Two stars for having the bestest (I know it’s not a word but should be) nails done by Josephine manicure that last, with out any chip for literally 2weeks. However the reception are the WORST, your $ 64 and time is not appreciated. A salon which does celebrities, thinks they are doing us a favor which the Samuel Shiriqui don’t respect or appropriate there clients. Without our business there’s no business. HORRIBLE

Easily the best manicure and pedicure I have ever had. Katrin is the absolute best. Maria and Rosa are also very good. Clean, friendly and great coffee.

Let me preface this with the fact that I am not someone who typically complains (I know, ironic right but, it is true). With this said, my experience here was less then satisfactory. First– my Mani and Pedi were booked at the same time, which is not what I requested when booking. This wouldn’t be a big deal however, their set up to do this is really uncomfortable, particularly when one is injured, as I am. I pointed this out and nothing was done to even attempt to make the situation better.
Secondly, and most importantly, are my complaints with sanitation. During my mani/​pedi I noticed that the techs were getting cream out of a jar with their hands~ there are implements for this so as not to spread germs. Also, my pedicurist used her fingernail to clean up my cuticles when she was done polishing. Again, this is what implements are for~ this is not safe or sanitary. Hello~ these things are how people catch things like MRSA.
Then comes the bang trim, to which my stylist trimmed them crooked and then blamed that on the fact that «he doesn’t usually do bang trims», if this is the case, don’t touch my bangs with scissors. I had to go somewhere else to work on fixing these.
Perhaps the most disturbing of all was the fact that when I complained to management, they did not seem the least bit concerned with this or genuinely apologetic. Definitely would never send anyone here.

I was there yesterday just for some kerastase vials, the lady at the entrance was nice and helpful, the salon is very nice and stylish. Unfortunately I found the same vials along Lexington ave for 10 $ less but that was my fault!!!

This review is for Brad John the oh so egotistical colorist. While the Salon is a pretty space and the owner is very nice, this colorist has an awful temper and was in fact aggressive and rude to me. He books way too many appts at one time and pretty much throws the highlights on each head, without much care for his clients. I could not ask him any questions as he would bark right back at me with an annoyed look on his face. I work in sales and would never treat my customers this way. Bad business on his end. Horrible attitude.
Do not bother.

This review is for the Essie Flagship Salon located inside Samuel Shriqui.
The manicure was (and still is) outstanding. One week later, and the polish is intact, as well as my nails and cuticles. No skin tags or funky cuts. Maria was most excellent, and knows exactly what she’s doing when it comes to a manicure.
My pedicure was good, but hasn’t held up to the lasting polish. By day two I had little smoosh marks, but that could be due to my feet being held up in boots. For the price of the pedicure, I’d skip it. No real massage chairs or long foot/​leg massage. The pedicure though was great in terms of nail cutting, shaping and removing dead skin.

This review is only for general salon, not the specific color teams which are Five Star.
Don’t you hate it when a business offers a Unilocal check in offer, in this case a mani and blow out for $ 80, only to be told it wasn’t valid? Then why have it on Unilocal.I’ve seen it advertised the past six months or so and tried to use it for the first time today. At least honor it this one time and then take it down. Unacceptable.
And, the times I’ve actually tried to get manicures here, they are always full so what’s the use. Head downtown to get fun nails done anyhow.
Skip this salon except for the excellent colorists.

Ever since I started having my hair highlighted by Linda McDaniel, I am always complimented on how beautiful and natural my hair color looks. I have tons of long hair and I’m always so impressed with how thorough and fast she is. She listens to her clients –making me blonder in the summer and adding low lights in winter. I know of a couple of instances when clients have «cheated on her» in an attempt to save money. but they always come back. She really is the best!

I can’t say enough AWESOME things about my fab hairdresser, Jacqueline Nicole. When I first went to Jackie, I hadn’t been to a hairdresser in a year. My hair was ‘split-​end central’, to say the least. Jackie worked with me to bring health back into my tresses, so much so that, today, I have shiny, soft and thick long locks that I receive compliments on almost daily! I always wanted to try long hair but never thought I had the hair to do it. Well, Jackie made it possible. We’ve been growing my hair for the past few years with trims and styling (Jackie’s speciality!!) every 6 – 8 weeks. I recently decided to lighten my hair and wanted to go blonde immediately! But Jackie took the integrity of my hair into account, making sure to take it one step at a time.
Beyond grateful to Jackie for helping me to feel more beautiful than I could’ve dreamed.

I have been getting my hair cut by Jacqueline for over 4 years. She gives me the best haircuts I have ever received. She knows what is suitable for my shape face and cuts my hair accordingly, with a stylish look. She has golden hands, or golden scissors. I can’t imagine anyone else cutting my hair. I highly recommend!

Beautiful, sleekly designed salon with attentive service and top-​notch artists. I have known Steven and Dayler since I was little when my mother started going to Josephine Allen’s old nail salon. They are incredibly sweet and talented. Linda is a master colorist and has been doing my hair for years. I always get compliments on my blonde highlights. Also, Essie herself gets manicures here ;-)
