunch here ! We had originally planned to go to Jacks wife Freda, which of course was packed with an hour wait and it was raining. We decided to walk down kenmare to check out our other options and found Spring Natural. From the outside, it looked cute and it was not as packed. We decided to give it a try. .it was definitely worth it. We ordered mimosas, the jerk chicken & sweet potato waffles, and the cinnamon raisin French toast. Everything was delicious .the chicken was moist and the skin just crispy enough, and most importantly the jerk was not overwhelming. It came with this sauce for the chicken that tasted sweet and bit tangy. We couldn’t figure out what it was, but it was good. Plenty of fresh fruit on top to go with it Mimosas were good, sweet stawberry pineapple and some other fruit juice, I forgot. Nothing special. The French toast was yummy too, but the crust was bit too hard. had to cut that part out The atmosphere was nice, bit tight against the wall though. I’m skinny but had to seriously squeeze through the tables to get to my seat against the wall. Very spacious otherwise. They have a nice space downstairs that they use for parties I guess. I recommended this place to my friend for her baby shower. Will be back !

Went there last Saturday evening. I had the shrimp with grits, delicious! My four friends also were happy with their dishes. The service was professional and courteous. We dined downstairs. I loved that they didn’t cramp the place with too many tables as so many restaurants do. Lovely!

Did not know they moved. Went to their location on spring street and saw the sign. The new location is more modern but smaller. The servers have a more casual looking uniform now compared to back then. Menu is not as extensive as back then and they don’t currently serve alcohol. We started off with some fish empanadas as appetizer and their jerk chicken and dry aged burger with bacon-onion jam. The fish empanadas are crispy and flavorful. Wasn’t too fishy. Went well with the spicy mayo. The jerk chicken wasn’t too great. Doesn’t really taste like a normal jerk chicken. More like a soy sauce chicken. The potato it came with was a little too salty. The dry aged burger was delicious and unique. The patty blend of chunk, short rib and brisket was interesting and mouth watering good. The fries were better than average but different from back then. They used to have skinny fries, now it is a little thicker. For dessert we had their mango cheesecake. It was ok, the cake was warm and had a berry compote. Overall, the new location got a different vibe than the original. The décor is more updated but I feel the original décor and location is part of the dining experience that made it enjoyable. Food quality average, except the dry aged burger was exceptional. Service was friendly and fast. Would like to see them bring back a daily special menu.

Spring Street Natural Restaurant is just off the subway station that shares a similar name. I was planning to eat at Jack’s Wife Freda, a really popular but smaller food joint two doors down. There was a 90-minute wait there, so we went to Spring Street Natural instead, and had a good lunch without the long wait. Notes: + The restaurant is huuuge! It felt like there were at least 50 tables. We got a table immediately upon arrival. + The food is nothing special and the menu is pretty boring — your standard American food. It would have been nice to see more interesting items on the menu. It’s a good restaurant to go to when you are short on time and just want a quick bite to eat. But if you’re just visiting New York, take the time to find(and wait!) for the exceptional food New York has to offer.

I sat at the bar and was in awe. Beth was as they say doin it all, expertly, literallly. With speed, smiles, grace and a demeanor that you honestly dont see too often. She seemed genuinely happy to be bussing plates, taking food orders, making drinks for the 12 peopke at the bar AND the service bar. Most places have 2 or 3 doing all this and not as good as Beth by herself :) Food was great too.

Spring Street Natural is a good option whether you’re health conscious or just allergic to long waits and trends. It’s straightforward and has been successful in this neighborhood for some time. Much like Siggy’s, it caters to veg people without discriminating against meat eaters. The restaurant is spacious and has outdoor seating for warm days if you want to people-watch. Inside it’s a tad dark with moody dinner candle light. We had a group of six and sat at a nice, comfy table. There are daily specials and good drink options that rotate. Prices are higher than I would like, but for food, I thought my duck tender stir fry with brown rice was pretty reasonable at around $ 17. Not bad, too, and I was able to convince myself that it wasn’t totally unhealthy. Service was solid, too. I would give it a 3.5 on food alone, but the laid-back character gives the place a lift.

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet! I have been here tons of times. There is nothing quite special about this restaurant, but the food is good, their menu is vegetarian friendly. Lots of tables for big groups, staff is friendly and attentive for the most part, there are also outside sittings. Prices are fair!

I came here because walking in for Sunday brunch at Jack’s Wife Freda is nearly impossible. And now I’m a fan of you, Spring. Your food is delicious and your waiters are amicable. I’ll be back for dinner soon!

I decided to go to Spring Street Natural because I was looking for some vegan/vegetarian food before joining my friends to a party. Honestly, I should have read the other reviews and trusted the fellow Unilocalers. The service is not good enough: a bit slow, we asked for a swap of ingredients in one of the meals ordered and we were told that we were going to be charged extra for that(we asked for tofu instead of feta. Seriously). The waiters don’t look at you in the eye, the just rush to your table, put the dish down and run away. The food tasted like one of those meals I prepare when I’m in a hurry at home: take anything from the fridge and put it on a dish. Maybe it was my unfortunate night out? Not sure. NY offers so many great restaurants, next time I’ll avoid this one.

Though not as popular or well-reviewed as some of its neighbors(Jacks Wife Freda is right next door and the famed Balthazar is the next block over), Spring Street Natural Kitchen is consistently good. I’ve been here multiple times, most recently on a beautiful Saturday. I went around 1:45 pm for brunch and our table for two was seated right away, though there was a wait for the very limited outdoor seating(I think there were only 6 or so tables). The restaurant is quite large, which means you’ll rarely have to wait too long for a table. The menu is extensive as well, including everything from large salads, burgers, sandwiches, and entrée dishes like fish and stir fry. Everything is very reasonably priced. The burger and fries is particularly good, as is the organic stir fry vegetables. Often stir fry sauces are too salty or sweet, but the classic ginger sauce they use is perfect. Love this place for brunch, lunch, or dinner. It’s consistently good, the service is friendly and fast, and if there’s a wait there are plenty of stores around to waste time!

I’ve been coming here for years. I used to live locally & was never disappointed by this bar/restaurant. Vegan/Vegetarian/Carnivore? All are welcome & all will be satisfied here. Loads of the healthy & delicious options. Pleasant & welcoming staff, spacious seating configuration yet it has a very NY buzz. My most recent visit was for a late breakfast. Yummy with free regular/decaf refills. Nice venue for drinks & dinner too. What are you waiting for? Get in there!
