Shawarma House

I got a chicken swharma wrap and I thought it was great. You have a choice of a few toppings including lettuce, cucumbers, jalapeños, chickpeas and hummus. The bread itself is a thin pita. The customer service was great and the employee behind the counter was very kind. He gave a good amount of chicken.

Very good on-​the-​go shawarma spot. My Lamb Shawarma ($ 8) was a bit dry but still very flavorful. Definitely ask for more tahini. The gentleman working there is very friendly and he makes the wrap very neat and tight, making it easier to eat. Thank you Sir!

I love this place!
Came for quick dinner one night and since then I was SOLD! Had the beef, chicken, lamb combo (#3 I think? the $ 10.99 one) at the guy’s recommendation and I was amazed at the quality of the meats (so tender, juicy, and seasoned just right), generous quantity, and amount of vegetables provided on top of the bed of rice! Even had delicious pickles to boot. To be honest, I don’t know shawarma too well but this one kind of set the bar for me.
He also recommended me the Carrot Ginger juice when I asked, and my, not only did he juice right there at the corner of the restaurant, it was seriously delicious — the slight bitterness of ginger balanced out the rich meaty and greasiness of the shawarma and I think my sight got better due to all that betakerotene! (I kid, but you know how you feel when you do good for yer body?) I loved it so much that I delivered 2 to the office the next day for me and friend to chow down. LOVE IT. 5 stars, please keep it up!

This place was a great find for me that work nearby. Authentic middle eastern food at its best! Shawarma, falafel and other specialties. Everything fresh and delicious. The price is right, the portions are very generous and the friendly staff takes care of you. The owner its very nice and it’s always there and you can see that this place means a lot to him. All the other similar restaurants around this area don’t compare to this one and believe me I went to all of them. I highly recommend this place for a take out or to seat in the little counter if you would like to eat there. Awesome food guys!

This place was a great find for me. I just madly in love this shawarma authentic middle eastern food at it’s best ever I seen. This place is awesome also price is cool dud. They guy’s are friendly and a sweet dish they called BAKLAVA ridiculously best as well.

I love the mango lassi and vegetable samosa — products are super fresh and tasty. Great value for quality and price in Midtown. I stop in weekly — and appreciate too the recent renovations that have added a lot to this best kept midtown juice bar & middle eastern light meal secret! Adeel is also very kind — and aims to please his customers.

This place is one of those rare finds; a real diamond in the rough. We stumbled upon this place while hungry and tired after a long day of exploring the city and we were extremely pleased. Despite the fact that it looks like a hole in the wall, the food was delicious and the gentleman from
Bangladesh running the establishment was extremely kind and helpful. We ordered chicken shawarma sandwiches and I was pleasantly surprised to find he served us a new twist on an old classic; layers of tender chicken and all the trappings of the Mediterranean version of the sandwich melded with pleasant flavors of Indian spices. The fresh squeezed juices and smoothies where some of the best and cheapest we had during our week in New York. But the best part was that he offered us free fresh homemade honey baklava because he took a bit longer than expected to serve us while helping other customers. Great guy and great place!

I love shawarma because when it’s made right, it’s dripping with flavor! This is one of those places in which your wrap will be dripping with flavor! A lot of shawarma places take short cuts and don’t have their meats on the rotating rotisserie. Or if they do, they don’t have enough turnover in customers and the meat is dry and flavorless. No such problem here. I will be back!

I think this might be my 1^st review. This place is awesome. So cheap! Lamb shawarma wrap is out of control. Baklava is ridiculously good as well.

Until recently, this part of Midtown has been a culinary desert. Two notable additions to the area have been the long awaited Chick-​fil-​a and the fanatically popular Pokeworks. Off the 6^th avenue on the side streets, I’ve recently noticed a few other options including Shawarma House.
The chicken shawarma there is comparable to the chicken and rice stands all around town. The major differences are in taste and price. Shawarma House’s comes freshly trimmed from a stack of marinated chicken thighs on a spinning spit and the result is a noticeably more flavorful product. The salad is better than the usual iceberg lettuce and tomatoes from the cart. It’s also $ 10 compared to $ 5, still very reasonable. They also have hummus as an alternative to salad.
I would go back again, but am in no hurry. 3.5 stars feels right.

Walked by and the aroma called me in. Ordered a chicken shawarma plate. The chicken was amazing– and so was the rice, Will def be back again!

I got the Lamb and Gyro sandwich with Mango Lassi. While the meat had some flavor and taste, it was not as pronounced nor as savory as one usually expects with Doner sandwiches. The meat was slightly undercooked and the sauce adds not much more than messiness. The mango lassi on the other hand has a solid mix of the texture and taste. I rate this a bottomed out three stars because while the food is not bad, it’s not a place I’d go back to again.
Specifically in terms of halal options, this rating still applies. It’s more worth going to some of the street vendors for this kind of food.

Good basic shawarma. Fast, tasty, pretty friendly. Could be cleaned up a bit and could offer a few more options in terms of what goes into their wraps. But I enjoyed it. It’s not quite a 4 star kind of place, but I would probably go as high as 3.5.

I never really order «juice» for fear of being accused of being bougie, but I had the «all greens juice» from here once, and bruh, pretty sure there’s magic in it.
The samosas are a great snack (a little spicy, and I have a high spice tolerance), and the shawarma platters are good too.
The staff is friendly, so you can sit and chat while you eat. Make a new friend. Good times.

The previous place ‘mmm Enfes’ closed or changed management? I had their stuff during Christmas holiday at Bryant park at their kiosk. Was pretty good. Last week I stopped by the shop to get a Guzleme (Turkish crêpe with filling). Cold, not fresh at all. Shop is not so clean. Disappointed.

Located in the midst of busy streets along 6^th Avenue, I still manage to give these guys my money almost every lunch break. Why? The meats are of high quality, prices are competitive, and they offer quite the variety of tastes. My usual lunch is a combo platter with an all green smoothie: $ 16. It is more money than I shell out elsewhere, but there is something about this place that leaves me wanting it a few more times in the week. You hit all food groups in one sitting. Doesn’t get much better than that.

I had a wrap/​panini today from mmm enfes at Broadway bites for $ 10. The wrap was huge and filling and I was able to build my own with unlimited ingredients (chicken, spinach, corn, scallion, parsley and feta).
Unfortunately there was only one guy making the food and taking the money so the wait was super long. Then I guess since he was in a hurry he took it off the grill without it being properly cooked (the filling/​meat was just lukewarm and some of the pastry was still kind of raw).
The food tasted okay enough but it wasn’t something I would go out of my way to eat again — especially if one or two people were already waiting to have their food made.

I frown as I eat this very sad mixed doner sandwich and wonder, why. Why did I just spend $ 9 on a sandwich and a can of soda for something that just tastes so bad.
First of all, they did NOT cut my meat directly from the spinning cooker. What is the point of having your food in display, slowly cooking, when you are going to pull a bunch of sad meat from a metal tin and then cook it on a hotplate? I’m not sure if that would even pass a health inspection.
They take this giant tortilla, which is odd to begin with, and put a tiny bit of meat in the middle. It was sad really. Then you select your veggies. By the time you’re done you have a terrible ratio of meat to everything else. They drowned my sandwich, which is now a wrap, in hot sauce and called it a day.
I knew just from watching them make it that this was going to suck. And guess what, it did. The meat wasn’t even HOT. How long as this meat been accumulating bacteria in a metal tin? I even asked why they aren’t taking my meat from the rotators and they gave me some weird half assed answer.
Needless to say I will stay away from here. The street meats is significantly better than this and half the cost.

This place used to be called mmm Enfes, but it appears to have switched to new management. The menu is almost the same — Turkish platters, wraps, desserts and drinks. I tried both the lamb sharwarma and falafel from here. The sandwiches come in a flatbread wrap, not a pita like most Mediterranean places. It was an average portion size, about 7 inches long. The lamb tasted fine, but it was a bit dry. With the falafel wrap, they give you five mashed up falafel balls. It was okay as well, though the falafel had an overly bitter taste to it.
All in all, the food was just okay.

This restaurant has only been open 2 weeks and I stopped by to try the lamb platter. Excellent! I talked to the owner/​chef Yusuf (sp?) and he is a very friendly person. He said he has 20 years of experience and that everything is made fresh in house, and that shows in the quality and taste of the food! The baklava was extremely good! Small place with some limited seating, but worth a stop.
They also have smoothies. I went with the mango and it was great.
