This is one of my favorite bars in NYC, and that’s mostly due to the amazing bartender, Tufail, who makes the best martinis and cocktails in the city. We found this place when we had an hour to kill before seeing a movie at the Regal Theater across the street. We love that this place has beautiful upscale and contemporary décor, and a relaxing & romantic ambience. It has lots of places to sit(unlike so many bars in NYC), including couches, big chairs, and seats at the bar. We went here twice so far on Saturday nights and it was not crowded at all. We got to chat with Tufail and he told us about different scotches & bourbons. I’m not a scotch drinker so I asked him if he could make me something with vodka. He then made me one of the best martinis I’ve ever had! A French martini that has chambord, champagne, and even fresh pineapple purée! Omg. Yum. Also, I must say, Tufail made my husband the best Old-Fashioned he’s ever had. He truly crafts each drink with expertise and care, and it really shows. Definitely check out this place the next time you want a great drink in a relaxing, upscale atmosphere.

I was immediately impressed by the arrangement of seating, the ambience and the bar. Really loved the wood like logs hanging from the ceiling… however they should’ve used fishing twine instead? I think it would’ve been a cooler detail. Seems like the perfect place for a large group to go and have a drink or two before heading out. My friend and I only got a drink and a dessert. My cocktail was fairly large but I didn’t care for it. Not based on the make, just chose the wrong flavor. Volume and strength it was worth it’s price(14 $?). The ice cream Sunday I thought was amazing. I could tell they made the ice cream there and it was true when I asked. I took off one star because when giving our orders, we thought our dessert was coming(about 20min had passed. We were not in a rush really), but the bartender failed to enter it(ok) but the other gentleman that took care of it didn’t seem concerned. So that was off putting. Restrooms is a large room of stalls and unisex. Gender is on a plaque on the stalls or they say unisex. Pretty trendy looking place. I would likely go back with a group.

This place is great for a quick drink and a quiet place to mingle with friends. They have a pretty good happy hour(Monday — Saturdays from 4:30 pm — 7:00 pm) with great deals on select drinks and some pretty yummy Brazilian appetizers to go along with them. I was surprised that the prices were so reasonable especially for a place that appeared so elegant and boutique-y(they definitely keep the mood lighting on), but I’m not complaining. Without the happy hour prices, they are definitely on the pricey side. I love the variety of seating options — cozy couches, a big table, etc. It’s in the same space(on the other side) of the Hyatt lobby, and when I asked to use the restroom, I was directed to the restroom next to the hotel’s fitness center. Overall great service, and a great place to enjoy a conversation over some drinks and food!

An excellent place for a group of friends to gather before heading out for dinner or a night out on the town! Make sure you ask for Tufail: a GREAT bartender!

Excellent almost hidden gem in the lobby of the Hyatt at 13th Street and 4th Avenue. We ordered drinks and they were excellent so we decided to stay for more. The bartender was very attentive and made sure the drinks were to our liking. Perfect vibe to just relax with friends or your special someone. Highly recommend this place and we’ll definitely be back.

Super friendly staff, trendy atmosphere, lots of spacious seating – couch and table options – full bar, but limited selections. There were only 2 types of sparkling white wine by the glass, which took me by shock. But there are a lot of cocktails on the menu that raised my eyebrow. This place is actually kind of hard to find so make sure you go through the entrance on 4th avenue. The best part about this place is that because it isn’t so popular, you can have a real conversation here. Would definitely come back.

Like an airport lounge in Dubai. Expensive and tacky. Decent scotch selection, though.

One Saturday afternoon my friend and I happened upon this place as we were searching for a quiet place to sit and catch up over drinks. I’m so happy we found it. It’s very comfortable yet chic at the same time. The drinks were awesome and our server was really nice. The prices are typical for NYC.

If you are a scotch or wine lover, this is a downtown must Stopped with my «let’s get a Christmas scotch» buddy after being disappointed by the Doyle production of Allegro at CSC. Yay for us, Singl saved the evening. While we deliberated heavily over which scotch flights to try, the well informed and helpful bartender realized we wanted a «tour of the isle» and put together a custom tasting for us of 5 different singe malts(2 Oban, since it is a favorite of ours), and gave us instruction in which order we were to drink them. The space is beautiful, and everything that passed by from the kitchen looked fantastic. The single malt choices are extensive and impressive in style and scope. I will definitely be back — - I did not get a chance to see what is on the single vineyard wine list.

I’ve been to this place a few times now, and have enjoyed myself each time. Picture being in union sq yet feeling like there’s no crowd. Imagine a stylish cavernous room with couches & quick cocktail service. There’s also really good music playing. Sumptuous surroundings… Sexy Even after months of bejng open this is the FTR. Maybe I shouldn’t spoil the secret Enjoy

Has this little nugget really gone undiscovered for 9 months and I’m the first to review? Amazing. It’s part of the Hyatt but really not part of it, managed by a separate entity. But I’ve walked past a bunch of times over the past year it feels like, and always peeped in and wondered what was going on in there. «What are they doing in there??» I’d ask. Last night I finally went in, and it was exceptionally lovely. Warm and a bit hidden, it smelled like angels. Pleasant service, nice tunes, and I think I saw a fireplace. Or I may have just imagined that now, because the overall vibe was just so warm. And then my old fashioned nailed the deal. I was back in the womb.
