I hate this place and would not recommend anyone to go there. Actually, you can’t go here because this place is no longer in business. I showed up today for my appointment today to find the place empty. I had used them in the past for other services and decided to use my credit for laser hair removal. I feel completely duped, they took my money knowing that they were closing. I just read some outrageous reviews from various customers on NY CitySearch : This place basically signed people up for service packages knowing full well they were closing, and then up and disappeared. If that isn’t shady, I don’t know what is. I A new place, Trasformare has moved in there and they cannot help anyone who was a Sleek MEDSPA client. Anyone want to start a class action suit. I’m sure there are hundreds who were ready to start services, were in the middle of a package, etc. I am beside myself. I also love this Rip off report write up about them: Please Please Please we need to band together people.

Bought dermabrasion package. And In a matter of 4 months 3 technicians changed and seems they were all new at it. No result my skin is still the same! It was a prepaid package so I was really stuck. Still have couple of sessions left & I went back after 2 months. Instead of getting my feedback on my experience they started selling me more. Extremely pushy in selling packages. Felt as if I was at a dealership when the lady at reception & the manager kept going back & forth on pricing & how it was the«last day» for that deal. Wasted money & top of it TIME it was so not worth it. Hope some can recommend me a place for laser & derm I’m really fed up with such horrible so called medspas.

I have been going here since they were called Skin Klinic, and have also seen lots of changes. The packages are good deal, but after you sign up it is almost impossible to get appointments for the treatment, and like the other reviewer said the staff is constantly changing and are always getting me confused with another patient. One person says that a laser treatment must be done one way, and the other practitioner says it should be done a different way. I still like to use their sun screen products but that is it for treatments for me.

I agree with other reviews that say this place can be a little pushy signing people up for packages. That being said, I signed up for a package a few years back looking to get my tummy tucked. Put the money down, but did not have the full balance of 5 grand or so. Sometime last year, I got a frequent shopper card in the mail & a call from someone at Sleek with a deal of some kind. I said, «Hey! Can I use my money to buy some micro treatments?» After talking with the manager of the spa, they set it up for me. So I have had two micro treatments now & it has been a pleasant experience overall. It would be nice if they gave a facial with the micro, but being that I already have a paid for package of 10 treatments, I am really not going to complain. The office is really nice. It’s situated right across from Central Park on the East Side of Manhattan. I have not had any reason to complain since getting my treatments. Just the other weekend when I went there, I spoke with an office manager about changing up my package. Maybe the management has changed. I find them to be very helpful. I recently signed up for a botox & juvaderm points program hoping my dermatologist offered the program. She doesn’t, but Sleek does, so I am sure I will be taking advantage of that soon as well. They have a lot of different treatment options of lasers, chemical peels and the like. Looking forward to being a patient of theirs for many years to come.

So this is –just– a review for the little free offer they’re doing this week. Apparently it’s their anniversary and so they offered people who had a consult in the past one free service(either microderm, chemi peel or hair removal on a small area). Free is always a good deal as long as nothing goes wrong and nothing really went wrong. I made an appointment yesterday and talked to a different consultant than I had the first time I went to this place over a year or two ago. Chemical peels are a bit old hat to me as I do them at home and have gone to different places for them so we decided to go with that as my free service. The rep gently asked if I wanted to book a package before the treatment and I graciously declined. It was at 7:00 pm so I ended up having to make the appointment for the actual peel this morning at 10:30, no biggie. I get there at 10:24 and I get sat in the back area as I wait for my aesthetician to be free. It’s 10:53 and I’m still there so I go up front and ask how much longer it will be. Just a few minutes after this, she comes out magically and gives me a two stage glycolic peel after removing my makeup. 10% pre peel, 20% peel. Lots of gauze rubbing on my face which became a little sensitive. They have sunblock in the bathroom which is great since you’ll need to apply that before you leave. I put makeup right back on, donned my hat and walked out into the warm sunlight. They do not offer the peels I’m looking to do consistently(vitalize) so I didn’t even give a thought to going back for a package(nor would I after the multiple bad reviews from other people in NY and Boston) BUT… for a free peel, this was pretty damn good so here’s to upping their Unilocal rating even a little. Just a note about location. On the little Unilocal map it looks like this is on 59th street, but it’s really on 61st. If you went to this place when it was Skinklinic you can no longer enter through the back, you have to go onto 5th avenue in the middle of the block. I almost went to my gyno’s office instead since it’s in 800A and I’m used to going right in.

This place has gone downhill fast. When it first opened, I went there to for a laser treatment and had decent results. Last year I decided try it again and made the mistake of buying a package. Spent a ton of money and got NO results. The practitioners are not educated, do not understand how to operate the equipment and often mess up the settings. Several times they have misread my file and put the laser on the wrong settings, though lucky for me, it was a lower setting than what I needed, which meant I was not burned, but I basically saw no results. The staff is nice but EXTREMELY disorganized. They always mess up my chart and never remember the number of appointments I have left(several times they referred to my old chart from my first visit 5 years prior! I had to finally ask them to start a new one for me so they’d stop confusing the two). All in all, it was a frustrating experience the second time around and a waste of money which was very disappointing considering they had potential when they first opened.
