Very nice place, within the Taj Pierre. Loved it. Authentic Italian. The pasta’s are perfect, black squid ink pasta, butternut squash ravioli. Nice salads & great desserts. Definite try,

I came here on Christmas Day with my partner, a friend and my mum who was over from London for a special blow-the-budget meal. It was certainly blow-the-budget but very disappointing indeed. There was a set menu — $ 95. At that price we were expecting great food, service and ambience but Sirio failed to deliver on all counts. Firstly servers tried to rush us by trying to clear our plates several times before we had finished and even said they were finishing lunch service implying we should get going. Why did they take our late booking in that case?! We were hardly going to have a quick meal on Christmas Day when we were paying through the nose(total bill came to $ 650)!! One of the options on the menu — a mushroom risotto I think had black truffle oil so they added a massive supplement to that dish(around $ 70 I believe) which meant there were very limited ‘affordable’ options. I had chicken for entrée and it was a tiny portion and very bland with two microscopic, dry little potatoes. My partner had short ribs that were even smaller — like a canapé! No one wished us merry Christmas and the ambiance was nothing special. We left feeling hungry and completely ripped off.

I went to Sirio for diner during the restaurant week. Different from other restaurants I had this week, their menu is elaborately crafted. All food we had taste so good. The dessert is amazingly good. We came in around 6, not many ppl around-it’s definitely a quiet place for conversation. And of course, the indoor deco is elegant as well! Highly recommend!

What an incredible NYE2016EXPERIENCE!!! Truly amazingly friendly service, elegant food presentation and exquisite flavors! The ambiance is to die for and the jazz band in the Rotonda room was exceptionally talented. The price point was on the higher end, but for New Year’s Eve it was definitely worth it. The entire staff showed care and concern for their patrons and made us their priority. We definitely will be returning to the Sirio for a regular dining experience in the near future. Thank you for helping us bring in 2016 in the most special way!!!

Overpriced, not tasty, awful experience. Pizza was very bad and of unacceptable quality. Don’t go there.

Bad to say the least… After Spending 1 hour to get there I arrived with my family, the hostess and another employee looked at me as if I was an alien because I had 2 baby strollers… after the killer look they went ahead and told me that the restaurant was closed when it wasn’t. I told them that how was that if the restaurant hours posted and Unilocal indicated they were open in addition to the full menus being displayed outside. They just said«Sorry». BTW The restaurant was partially full… I recommend no strollers as they get deeply offended…

Sirio popped up on my radar recently on a trip to New York, specifically Central Park on the specific day that we dropped in. The interior has a snazzy diner feel with a bit of New York steakhouse mixed in. Lots of unnatural lighting and warm dark-brown décor. Service felt a little stuffy, unfortunately. And to match, the prices were off the charts. Generally for a $ 40 breakfast, I would prefer a continental buffet or something of the sorts. I will say that they seem to have some nuances that aren’t necessary the wrong way to go about things. To start, my wife ordered an iced coffee. Well, they don’t have iced coffee. So, we assumed they erred on the side of European classics… to which we tried their Illy house coffee. $ 9, and it tasted bad. I understand that if you are catering to a specific clientele, Illy may be desired… but $ 9? Next, the Salmon Bagel, though yielding something like a quarter-pound of smoked salmon and a nicely toasted bagel, cost $ 19. Yes, the tomatoes, onions, and capers are nicely presented, but I can’t quite say that I would pay nearly $ 20 for a bagel and salmon anywhere in the city. The saving grace: eggs benedict. Classically runny, rich, and fresh. The house-made hash-brown bites/balls were a nice touch. On the whole, I would not recommend Sirio to anyone wanting a nice breakfast near the Central Park area… price nor quality.

I absolutely love the freshness and the quality of sirio. I think the staff really makes the difference and makes you feel at home, especially Erica. They are very welcoming with children and offer kid friendly options. My favorite is the pomodoro pasta :)

Their prix fixe lunch at $ 26 for two courses was a great deal. I got the spaghetti carbonara for my antipasto and the Tagliata di Manzo for my secondi. The food was tasty and the place is definitely upper crust. They charge $ 8 for an iced tea! The service was friendly and prompt. It’s a great place to go to for a high-end treat. However, the prices are prohibitive for me to be a regular.

A «upper» scale dining experience that did not disappoint! We went for a restaurant week dinner and loved the amazing service, pretty ambiance, and tasty dishes. It was still pretty quiet when we went at seven on a Friday, but we were able to get a great corner booth table and really attentive service for it. By the time we left around 9 it was definitely busier, so I would recommend making a reservation. Ambiance wise it is definitely a white table cloth affair(think snappy casual/formal wear) but refreshingly without any of the needless stuffiness of some of its Central Park South competitors. The service really sent the tone of the night, from little things like calling us by our names to helping us rearrange our place settings. The food is pretty good, but the portion size is exactly what you’d expect from this type of restaurant. It is definitively more of a food«experience» so don’t come having fasted for a week. The reason I’m going with four stars instead of five is that I didn’t think the wine pairings were that thoughtful. They offered an option of wine«tastes» with each course(3) for $ 25/person which was a nice touch in theory, but didn’t seem like they were actually paired for the specific food we ordered. For example, for our apps I got the animelle(breaded veggies and thymus or pancreas gland) and my friend got a chestnut soup, but we both got pinot noirs(which seemed a little heavy for the app course). If I’m going to continue to nit pick, I would say that when the animelle was set down there was a very strong smell of just grease. It ended up being tasty, but that first impression was less then ideal. I would still definitely recommend Sirio’s for celebrating a special occasion, a more romantic date night, or just having a nice dinner with friends.

I was very skeptical about this place after reading a Unilocal review but we decided to try it out since we had already booked the groupon deal. I think other reviewers are correct about the ambiance. I think it is a great place to have your 60th or 70th birthday party not your 21st birthday… if that makes any sense. I might have gotten really lucky since it was a Friday night but our tasting menu was just amazing! We thought we were going to get 5 courses of meh pastas and two desserts but we got one amuse bouche 3 protein courses 2 pasta courses and two spectacular dessert courses! We started octopus(probably one of the best I have ever had), sweat bread course, and amazing chicken course with yummy artichoke purée. I am not a dessert person but the desserts were really amazing as well. I have paid twice as much to go a fancy restaurant for chefs tasting menu and were disappointed few times. This groupon deal was unexpectedly amazing!!!

We were staying at The Pierre for the weekend and woke up to a cold rainy morning. Decided not to wander the streets for breakfast and popped into Sirio for a quick bite before heading to Penn Station for our trip home. Should not have been surprised by the prices considering it was The Pierre but we were a bit surprised by the prices! Let’s just say we were not going to order a $ 28 omelet! So…$ 50 later we enjoyed a bowl of mixed berries, a bagel with cream cheese and salmon and 2 coffees! Was it the BEST berries and bagels I ever had… hmmmmm…couldn’t say for sure. Certainly not worth $ 50. I guess it was worth not having to walk the streets of New York in the cold rain.

Really phenomenal pasta dishes. Really terrible service. We ordered the Grand Chef tasting menu which gave us 5 tastings of their famous pasta dishes, an amuse, a palate cleanser, and a dessert. Each of the dishes were an introduction to Italy in the best kind of way! The managers and some of the servers were running around speaking Italian, so that was a fun little treat as well. While the atmosphere was upscale, the service was not. 2 out of the 5 dishes were not explained to us, nor were we asked if we had any allergies before the tasting began(which is typical for most restaurants that serve a tasting.) Furthermore, we had our waters given to us in the beginning but not topped off until the end. So, we were sitting dry for courses 3, 4, and 5. Not the best experience for $ 125 per person menu.

As with many reviewers I had the Chef’s pasta pre fixe meal with the Groupon. Service was impeccable. The dishes were very pasta heavy and were really of mixed taste for me. I am not a huge risotto fan, so unfortunately the best dishes were served early on leading to a disappoinment in expectations as we went along until dessert which was good.

We went on a Groupon deal and were anxious to check out the place. Décor is plain, refined and somewhat boring; Service was exceptional. There were 4 courses of Pasta which was OK, but not really a tasting menu. They gave us a shot of soup which was delicious and we had real dessert which was fine, drinks were excellent too. But at the end of the evening you couldn’t shake the feeling that you were cheated a bit…

Such a wonderful lunch break that doesn’t empty your pockets. Great food! From the bread and bread sticks to service! My carbonara’s noodles are perfectly cooked al dente. The trout has crisp skin and toasted almonds to die for. Just a lovely Italian food treat!

Too quiet for a loud group to have fun. needs background music a little louder when not busy so other tables aren’t listening/put off their food by the conversations of others. The atmosphere in comparison to the grandeur of the Pierre is dank and boring. The food when it came out(completely wrong) was pretty bad all around. Two of us had the fish and it was actually like a dishrag warmed up to just above room temperature. After such great laughs at the Pierre bar with drinks and few appetisers, we were all looking forward to finally eating at Sirio, but most of us left our meals for disgust and the mood went sour thereafter. Two stars for having the restaurant almost to ourselves and for the proximity to the bar of The Pierre.

This place was so good, from the hostesses — yes, plural, to the décor — I wanna live there, to the service — I wanna live there so they can serve me, to the food — there were some dishes that were so good here it made me extra proud to be part Italian. Again, my servers Altin and Tom were amazing, they truly made us feel like the emperor & empress of the evening. Shanelle was wonderful and warm; I’ll never forget her pretty white teeth. Sirio is part of The Pierre Hotel, so expectations were real high. We had the Chef’s Tasting, which was supposed to be only 5 or 6 courses but they ended up giving us 8 or 9 because that’s how royals roll. They just kept bringing out more and more plates, we felt like Tom Colicchio and Padma Lakshmi on the Top Chef show. The Food: I can’t recall all of the courses, mainly because I was in a food coma by the end of it all, but I do remember some hits(and some misses): –The amuse was a sweet treat; you know a place is fancy when they amuse you. –Spaghettini Tomato Sauce, Five Nut Pesto, Mint, Ricotta(I’m not a pesto fan but this was decent) –Maltagliati Whole Wheat Pasta, Chickpea Purée, Smoked Salmon and caviar(the whole wheat pasta totally destroyed this dish; everything else about the dish was pleasant, but I still left this plate virtually untouched because that chalky whole wheat pasta made me wanna move my feet to the street!) –Tagliatelle Black Squid Ink Pasta, Bottarga di Muggine(I’m not a fan of white sauce, I prefer red, so this dish could have been better to my palate with some marinara; as much as I loved the squid ink pasta, I did not finish this dish due to the Alfredo-like sauce all over it) –Caramelle ButternutSquash Ravioli, Brown Butter, Amaretti(THISWASFREAKIN’ AMAZING!!! This should have been the 1st dish to roll out to the table! And I cannot believe they only featured two ravioli pieces, I’m not on a diet! The ravioli was correct and I love the sweetness of the amaretto biscotti crumbles sprinkled all over the plate. Even the sauce was good. I really wanted to lick the plate, but the Gordon Geckos at the bar were riveted by my face as though it were a flat-screen TV showing an episode of House of Cards or some-junk. Don’t you just hate it when people are all up in your mouth when you did not invite them there?) –Risotto Green Pea, Cuttlefish Sugo, Saffron Sauce(this was good, I actually ate all of this too) –I do not recall the name of this pre-dessert but it was definitely alcoholic. I had to call Betty Ford & Promises for that treat; it was some sort of alcoholic slushie with a nice vanilla cardamom or saffron gelato perched on top. The combination did not seem like it was gonna make any sense when the server described it to us, but it made perfect sense in our mouths. –Dolce Poached Pear, Self-Saucing Milk Chocolate Cake, Hazelnut Crunch, Lemon Crème-Friache Sorbet(this was OK. I liked the poached pear, did not like the dry chocolate cake underneath it. The little artistic cookie was tasty, as was the gelato) –There was another dish I am forgetting but they offered us petit fours with the second dessert, so that was nice and tasty too. –I also enjoyed their sea salt crunch foccaccia; don’t nobody care about high blood pressure when you’re insured by Lloyd’s of London.
