This is the worst Thai restaurant in the area. We generally order from Thai Market, Wondee, or Tum & Yum, and wanted to give this a try. What a fiasco! We ordered chicken satay, spring rolls, green curry, noodles and a vegetarian dish, and ended up throwing in the garbage pretty much all of our dinner. The only dish that was edible(it was actually good!) was the fried banana. We called to ask whether they had received other complaints because we just could not believe how bad it was, but apparently this is their usual quality. Never ever again!

Mediocre Thai spot. Good place if you want to order something quick or for delivery. Very reasonable lunch special deals which include an appetizer in the price. DONOT order the Thai iced tea, too incredibly sweet Horrible service

We’ve been back numerous times and always enjoyed Spice and trying different dishes. I especially liked the duck salad, and this past weekend enjoyed the land and sea salad. Its our go to spot for delicious thai!

I use to love this place. The food has always been delicious and I love their lunch specials. However I recently ordered pad thai for delivery and it was pretty bad. I don’t know if they have changed their recipe but it did not taste like pad thai. I was very disappointed.

Food was ok, everyone’s entrée came out minutes apart. The staff was not very friendly, we were the last ones there and walked by three employees and not a single one of them said thank you, or goodbye on our way out. Definitely will not be back to Upper east side location.

Very good food and nice ambiance and good prices. We had the fried calamari, a masaman curry, pineapple fried rice, a fried fish(snapper) one dessert, two iced teas and a Coke and the bill was around $ 70. Presentation was great and service was very friendly. The manager is on top of questions and willing to help. My mom can’t eat anything spicy and they modified the fish to ensure she could eat it.

6’Oclock spicy fried rice-average. Somehow the rice tastes undercooked. Mild taste yet all the flavors of the ingredients blend in with the rice pretty well. Spring roll-average. Ordinary taste. Interesting lemon-flavored sauce.

AMAZINGTHAIFOOD. Ready to get smacked by a whole bunch of thai flavors packed into this little gem on Amsterdam avenue. I love this place!!! Its a new addition to the community and I must have ordered over ten times from them. While I haven’t had the opportunity to eat at Spice, I can say the food they deliver to my job is just outstanding. So it begins when you try to make the order for delivery it can get a bit frustrating since the woman that takes the order doesn’t speak English that well, but as long as the food is amazing who cares? She does repeat everything back to you and is really sweet. Thai tea just perfect I mean it complements the meal so its a must get. The pad see ew, I get it with the extra brown sauce mixed in and some modification by adding the American Broccoli instead of the Chinese and its just so divine! The broccoli is crunchy and the noodles perfectly cooked. There pad thai is also excellent. The appetizers: **Sorry to say this, but the summer rolls(Lettuce, basil, mints & tofu with tamarind hoisin sauce) are pretty gross it looks YUMMYFROMTHEOUTSIDE but it tastes pretty horrible. WOULDNOTGETTHOSE. DON’T DOIT. The thing is all the other great food makes up for it. Try the spring rolls crunchy amazing, must get. My favorite? The appetizer you must try when you go there? DRUMROLLPLEASE, THEWINNER: CHICKENWINGS With Tamarind chili sauce. ADDICTING. JUSTADDICTING. Its this perfect play between slightly sweet and spicy. This is my new«go-to» for Thai food. I personally believe it beats Thai market and other Thai places around the neighborhood.

i just didn’t like how the waitress looked dissapointed after she saw the tip amount. i just didn’t like how they always rush people into asking what they would like to order and everytime I say we needed time to seek through the menu, she had a dissapointed face again. what’s up with the attitude and language barrier? yes, i am here to eat food but it’s also the hands of the people in prep of my food that matters the most. don’t serve me with angry hands. came here a couple of times, food portions are great, the interior design is chic. but they gotta relax on the passive-aggressive attitude and hire people that understand English. the food brings me here but there are other Thai spots that are eager to serve you with a better attitude and the food is great. not coming back here. fyi: be prepared for them to interrupt you every 2 – 5 mins filling your cup with water. it was cute for the first 10 mins, then became annoying.

I have been going here everyday since it’s very close to my place and it’s very very good. I tried the Chu-chee duck and pork chops and they are amazing. They have very good flavors and give more than enough quantity for the price.

Ordered takeout here twice. Pretty good! They’re a little cheaper than some of the other places in the area. Got drunk man noodles, moderately spicy, and they did a nice job with the spice level, albeit with too many onions. The staff are very nice with none of the rudeness or sass indeed you’d find at many other restaurants.

For me, the litmus test for any restaurant claiming to serve Thai food is pad thai. Spice passes with flying colors. Within minutes of my order, they whisked out a brick of noodles and chicken. It’s a pretty fancy place: there’s a decorative leaf under the brick, and a garlic chive poking out of it. The brick of pad thai is piping hot, and has a generous amount of chicken in it. Rather than using crushed peanuts, they seem to use some kind of peanut dust — so you can still taste it, but bits of peanut don’t get stuck in your teeth. Other nice touches: interior design is very nice, there’s a giant TV behind the bar, and the glasses for water have a satisfying heft to them.

Between SPICE and its competitor across the street, Thai Market, I would have to say that Thai Market tastes slightly better. However, service and quantity-wise, SPICE takes the cake. You get a bang for you buck(Spice being a dollar or two cheaper than Thai Market) I noticed that SPICE serves you more than Thai Market and their services are quicker. Pick ups take up to 10 minutes and delivery would take 15 – 20 minutes(I live in Harlem btw) Unlike Thai Market which takes up to 35 – 45 minutes on a weekday evening. Both restaurants are good but Spice has the slight advantage here.

love having this well-known, dericious chain join the ‘hood. spice pretty much always delivers what I need and expect– simple Thai, clean flavors, no frills but no disappointments(usually). try the andaman dumplings, glass noodles are bomb with your choice of protein(or veg), drunken noodles were a little on the greasy side last time, but considering how many dozens of orders I’ve placed at various spice locations in many years… I’ll let them have a free pass here and there. dependable, delicious. the curries could stand to be hotter, but they’ll accommodate your needs and requests for more/less. ask for their house hot sauce and put it on everything! nom nom nom. I don’t have a ton to say on the subject because if you’ve been to one you’ve been to all. if you need better-than-decent Thai and expect great portions on noodle/rice dishes(though not the most amazing thing your taste buds have yet to encounter)…check it out– any location

So I came here after a gym workout(don’t judge me). The ambiance is super chic, with a Thai/urban/industrial feel in the corner of 108 and Amsterdam. The staff are very pleasant. While I waited for my take out, the hostess offered me a seat at the bar. Another server behind the bar area offered me a glass of water while I waited for my dish. The bar has bamboo wood wrapped around its L shape. The dining tables have a metal finish. The seats are leather and super comfy looking. The cushioned bench in the back runs the full length of the back wall. The exposed brick is awesomely rugged and very 2015. Who would’ve thought that the old, smelly fish market that used to occupy this corner could become such a beautiful, Thai butterfly?

Another great new Thai option on the block! This is definitely better than Wondee, not better than Thai Market — but very comparable, faster, and more available if Thai Market is too busy. I have taken out from here twice so far and have been very pleased with my experiences. All of the food was delicious, I was more impressed with the appetizers than the entrees. You have to try the chicken basil egg rolls, I could probably eat 20 of them they were so delicious! All of the employees here will go out of their way to make you love this place, they get 5 stars for customer service! No liquor license yet but I was told it will be ready very soon(April 2015), until then they might be BYOB?
