This review is for their new waxing and spray tan services with Andrea.
I’ve been going to Andrea to get waxed for a number of years and have followed her around NYC wherever she has gone. She is the best! Not only is she efficient and precise with waxing, but she is always conscious of your time. I’ve never left a waxing appointment disappointed. If you need an affordable and quick waxing appointment — Andrea is your girl.
Although I have been going to Andrea for waxing services the past few years I am new to her spray tanning options. I’ve been spray tanned multiple times before and was always left frustrated that I couldn’t shower for 8 hours and that it faded after a couple days. I can genuinely and honestly say this is not the case with Andrea’s spray tans. 1 — You can shower within 2 hours of getting sprayed. The product she uses allows you shower within an extremely reasonable time frame (2ish hours depending on your skin tone and/​or how dark you want to go) without worrying that you’re going to get spray tan residue all over your bedsheets. 2 — It lasts for a good amount of time. I’ve gone to her twice in the last 6 weeks for beach vacations and each time felt that it lasted 4+ days which is different than other spray tans I’ve gotten before that faded fast and were only visible for 2 days. I’ve gotten consistent and frequent compliments from colleagues and fellow beachgoers about my tan. It looks natural, even, and lasts!
Other than a great wax and spray tan, what makes going to Andrea so great is that she makes you feel comfortable in a situation that other people can make awkward. Every time I go I feel as though I’m catching up with an old friend. She is beyond friendly and makes the time spent with her enjoyable. Most importantly, she values her clients. She always follows up to make sure you’re happy with the service and never takes it personally if you want to do something different or have a concern. If in the event you are unhappy, she makes herself available to change or fix something, though in the 3+ years I’ve been going to her I have never had this problem.

Ricardo is a GENIUS with creating color with depth and beauty. He is an incredibly talented visionary and hair artist extraordinaire. Now I am hosed because I am going to have to figure out how to regularly fly to NYC to get my hair highlighted !

Sumio Hashimoto and Marcus Garcia are the most dynamic and talented stylist/​colorist duo in the country! My good fortune (and yours) they are in NYC at Maggiore’s. I would never consider using anyone else, and if they left town, I would follow. These guys are that good.

I have to say that this was my best haircut yet, It’s beautiful and cozy. Also people that work here are Professionals and friendly! If you really care about you hear come to this place and you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Riccardo for the great work. My new favorite salon-:)

Gabriela is a true master at the art of eyebrow shaping. She is very talented and her unique skills have trained my sparse, shapeless brows to grow in full and beautiful. A brow shaping session with her is like getting an instant face lift.

The best salon! I come here to get my hair cut and colored. I’ve have Balayage more than once and it has looked fabulous each time. I love it!

Sumio Hashimoto is preternaturally talented. No one else can or should cut my hair. Ever. When I wait too long between visits and trim with my own scissors, which is always a really bad idea, Sumio is even able to save me from myself. He never does that thing that hair stylists do where they ask you what you want and then do what they want anyway. But, even if he did, that would be fine because I realized a few cuts in that what I want is whatever cut Sumio gives me.

I can’t praise the haircutter, stylist Sumio Hashimoto enough. I have been going to him off and on for over 20 years and he is probably one of the best hair cutters for short hair in NYC! I have crazy thick hair and my hair looks spectacular for at least 2 months after the cut, I get people stopping me on the street inquiring about it. Another great thing about Sumio is he is so down to earth, not common at all with such talent.

I absolutely love this salon. The receptionists are wonderful and efficient. They’re helpful and kind. The stylists are all fiercely talented, funny, and engaging. The salon is clean as can be, and their robes are great. But all this praise is nothing without Riccardo himself. I was lucky enough to have him as my stylist, and he is just phenomenal. He’s honest and straight-​forward. He is charming, precise, and very good with a brush. He was able to highlight my hair a beautiful blonde and transform it from the triple-​layered horizontal atrocity that was my hair from when it grew out from being bleach blonde and blue. He’s an absolute wonder. Definitely definitely definitely go here!

The salon has a very welcoming atmosphere when you arrive and everyone there is very nice and respectful, from the receptionists to hairdressers. Riccardo cut my hair and did a phenomenal job. I love my new hair cut. I would recommend everyone to go to the Riccardo Maggiore salon they are amazing.

Once again Riccardo came through with an amazing cut and color. I have lived in New York for more than 20 years and over the years I have periodically gone to see Riccardo and everytime I am amazed by his eye, his professionalism, and his attention to detail. I have strayed periodically to both high end (frederic fekkai, Marie Robinson, etc) and local «neighborhood finds», but I always end up back in the expert hands of Riccardo and am never sorry and always welcomed back.

Incapable stylist with rude attitude did a sloppy job. I Was looking for a blowout for a wavy and curly look. Got to the salon 5 mins b4 my appointment (6pm). Waited 40 mins for the stylist. He finished the blowout within 20 mins.(done by 7pm). It looks exactly like what I could do at the gym. After he finished, He asked me what do u think. I told him I was looking for big wavy look with more volume. He simply said to me «use curly iron? I don’t have that time !» Wow. Shocking! Anyway. Very upsetting experience. Totally waste of my time.

Ricardo does such an amazing job. He is truly a magician with hair. He is experienced, and although he is definitely on the higher end of price — his haircut and coloring is well worth it. He made me look like a natural blonde, and cut my hair in a way that it now takes me way less time to blowdry and style. I highly recommend him. He is just so good, and really cares about his work.

Riccardo is a true artist!
I’ve been getting my hair cut by him for the past 6 years. Even though I have long, fine hair, he never fails to deliver a beautiful cut full of volume. So, when I decided to chop-​off my hair for the first time in my life, there was no better person to trust than Riccardo. He did a beautiful job! It’s been a few months and the cut has exceeded my expectations — without any product or effort it looks great and moves beautifully! If you’re looking for a gorgeous cut, Riccardo is the best. Getting a haircut from him is an experience — its fun to watch him work and you can relax with an espresso knowing you’re destined to walk out glowing!

I never thought my first review to be written would be for a beauty salon. However, Ricardo the owner, has made me a believer. His place is well appointed and his manner and staff will make even the most ardent barber shop going male never look back.
He immediately made me feel comfortable and he politely educated me on some simple changes that could be made in order to look better. He is truly skilled if he can do that for me!!!
