Finally got a hold of the truck location near my job so I dropped by to try my first schnitzel ever and it did NOT disappoint! I got the chicken schnitzel with mixed greens and Yukon fries. The chicken breast was huge. I want to know what size bra that chicken wore because damn! Crispy and juicy with a splash of lemon, yum. The mixed greens were a bit wilted but the dressing was good. The fries were a little salty but they were golden and crispy. The highlight of the meal though? That garlic relish. Omg, I wanted to put that sh*t on everything. Aside from the minor things, this was a great first time experience.

Twice now, I have gone to where they are scheduled to be at 12PM and they were no where in site. We checked their twitter and homepage for updates and nothing was posted until 12:20PM. By then we had to execute on plan B. The food here is awesome, though. I’d give it 4 stars but how are you not gonna be where you say you are at lunch by 12PM on a Tuesday. If they get back to me, I’ll change this review.

Bad review due mostly to the inefficient line. It was a short line but still waited 26 minutes to get the food. Just not feasible on a work day. Schnitzel itself was light and tasty.

The Schnitzel Game On Point. This truck parks outside of my office building once a week or so, and I never really thought twice about it. Today, I decided to give it a whirl. I ordered the pork schnitzel sandwich with siracha mayo. When I got back to my desk and opened the package, I gasped. This sandwich is the size of a large new born. I had to cut it into not halves, but quarters. Quarters! Multiple pieces of pork schnitzel. The perfect amount of lettuce, tomato & onion. Drenched in siracha. I’m in heaven. This thing packs a Power Rangers level punch.

First time trying this cart and I was pleased with the quality and taste of the chicken schnitzel platter which I opted to get with cucumber salad and their potato salad. I got it with a side of sriracha mayo. They have several sauces to choose from. Next time I’ll try the others. The sandwich is $ 8 and the platter is $ 10. Can’t wait to try their other schnitzels.

Guys who run the truck are pros. But the food is just average. Had the French schnitzel. Fries are really bad.

Had a plate of pork schnitzel with the cucumber salad and potato salad recently. Portion size is quite generous for the money you spend, however I found the schnitzel to be quite dry. The potato salad was decent, but I found the cucumber salad quite acidic. I might have to give them another chance, as I came late in the day. Maybe I need to show up a bit earlier.

Here a schnitzel, there a schnitzel, everywhere a schnitzel. Schnitzel! Food: 3.75 Stars You can’t go wrong with any of the platter dishes. My personal favorite is the chicken schnitzel, but the cod schnitzel is surprisingly a lot tastier than i had anticipated. I regret I had waited so long to try it The vinaigrette with the Mesclun salad is excellent. No would ever describe me as a salad person, but that vinaigrette allowed me to devour it and want more. The fries are pretty good, especially with the variety of sauces(condiments) they have. I highly recommend the«spicy sriracha mayo» and the«pesto mayo.» The Chipotle sour cream is an interesting little sauce as well. I feel that I don’t get the full value if I order a sandwich. The ration of bread/meat is a little too high for me. Service: 4 Stars Solid, friendly service. Speed: 3.75 Stars The line ranges from 5 – 20 minutes depending on the lunch rush and my personal experience. Add another 5 – 10 minutes or so to receive your food. If you go during an off-peak hour the wait is significantly less. Overall: 3.75 Stars The schnitzel is good, but there are a few misses on the overall. The sauces are main reason I kept on coming back as well as the vinaigrette on the mesclun salad. When the dressing spilled over into the fries, they became even better. There were multiple instances where they ran out of chicken & pork schnitzel and occasionally the fries. I can partially understand it since I usually arrived shortly after 1pm. If there isn’t too long a line, they are worth checking out.

Do you like fried chicken? Of course you like fried chicken. Everyone likes fried chicken. I like fried chicken. That’s why I get fried chicken every Monday when the Schnitzel & Things cart is parked up by where I work in Midtown. This is a ritual that I take a bit of shit for at work but is well worth it. I wish they had a phone line for the cart like they do for the truck, but the line usually isn’t too bad. You get your food quickly after ordering unlike some food trucks(looking at you, Carl’s Steaks), the staff is courteous, and given their fame, $ 10 for a platter is reasonable. My go to order is the chicken schnitzel(fried chicken) with french fries, chickpeas, pesto mayo, and chipotle mayo. I used to get the beets with feta at their storefront, but alas the cart never has them. I still get the marinated chickpeas though, which are pretty pitch-perfect in terms of texture as well as flavor. Nice, bright and refreshing. The thinly pounded chicken has a batter that doesn’t overpower the meat, and along with some lemon squeeze on top is good to go even without sauces. But the chipotle mayo and pesto mayo are both good, and I grab them both along with ketchup for the french fries. The fries are simple, hand cut and crispy. All of this together makes a hell of a lunch that almost makes me want to go to work on Monday. Keep parking at Random House, S&T!

I’d give it 3.5 stars, if I could. I’ve been to Schnitzel & Things three times now. The first time, I ordered the eggplant schnitzel platter with Austrian potato salad, cucumber salad, and pesto mayo. I was pleasantly surprised, not knowing what to expect, and not being the biggest eggplant fan myself. 4 stars. The second time, I ordered the cod schnitzel platter. I feel like it wasn’t on the menu the first time I visited the truck, because there’s no way I would’ve chosen eggplant over fish then. However, the fish was relatively tasteless and too oily. I got the Austrian potato salad again, but the sauerkraut was a disappointment, as was the ginger, scallion, and garlic relish. 2 stars. The third time, I went back to my tried-and-true eggplant, opting for roasted beet and feta salad along with(yet again) Austrian potato salad. I either got the spicy Sriracha mayo or pesto mayo, I can’t remember. 4 stars.

Love the Schnitz. Truck was at 47th and Park yesterday. I ordered the pork Schnitz platter with French fries, sauerkraut and chipotle mayo. Outstanding as always and after two no line. The schnitzel was a tasty piece of pork pounded thin and lightly breaded. The sauerkraut was über fresh and yummy. Fries were good as well. My only complaint was not enough mayo. Still I highly recommend if you like schnitzel. For $ 10 it’s a massive lunch deal.

Pretty good food. Cucumber salad was tasty. I do wish they had spetzel though and real German potato salad. Otherwise I’ll be going back when in the mood for Schnitzel. Side sauces were a good American twist to Classic German food.

Holy schnitzel. It’s sooo good to find a new style of food truck once in a while. Great eats. I’ll take a break from eating tacos to enjoi some schnitzel when they are around. Went to these guys a little late in the day, and although they were packing up, don’t take credit cards, they hung around and waited for me while I made an extended trip to the ATM. Food was delicious and hit the spot for a hungry man. Bangin!

5 $ Bratwurst please, yes everything on it.(LOVEMESOMEBRATS)! Expecting the worst I patiently waited for about a min before he pulled off a giant piece of tin foil and started to wrap up a very large sandwich that I could not believe was mine… but there was nobody else around. Yes it was mine! This massive roll certainly had some heft to it. A nice brat lay in between, split in half as to cover more of the roll. Slathered with a very creamy mustard and what I can only imagine was home made slaw. All sandwiches can always use more filling IMO you could easily fit 2 or 3 more bats in this roll. But hey I’m not complaining. I would much prefer a nice massive roll then a pathetic piece of bread. On the BITE scale, the Bee defiantly comes first on this one.

Great lunch grab back on Columbus Day while downtown. I celebrate Meatless Mondays, what’s it to you, so I was so excited to see they had eggplant schnitzel as an option. I have had their traditional pork schnitzel as well. For both the eggplant and the pork, they breading was a perfect crispy layer where the crunch held up even after about 15 mins in the to go container. Usually, steam is the death of anything crunchy, but these Schnitzel and things items held up. I usually go with the siracha mayo as a topping, potato salad and cucumber salad as my sides. These above options are also offered as a sandwich too. Definitely one of the best food truck options in all of the city. Keep on truckin’

Been wanting to try this food truck for ages. Never seemed to catch it at the right time. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with cucumber salad and fries and pesto mayo. The $ 10 plate is a bit expensive for a food truck but you get a generous portion. The chicken was tender, the breading crispy and not too heavy, and it was properly«flattened.» I was a little disappointed that the cucumber salad was chopped up pieces of cucumber rather than the thin slices, but it tasted good. Fries are nothing special, I’d skip those. The pesto mayo had too much pesto. Good, but not great. Still, it’s a decent meal for what it is. I don’t know how much greater a piece of flattened breaded meat can be.

Many people at our work look forward to Thursdays just because they know that this truck will be near our office. They look out the windows to try to make sure it’s there before going down en masse. If you can get to the truck before 12:00pm, you can avoid most of the lines. It gets worse the closer you get to 1:00pm. I have tried both the chicken schitzel platter and the cod schnitzel sandwich. The platter was really good — huge piece of chicken with lots of dipping sauces(ask for them to give you a few). Loved the spicy creamy sauce(mayo?). You get to pick two sides. The beets with feta and the potato salad were both really good. The sandwich was pretty good as well — a crunchy fish sandwich. Wish it came with fries or something else.

I’ve been wanting to cross this food truck off my list for a long time, but our schedules never seemed to sync. Well today the stars aligned! First, the line was a lot longer than those at the other trucks which would normally send me elsewhere, but I’ve been Ahab to this motorized Moby Dick for too long. I’m sure one of the reasons for the popularity of this truck is the utterly charming woman staffing the counter. She engaged each customer with a smile, and even recognized some regulars even though I can’t imagine this truck is at this site enough for her to know names. Maybe food trucks have their own form of «Deadheads» who follow their noses much like music fans followed Jerry Garcia? OK, ancient reference, I know… I read it off a clay tablet. SOOOOO anyway, I had wanted the veal schnitzel, but it was probably under the black tape on the menu and substituted the pork. It’s more traditional anyway. I added the roasted beets and feta and the Austrian potato salad(you get two sides with your $ 10 platter) and headed back. The pork cutlet was, as promised, pounded flat and perfectly fried. The potato salad was probably a bit under-seasoned but the beets were really amazing. It was a terrific lunch and worth waiting for to finally land one of my culinary White Whales.

Yum yum yum. I love when I find out about different food trucks in the neighborhood. Schnitzel & Things was parked at the same spot Joyride was at yesterday. Today after my meeting, I went and tried out Schnitz. There were people standing in front but turned out they were just waiting for their orders patiently. Didn’t take long to wait – at most 5 min. I went with the cod platter with sauerkraut and potato salad(per fans’ recommendations). My condiment of choice = spicy sriracha mayo. Hey, for $ 10, I got a good-sized lunch! Fresh ingredients and the cod was perfectly flaky. I didn’t think the mayo was too spicy but nonetheless it was a tasty dip for my schnitzel. Next time, panna cotta dessert!

We found out that Schnitzel & Things was only open between 11:30 — 2:00 so we made it a point to give them a try since we were in the city. I haven’t had schnitzel for almosts 3 years and I have to say this pretty much hits home! You can’t beat the price! $ 8 for a Schnitzel sandwich or $ 10 for a Schnitzel plate. The sandwich comes with your schnitzel choice(chicken, pork, cod, and another one i can’t seem to remember.) lettuce, tomatoes, and a condiment. The plate comes with your schnitzel, codiments, and 2 sides. Our order was ready within 5 minutes, pretty quick considering there was a lunch line! We both got chicken schnitzel’s but I got the sandwich and my hubs got the plate. The sandwich was huge and the ciabatta bread was great! I couldn’t believe it was only $ 8. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out! We absolutely LOVED this place, so much my husband fell a sleep RIGHT after eating his plate, haha!
