We easily found street parking close by and this part of the city has beautiful streets to meander down. A beautifully laid out gallery that is super approachable. I have been to other galleries and sometimes the people there aren’t very friendly but, this place was and some of the artists were there so you can talk to them about their work. The steps going upstairs can be a little scary when you are coming back down so, be careful. The light in the space showcased every one’s are in an impressive way. I also like how the upstairs was two sections and the downstairs space was easily navigated as well. The show that I went to was showcasing a variety of different types of art so, you have a chance to see many different mediums. It also has hands down the coolest bathroom I have ever been in. Adorned with vintage pictures of different sizes covering all the walls. I was standing in there looking at all of them until I thought to myself oh no I hope nobody is waiting.

Friendliest gallery I have ever stepped into in NYC. Excellent photography displayed in a gray neutral setting. Gallery sitter was exceedingly helpful. This is a photographer run gallery so I guess you could get the occasional cold shoulder so common in art galleries, but i had a totally wonderful experience. I will be back for talks and openings.

If you’re looking for a swanky/sexy gallery with art that’s overpriced to help pay for the rent and designer furniture, turn around. This place is a real artists gallery. At first glance I thought their lighting setup was awful, but then realized there’s even light on all the art and no glare, so it’s actually perfect. I’ve been twice. They change their shows each month. The first time I went 3 Shows were really great and 2 were only ok. on my most recent trip 4 of the shows up were excellent and one was so-so(My favorite was an abstract series of the Williamsburg bridge.) Nice/helpful staff. Affordable prices for quality stuff. Great mix of interesting art.

Stopped in with my boyfriend because it was freezing and we were in the neighborhood. I think I liked the space a lot because it was so isolated and quiet. There are 2 levels, and yes although the staircase is «rickety» I don’t think the artspace is meant to be anything more than a no-nonsense room to display art. I wasn’t blown away by the art displayed that day, but I would come back if in the area.

Cramped. Rickety stairs. Hot as I’d imagine Hell to be, if not hotter. Poor, unflattering, lighting. The reason for two stars, you ask? I wanted to see some photography, and photography they had! Props to Brian Shumway who won third place in the National Competition Exhibition and his photo is in the gallery through August 9th.
