Stopped by this place spur of the moment after doing some black friday shopping. I almost walked passed it actually, not a huge sign or awning saying that this place is here. It’s in the basement, but this place was spotless! Much nicer than the usual places I go to in queens, although the pricing for the bodywork is about double what i pay in queens(that’s manhattan for you). It was worth it though, the place was much bigger than what i’m accustomed to. They have a big locker room area to get undressed and a lock to keep all your items secure. I declined the sauna but the table shower was nice. The massage itself was not rushed and the masseuse got to all the aches and pains areas within the one hour time frame. When i left i felt fantastic and loose and ready to hit up the night life scene of manhattan fully relaxed.

I’ve used this place before and it seems like its gotten worse. I wish I could just copy/paste the previous reviewer’s review — its absolutely spot on. This is an attempt to be an upscale massage parlor that is ‘different’ from the sleazy places that populate all of manhattan. When you walk in the place gives off an extremely upscale vibe… it also has a big shower and steam room/table shower area. None were actually working and the masseuse never offered to give the table shower. Having called earlier and given a rate of $ 50.00 for a half hour, I was shocked when the front desk girl told me it was $ 60 — 65.00 if I used a credit card. I kept trying to insist that the girl on the phone(totally different voice and much younger sounding) had insisted that it was $ 50 — she would have none of it. Finally frustrated, i agreed. This woman was really rude and was clearly having a bad day. After changing and being escorted to my massage room walking past maybe 5 – 6 various girls of ‘slutty’ and ‘pretty’ demeanors, the said front desk girl suddenly jumped on my back and began giving me a massage. While I decided to write off her rude behavior and just focus on relaxing, there was no way I was going to allow someone who was just rude to me, to put their hands on me. I insisted that SOMEONE else give me a massage — she said there was noone else, and said I should have«asked ealier». This was confusing to me, but I insisted that I did NOT want her giving me the massage. She then told me that if I did not want HER I would have to leave. I opted for leaving and upon existing the changing room, there were 6 – 7 girls just idling around, waiting to be picked. I asked why one of them wouldn’t give me a massage, and she would not give me an answer. These girls live for their tips, the actual massage goes completely to the house — so I was shocked that she would not allow her employees to make any money. This place definitely wants to drive itself into the ground, because its on 3rd ave, and in a large space, where I’m guessing rent is NOTCHEAP. Stay away — they do not want your business.

I just got home after walking just a half block from Spa Ginza, which around the corner from me. This is a Korean Massage Parlor(KMP) that has a mix of pro and pretty masseuses that offer massages of various ilks, depending on the clientele. Their hope is to cultivate people who want a nice massage in a clean atmosphere, that is a step above the Chinese backrup places we see everywhere, and the Equinox-club-type massage that is overpriced. I went in, gave my $ 80 for a massage and table shower, and asked for my table shower after the massage. I used the shower and noticed that there were no sandals for customers to use, except two shared plastic ones in the shower area itself. The steam and sauna were OFF. NOT so good. I had hoped to use both. My therapist, Jessica, was a young, nice-looking Korean girl and she was talkative and ready to take me to the room as soon as I was done in the shower. We got started with me face down and covered with a towel. Jessica was soft-handed, going for a Swedish style. The massage was fairly basic and I would not call her a CMT. But, she was very smooth and covered every limb as well as my head, feet, hands, etc. She hit the check list. Jessica was a bit pushy about the time. I felt rushed and decided to just leave and forget the table shower. The manager has her dog running around. It was cute, but I have to confess I was miffed giving a $ 50 tip to Jessica and $ 80 to the house for what was basically the use of their shower and a weak back rub. DON“T GOTHEREUNLESSYOUAREREALLYDESPERATE!!! This place has been well-funded but the management has no clue as to how to measure the services they are offering. I was not asked how my visit was, or anything!
