Fencing was something I always wanted to do, so when Groupon had a sale going on, I had to take advantage of it. For 3 months I was able to take classes on Mondays and Wednesdays. The instructor was friendly and attentive as well as patient with those of us who were new to it all. They have gear there that everyone can use during class, but if you feel weird about it, then you might want to purchase your own. There were people there with all different levels of experience which was fun in terms of learning. I will definitely be going back as soon as I have a chance.

My daughter attends this school and she loves it. She started out with a free trial class, and has been coming ever since. Jason is the owner, and is very good with the kids. The studio is conveniently located on the upper east side, which is right by my job. My daughter takes classes twice a week after school, and I go once a week in the evening for adult classes. I love the fact that its a sport we can both enjoy together. I’m really into fitness, and I finally have a way to get my daughter on board with me! The best part is that they offer a summer camp program for kids ages 4 – 17, and it goes until the end of August. Most camps are super pricey, and only last until the first week in August. I’m glad I took a chance and tried something new!

The coaches at this club are very unprofessional. Its their way or the highway, and for their prices, you should be sitting on a golden sofa while watching the kids fence. The quality of the coaching is mediocre at best due to unproven and unexperienced coaches. I’d vehemently advise against coming here – you’re better off going to FC, MFC, or(if you can make it) the NYAC.

Love the place. The coaches are professional and work well with the kids of all ages. You can easily see the transition from basics to the more complicated techniques — though I have no idea what I’m looking at. After 3 weeks I assume my 12 year old won’t be ready for the Olympics, but he likes the technical mixed with implied violence. The only issue would be the days when it’s packed w/younger kids who aren’t easy to get focused, the class is less fencing and more babysitting. But if you can go to the less crowded sessions(go any day you please — great for us) you’ll be happy.
