I had my eyelash extensions done here and had the absolute worst experience Ive ever had in my entire life. I’ve been doing lash extensions for a few years, so I consider myself a pro in how they should look. I unfortauntely was in a rush to get them done before my trip the next day and JJ eyelashes was booked, so I came here.
Avoid the technician who put them on me, — she is late 40s-50’s, and from some state in the middle of America, forgot what she even said. And the owner herself was also rude. The technician was friendly in the beginning but when i opened my eyes i was shocked!
1) The lashes were all over the place, with large spaces in between them! Not professionally done at all. She claimed I didnt have enough lashes there, but as shes telling me this, I’m clearly looking at my natural lashes in between the gaps! 2) The extensions should be placed at the base of the lash line. She put some half way on my natural lash, some a quarter way up — it was all at varying lengths! It looked as if I had them on after 2 weeks of growing them out! Not a natural lash line at all! 3) They told me prior to my purchase, that my set would be 60 lashes per eye and this was no where near that. To prove my point, I actually counted them at 35. She even told me to lay down and she herself counted 40. Unbelievable. 4) When I asked her to put additional lashes, like we agreed to, she was SO RUDE. She fought me tooth and nail. 5) She tried to charge me extra to put additional lashes in — then the owner herself came over and was also rude. I had to explain to the the owner the issue, then she agreed to not charge me, reluctantly. 6) They ended putting only maybe an additional handful in. Still not as advertised. They told me I don’t have enough lashes. Meanwhile when I go elsewhere (like JJ eyelashes) I get 90 lashes per eye — easily! And they are all on the base of the lash line.
What angered me the most, was just how she didn’t own up to her lack of quality job. And then she was so rude about it. Even after she agreed to put additional lashes, I could tell she was so angry and her hands were shaking the whole time on my face, as she’s putting the glue on my eyelid. I didnt even want her to touch my eyes again!!! She is emotionally and professional unstable, unprofessional, and has a bad attitude. This establishment is terrible. They truly do not deserve the business. Go somewhere else!!!

Love Royal hair extensions and been going there for at least 3 years. Bernice is super friendly and she knows HAIR EXTENSIONS!!! I love the result every time. They look super natural, the extensions are great quality, I actually have dyed them in the past with no problem! This girl is a hair extension whisper!

I love these lashes so much. I went in with a groupon before thanksgiving, and I said whatever it costs just make them as full as possible. The tech totally listened to exactly what I wanted. They’re so full and so beautiful! I went today for a two week fill-​in and barely needed anything done. And the suite is so clean and overlooks the middle of Rockefeller center. They also have an extensive stock of hair extensions that they install in-​house. Would totally recommend this place.

I can’t look at myself without lashes now! All the technicians are so skilled and so so sweet! My only lash place!

The salon is so intimate and the vibe so positive!.Star did such a great job and both ladies are professional and warm! I will never wear false eyelashes again! Great choice whether you’re a performer like me or just want to enhance your inner diva!

Desiree did my mink lashes and actually put time into care about my lash as apposed to giving me the GLAM eye.
They have so many curl lashed to choose from. Nice cooling pads are set under ur eyes while they are doing the lashes.

Have been going to Star for eyelash extensions for a while now and she’s fantastic. She always does a great job, I come out looking and feeling fantastic and the lashes stay on about 3 weeks. I’ve gone to many different people before so I can compare and she’s great! Highly recommend.

They look pretty good, but if I’m totally honest the right eye is sooo annoying feeling! Ack! Every time I sneezed it felt like I was going to crack my eyelashes off.

Purchased a groupon for a partial lash set and quickly went in for an appointment with Star. I was visiting New York for the week and needed a fill. When I went in, she took off all my lashes that were already glued on (apparently they were not placed on with strong glue, however they have lasted long in the past). Since this is a standard procedure for cleaning, I didn’t think twice about it. Then she proceeded to charge me extra for removing all my lashes and placing new ones on.
At first, I was satisfied with my new lashes — they looked great and natural. My appointment was on Thursday. It’s five days later and I’m already making another appointment to go in as soon as possible at a different location. It has been FIVE days and nearly all my lashes have fallen off! Normally extensions last 3 weeks for me. This lash set was poorly done.
I find it very hypocritical for Star to have talked negatively about the last esthetician to do my lashes then have these lashes fall off within a week. I’ll never go back and I feel like I have wasted $ 60 on a lash removal appointment. If I could give zero stars I would.
Update one week later: three days after I posted this review the business reached out to me. They left me a voicemail saying they were hurt by my review and wanted me to call back so we could come to a solution. They also corrected me saying I came in on Friday, not Thursday. My apologies, correction to the above, my lashes completely fell out within FOUR days, not five.
I called back the next day, she continued to discuss how she was deeply hurt and said my extensions must have fallen out due to natural growth and did not take any responsibility. I proceeded to explain how I’ve had my lashes done for about a year now, they have never fallen out this quickly, and the extensions also fell off without my natural lash. Thus it was not a natural growth issue at all. She proceeded to explain how she would have offered a full new set if I hadn’t posted the Unilocal review, but because I did, the damage was already done and a refund was not possible, then hung up on me. I went in to get a fill, only one week after this visit to Royal Hair, and had to get a full set of lashes. Again, zero stars if I could.

I have been getting hair extensions along with my best friend for over a year. After doing some research I found Bernice at Royal Hair Extensions.
I have never been so happy.

My hair has never looked so natural! Not only does she take the time to figure out what method is best for you but she will literally squeeze you in if you need her to fix something no matter how booked she is that day. She is so professional and exceptional at what she does.
It is so hard to find a GREAT place that is conveniently located and doesn’t rip you off!
Bernice is the best and if you were struggling to find the perfect person who actually cares about her clients and her craft, look no further!
I am posting this to hopefully help anyone out there. I wasted so much time and money in the past. I wish I would have known then what I know now :) :)

After losing all of my self esteem from a bad hair stylist, I was reluctant to step foot into another salon. I called around to find affordable hair extension but read of all the horror stories. I knew that getting quality hair was going to cost me. I finally called royal hair extensions and spoke to a woman who was so so so kind and informative. She told me that Bernice, the woman who handles hair extensions, was not in the salon right now but would have her call me. Not even 10 min later, i recieved a call from the lovely Bernice! She spoke to me and reassured me that she would do everything she could to help my situation. I was expecting the wait time to be weeks, however, she had an opening that night! Like i stated earlier, I was nervous. I brought a friend with me. Bernice welcomed us with water, wine, and great company. She has a HUGE selection of hair IN SHOP. She went through all of the techniques and options for extensions. We came to the conclusion of fusions being the best bet. I know that they can be very time consuming and assumed it would be a consult. She insisted that if I wanted to get them today that night, she would be HAPPY to help. 4 hours later on a WEDNESDAY i left the salon with long, healthy, natural looking extensions WITHIN THE SMALL BUDGET I HAD TO SPEND! Her customer service and her knowledge of hair sets her apart from all of the other salons. She cares about what you have to say and makes sure tahat you have the routine to support the care extensions take. I would recommend anyone in NYC that wants extensions, should visit Royal Hair.

I love these lashes! I honestly should have done this years ago, it makes getting ready in the morning a lot easier. As for Royal Hair, my experience was great. Bernice is very sweet and the salon is really pretty. I was a little concerned about choosing the right length for my face or if it was dangerous etc… None of those concerns were valid… Their price was very reasonable, the stylist chose the perfect length/​type for my face, she was really gentle and the whole process was relaxing. I think I dozed off and woke up gorgeous! It’s been several weeks and I am still getting compliments. Totally recommend!

Amazing!!! I currently went in to get hair extensions and I was so shocked on how great a job they did. They were very honest with me when consulting them about extensions. Their main girl for extensions, Bernice, is fantastic at blending color. People can’t even tell I got extensions done. Also I met many of their staff during getting my extensions and they were so funny and cheery, a very nice group of employees. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my hair because they did such an amazing job and I’m in love with my hair now!!!

Horrible eyelash extensions never go there. Red & white spa is great. Never horrible too short no dramatic eyelashes extremely hard in texture. Not experienced eyelash tech. Don’t go !!! Don’t use. Say away far away

Was my second time ever getting eyelash extensions and I will not be returning. My first time at a different location was relaxing and I was thrilled with the results. It was more expensive but worth the money.
The building this place is located in is pretty nice so I was expecting more from the actual salon. They need to work on their atmosphere.
Anyway, I told the gentleman that I wanted dramatic and long 14 preferred. Somehow from this he insisted a mix of 10 11 and 12. We start and the fan he has me hold is way too big. I’m shivering and my arm is tired from trying to hold the fan away from my chest as I am just getting over a cold. We turn the fan off for a few minutes after I complain but it is however necessary so we have to turn it back on. This experience was far from relaxing. I felt like I was at work. Once he is done I get up and as I expect I am underwhelmed because the lashes are way too short. He still continues to insist that it looks fabulous although there are mirrors and I am well aware that I did not get what I asked for. Although he «loves» it its my face. I am told next time I can go longer. However there will not be a next time. This was a waste of money. I’ve only given two stars because the owner and gentlemen were both very nice and even tho the end result was not good I don’t think they were purposely malicious.

The one star is for the doorman, who was gracious and pleasant. Otherwise this place doesn’t deserve any. Made an appointment for today at 9:30 am and no one showed up. Got an unapologetic call at almost 10 to tell me, I just missed you… Really? No, I waited for over 40 minutes, because as usual I am always a few minutes earlier for my appointments. Needless to say, I will not be going to this place again. And by reading one other review this is a common practice. Please save your time and money and go some where else.

I get lashes done at this location and I am always happy with the results. I get a lot of compliments by people who think they are real because the cat-​eye is so natural that my eyes smile at you even when I am not wearing make-​up or eye liner. Another thing that I am happy about is that MY actual lashes have never been damaged. I’ve been getting them done for over 2 years and the individuals have always been good for me. I highly recommend Royal hair for lashes and the before and after that I have seen for women who get hair extensions is good too. Enjoy your lashes: D
