Sandra’s & Donath’s Florist

Like I mentioned in my first review for Sandra’s and Donath’s, I contacted Customer Service via their website letting them know that we received flowers that were not in good condition.
They emailed us back on Monday morning, letting us know that they’ll send over a new arrangement in the afternoon. No questions asked.
We received our second arrangement of flowers and they are much fresher.

Very displeased with this florist. I received a bouquet from my parents. It came in a plastic vase which I thought was odd (my parents are better than that at ordering flowers for me). I sent a pic to my mom and found out it was not even close to what they ordered for me. She had a replacement bouquet sent to me that was even worse. Yes they put it in a glass vase this time but not a single one of the lillies had opened and the arrangement does not look full at all. There are also leaves that have been eaten by bugs, the roses are already wilting, and one of the filler flowers is literally falling apart. Flower deliveries are supposed to make people smile — this one does not.

I ordered flowers for my anniversary thru AVAS
that utilized this florist. I had hoped that care and attention would have utilized on such an important event. However, when I got home to see the arrangement, I was in horror and intensely disappointed at the inferior arrangement of flowers. Not only the flowers did not even come close to the arrangement presented on the website, BUT THE VASE WAS BROKEN. After AVAS Flowers attempted to contact them, they refused to reimburse me or even send another arrangement. They only were willing to replace the broken vase… how does that help me or make amends for my wife’s anniversary gift. I took a picture of what I received and what was advertised. I sincerely wish I would be able to post it here so you can see the proof of my disappointment. I did contact my bank and disputed the pending charge for cancellation. I will continue to look for other media to make the public aware and will even take this to small claims court on principle alone to avoid this from happening to anyone else. CAVEAT EMPTOR.

Really cute little flower shop that was close to where I was staying. Excellent customer service. When the flowers I had in mind were unavailable the staff came up with a great and even better alternative!

My friend and I came to Sandra’s Florist to look for exotic flowers for our friend’s bridal shower and had the BEST experience. Although there were not too many options of exotic stems for purchase in the store (because it was the end of February) we were pleasantly surprised to learn that «anything was possible». We were greeted by Erica who was warm and attentive and helped us zero in on what our vision was for the shower. Erica was amazing and told us that she would special order some different options for us THAT NIGHT, so we could pick up the arrangement the next morning — early enough so we could have it for the shower that afternoon. I mean — how awesome is that?!! We were super happy and impressed with our options that next morning. Erica did an excellent job finding what we wanted and making an arrangement for us to easily transport and put in a vase when we got to the shower. I would HIGHLY recommend this florist. Our best friend loved the flowers and they really stood out during the shower.

This place is everything you’d expect from a local family-​owned flower shop, and yes you take the good with the bad – but it’s mostly good. I’ve gone in here a couple of times to pick up a bouquet for a friend who lives across the street, and have also ordered flowers to be delivered, and the service has always been personal and friendly, though I can see why some would get the impression that the older lady is a little grumpy. To me however, she’s always been a doll, and once let me duck in right at closing time when the gate was already half down, even allowing me to wheel my bicycle inside to save me the time of having to lock it up down the block.
I don’t know a ton about flowers but the selection is nice. Also, they will make great recommendations about what kind of bouquet to put together if you only have a vague idea of what you want. Something obviously any florist would or should do, but the interactions I’ve had here have always been pleasant.

Erika is a godsend. Went in to get an idea of their centerpiece and bouquet prices, and ended up staying for maybe 45 minutes talking flowers with her. Super helpful, really knows her stuff, and is looking out for her brides, saving them money and stress– which is exactly what I need. She guides you through everything, works around all your wedding details– style, venue, tables, décor, to put together the perfect arrangement within your budget. And I find that the ones that send you off telling you to check out their competitors are the ones worth coming back for. Which is what she did, and I’ll be going back.

Erika took such good care of me. I ordered my wedding flowers from her online as I live in Florida. She was so accommodating and helpful! The flowers were exactly what I wanted, and she even made me a throw away bouquet. She made sure I had them first thing on Sunday morning even though the wedding wasn’t until the afternoon. Erika is a gem!

Similar issues as the other Unilocalers here. Got a order of flowers that was not what I picked out. Day of pick up I got something that looked totally different and was wilted and the stems of the flowers falling out. Had to scramble and go to another florist. Could’ve ruined a nice night if I stuck with this order giving my significant other some wilted orange flowers (ordered pink and white). Got a refund and the lady gave it to me out of her pocket, strange. Old school hoodwinkers. Better quality flowers at a bodega.

So I received a bouquet from them. It was supposed to be a special day and to be honest, the flower arrangement I received from them was very disappointing. The materials they used were not only different from the picture advertised but significantly inferior (instead of a basket or tin, a white cardboard box). The flowers were supposed to be three colors and they only included two. And on top of that, some of the cheaper flowers in the arrangement were already wilted and limp. I received two bouquets today. This one looks sad and pathetic next to the other.

Called about flowers for the opening night of a friend’s show next week. A woman answered with, «No deliveries today» and hung up. The call lasted six seconds and I didn’t say a word. Wow! I’ll pass.

Wish i could describe the owner as a «nice, old lady» but in reality she is a bit crabby but we have developed a nice banter. We always haggle over price. Usually she ends up giving me a good deal. I always oversee what flowers they are selecting to make sure im getting good quality. the arrangements are always nicely done. If you go into the store to pick out your flowers, and are comfortable haggling, i can highly recommend this place. they do a nice job and give a fair price.

I received a bouquet from this florist for Valentine’s day. While it was delivered on time and smells great, the reason I have to give 3 stars is that several of the flowers were starting to wilt the day I got the arrangement. Less than two days later, I’ve already had to remove 3 dead flowers from the vase.

Erica from Sandra’s and Donath’s is incredibly inventive and creative. And affordable. Truly the best vendor from our wedding. She really knew how to incorporate color schemes into beautiful floral arrangements. We used her for corsages, buttonieres, bouquets, centerpieces and wedding ceremony pieces.
Don’t let the cheesy website fool you… Go in for a consultation. You won’t be disappointed.
