Like the Met, like archaeology… you have to make this place a MUSTVISITPLACE. I have followed the Royal Athena for years as it is an advertiser in Minerva– a magazine on ancient antiquities and archaeology from the UK. I pick one up when I am in Seattle on travel. So, in my straw fedora, wearing my tourists shorts no less, I stumbled upon this gallery amidst the exterior remodel they had going on. They were polite, let me look, and truly this is a place to visit. All of the items are for sale with prices ranging from hundreds of dollars to hundreds of thousands… but wow — each piece is described, each piece is truly remarkable to see. The staff are helpful if you have a question, and seemed genuinely pleased when I explained how happy I was to have stumbled across their door and why I knew about them. Add this to your visit to NYC. I will on my next time in NYC… and if I ever win the lottery… oh these folks will be very well rewarded! ;-)

Wow, this place is amazing. On a square foot basis I don’t think I’ve found any museum with ancient artifacts that can compete. This place is loaded with ancient sculptures, art, items, coins, etc. Its really unbelievable.
