hasan did a great job with my hair, I walked in knowing I wanted to color it but had no idea what color, he told me I should go light and do bayalage and I let him have 100% creative control and I’m so in love with it. he was really friendly as well as the rest of the staff. I will definitely be going back.

Beth, from Robert Daniel’s, who is amazing, as you know, will be leaving and relocating to Salon Evolution on Emmons Ave in Sheepshead Bay, as well as Ariel, the colorist. Her last day at Robert Daniel’s is this Sunday, April 26^th, and will begin at Salon Evolution on Wednesday, April, 29^th at 11 am. Salon Evolution is located at 3075 Emmons Ave. At Brown St next to Maria Restaurant.

After twenty two years of working for Studio 19 Salon and Spa, and one intolerable year under the new mismanagement of Robert Daniel Salon, Manny The Colorist has thrown in the towel and moved to David James Salon in Mill Basin Brooklyn. Appointments with Manny can be booked by dialing 718−444−4040. Work hours are 8AM to 630PM Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Advance Booking Privileges remain as usual. David James Salon has been around for almost 50 years. It is a bright, energetic space with a talented staff and a focus on guest relations. I promise you that a visit to Manny’s new location will not disappoint you. The salon is conveniently located off Avenue U at the corner of Mill Avenue and Strickland Avenue with ample parking for everyone. Thank you.

I went to the location on Brighton beach a year ago. This year on my birthday I decided to make a treat to myself and get a nice haircut. After reading the reviews I decided to make an appointment with Beth… After the work was done I realized that I will never ever let any other hairstylist to touch my hair. She knows what she is doing and she always asks what YOU WANT on a first place. Great professionalism together with such an interesting and extraordinary personality! I wish I had the words to express how amazing everything was. I don’t have to blow dry my hair for them to look just perfect.

It is my second time here and I love it. Diana washed my hair and blow dried it. Vlada did my haircut. Both of them were really sweet. Vlada is very efficient and professional. I always cut my hair straight to keep its length and beauty, and I trust my hair with Vlada. It grows really fast afterwards. The ladies serve you free cappuccino and coffee with cookies. I find it a great addition to the facility. I made my appointment at 5:15pm and I was taken care of about 15 min later. I did not mind the wait cause I was reading a great book (mcat lol). I paid 35 $ for the haircut. I think it is a great price for a great haircut. I recommend.

Beth is a real pro. She knew everything about my thick, frizzy hair within seconds of looking at it, and knew exactly how to cut it to work with my personal style. She doesn’t shill hair products that don’t work, and was on the level with me about how to care for my hair on a budget. I will definitely be back.

Finally found a good salon in Brooklyn. Beth gives me a great haircut and color. Don’t have to shlep out to Long Island anymore!

Beth is my best hair cutter and stylist. She listens when I say «sexy and flowing like Victoria Secrets models!» For the first time ever, I don’t have to wait a month or two to START liking my hair cut! In the past, I was told «your hair is in shock now, after it grows a bit, you will love it!» WHAT? I HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT TO GROW BEFORE I LOVE IT? I LOVE MY HAIR RIGHT AFTER BETH DOES IT AND CONTINUE TO LOVE IT BC IT GROWS OUT NICELY! My husband’s comment: «She’s a professional, you can see it by her cut!» Enough said. Thanks Beth, still lookin great!!!

Some of the stylists here do excellent work (5 star) which is why I have given Robert Daniels a 3 star rating, but the salon itself is poorly managed (1 star).
Ariel does beautiful highlights and is very sweet. Sioux and Beth both do great cuts… very meticulous and they LISTEN, something that is hard to find in a stylist sometimes. All three women are very skilled and do beautiful work. 5 stars for cuts and color.
The salon itself though, is a disaster. I had high hopes when Studio 19 was first sold and became Robert Daniels because the old salon, while well managed, needed a makeover. It was very dark and dated. They lightened up and painted things white, which helped brightened the place, but then they kinda stopped with the renovations. They desperately need to improve the shampoo area. The chairs are cheap, awful and very uncomfortable and your back gets wet during a wash. They put in a bar area (???) but didn’t upgrade the 1982 shampoo chairs… huh?
It’s getting harder and harder to get an appointment. Lots of new people there and reliable stylists who I depend on have fewer and fewer hours. I wonder if they are trying to force out the Studio 19 stylists and replace them all. The atmosphere seems very tense now too since management has changed. It seems like there is a different shampoo girl there every time I go there now (and some of them are really not good at all).
Professionalism has gone downhill. I was really upset when my appointment was changed at the last minute because they decided to close the salon for Shuvot. You know the holiday is coming. if you are that observant, don’t take an appointment! I rushed home from work to get to my appointment on time to find the place closed and a sign on the door. I realized later that they had left a voice mail for me 3 hours before. An appointment should only be canceled with such little notice in case of an emergency like the stylist getting sick. This was not ok and if it were not for the fact that I really like the work that the stylists do I would have changed salons.

I’ve been going to this salon since it was Studio 19 for many years. Currently Arielle does my color and Beth my haircuts. I cannot say enough about them both. They are both professional and true artists. Arielle’s color has become my favorite since I started coloring my hair 15 years ago. She told me she worked with Vidal Sasson and I can see that when she is doing other heads. She is creative and her hair color suits each person she works on. Beth is a precision cutter and she is a perfectionist. But best of all, she listens to what her client wants. I love my short haircut — the most important thing about a haircut is that the client be able to work with it every day when they do their hair. With Beth’s haircut, I am able to do my hair they way I see it should be. That has not always been the case. There have been haircuts where I walked out of the salon crying!!! Beth and Arielle are wonderful and I highly recommend them! I must also praise Norma who does my manicures and pedicures. She is wonderful!!!

The salon itself is nice and clean. Everyone that works there is professional and friendly. I have always gone to Vlada (in fact I followed her here from her previous salon because she is so great), so I dont know about anyone else from personal experience but I’ve never seen anyone dissatisfied. She is really the only person I will let touch my hair and now my sons hair also. I highly recommend her. Whether I need a cut, color or updo I always call on Vlada!

I went to go see suren a while back to try someone other than my usual. He didn’t fully understand what I wanted but tried his best and advised me to what he thinks would look best for me. I wasn’t thrilled about the color but after a few washes it turned into a color I was very pleased with. Idk if I recommend him personally I felt he took way too long in applying color.

My hairstylist his name is Hasan did beautiful job today with my hair nice highlight and hair cut I really enjoyed his work and nice atmosphere very sweet workers receptionist her name is Victoria I will go again and recommend to everyone !!!

I see Beth for a great haircut! Always professional and listens to what I want. Also gives good advice and I’m always happy with my haircut when I leave. I know some guys don’t like going into a full salon and spa for a haircut, but you really do get better quality cuts here and it isn’t that much more expensive then a barber shop. Free coffee and cookies help also!

I give Robert Daniels Salon and Spa four stars because of my stylist Beth and my colorist Ariel. These two women are for sure the most talented and professional on the staff. Beth makes you feel like you’re the only client that matters. An utter perfectionist, she cuts and shapes the hair beautifully. She is truly a sculptress. You will find that her haircuts grow out wonderfully. She is up to date on styles and products.
Ariel is the only person I trust with highlights. She is a true artist and she sees exactly how she is going to color every strand. Her work is truly magic.

I frequent the Brighton location, clearly this location is much much bigger and newer.
I was hoping that they would carry Aveda or have more stock in high end products, but not yet. A lot of the store is still under renovation so I’m giving then some time and I will write an update.
But I truly think that its weird that they are opened and don’t really seem fully ready. The receptionist was a little scattered when I wanted to schedule an appointment.
I’m sure this location will be a great sucess!
