Outstanding barber shop! For those on the UES looking for a high quality haircut and a no-​hassle experience, please look no further. Ilyan and the other barbers do a tremendous job. The shop is expansive, modern, and very clean — especially compared to the «hole-​in-​the-​wall» barber shops all over the city.

Please support this barbershop they are truly fantastic. I use Ilayn which always give me the best cut and highly recommend using him. his wife also give a great cut as well if there is wait. They are Very reasonable priced especially for Manhattan. Please check them out, you will not be disappointed! Thank you Ilayn you are a great man.

I’ve been coming to Ilyan for 4 years and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. Best haircut I’ve ever received in my life. He’s a master. On top of that, he’s a great guy who cares about his loyal customers — which is always a nice touch. At this point, all of my friends go to Ilyan and we’re constantly recommending him.
Also, his new shop on 2nd Ave (between 63rd and 64th) is beautiful. Check it out.
Well worth it to go see him!

I would normally never promote something on Unilocal,for fear of it becoming overrun, but for Ilyan, I would lay down in traffic.
Ilyan (Ivan) has been cutting my hair for almost 8 years. He was originally located at Eddy’s on 34th St., between 1st and 2nd. I moved out of the City for several years, and after failed attempts in my new home, I would time my haircuts to coincide with trips back to NYC just to see Ilyan. When I moved back to NYC for good, I texted Ilyan, who told me he opened his own barbershop.
I cannot recommend Ilyan any higher. Previously, I told 3 of my closest friends in NYC. We have all followed Ilyan to his new location. I live in Jersey City now, and I would never go anywhere else.
Again, I don’t recommend places on Unilocal,but I’d trust Ilyan with my hair/​life.

I’ve been having my haircut by Ilayn for the past 4 years! I used to see him on 34th street but he has since moved to this barbershop. The barbershop is kept clean, has all brand new furnishings, but the service and quality haven’t changed. Ilayn still provides the best haircuts and has been friendly since day 1. Definitely recommend getting your haircut here or going for any other barbershop needs.

Just got a very nice cut. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond to make sure it looked great. Was able to walk in and be seen right away. Definitely going back, would certainly recommend it!

If the original Shantl & Co is an indication of professionalism, then its second rendition is more of a great thing. I’ve been a customer of Alex since his days before going independent and could not be a happier customer. Not only do Alex and his colleagues give a great haircut and provide a full service men’s grooming experience, but they also make you feel at home when you enter the shop. Alex has become like family, as a great barber should and that loyalty goes a long way. To many more wonderful years and success at Shantl part 2!
