Craptastic Manicure! I was meeting a friend for dinner and had about an hour to kill so I decided to get a quick manicure. Ordeal would be an understatement. They have a great selection of nail polish — both Essie and OPI. I selected a pale OPI shade then decided I wanted red. The manicurist all but rolled her eyes at my choice — If memory serves me, I didn’t ask her opinion. She put on 3 coats of the polish. 3. Coats. Of. Polish. With base and top coats, that is 5 coats of nail polish. Even after indulging in a 10 minute massage, my nails were not even close to being dry. I nicked 2 nails and to fix them, they added 2 more coats of polish which dried to a thick, lumpy mess. My were chipped within 2 days of the manicure. Safe to say I am not coming back.

They were so great, friendly and kept our son occupied with a hand massage while my husband got a massage. Definitely recommend his place to anyone. My gel manicure was great

Came in for a pedicure. I had to wait which was fine. I waited in a pedicure chair and got a nice massage as I was waiting. There’s a great selection of OPI and Essie colors. The experience was great. The price is a bit above others but the massage at the end, as well as the dry oil was worth it.

A little pricey but it is in a touristy area. Really can’t complain about the gels I have gotten here they do a very nice job.

So this is basically what NY Nail Land is calling themselves now under new management. I’ve been going to NY Nail Land for almost two years now as my go-to manicures spot since it is super close to my home and office and I haven’t really had any qualms with it. They are clean, have a good selection of colors, and is priced reasonably for midtown Manhattan($ 14 for a basic manicure). Before I would have given it 3.5 stars. Ever since management changed, I have been less happy with the services I have received here(ironic since new management is typically supposed to improve an establishment). I came in once for a color change and the manicurist was quick and sloppy and quite a bit of color ended up on the skin around my nails. On my most recent visit, I came in and needed to get my gel color removed, along with a basic manicure, and was quoted $ 25. With manicures at $ 14, that puts my gel removal at $ 11(what was previously a ~$ 5 service). I don’t know if the woman made up the number of the spot but I found it to be quite steep. Two stars is a bit harsh but three stars feels generous. The manicurists are generally friendly and do a good job, but unfortunately my last experience was slightly off-putting. I will inevitably be here again given it’s proximity, but if you are looking for a place to try in this general area, I would recommend Nail Bella over this spot.
