They are on the 1^st floor, don’t have modern décor or fancy impression but service is the best you can look for.

Wow, what a hidden gem this place is! I guess I consider myself to be a bit of a massage snob. This was definitely one of the best massages I have ever received. Admittedly, I was a little hesitant about the environment. It’s on the 2^nd floor of an apartment building and shower curtains separate rooms instead of walls. In the end, it didn’t even matter and really just added to the unique experience.
I have history with a lot of back problems and see a holistic chiropractor regularly. This experience was absolutely perfect for what my body needed! It wasn’t as relaxing as some massages can be, but instead much more therapeutic. I was not asked much in terms of any issues I had but maybe my massage therapist was just that in tune with my body because she got all my problem areas. I loved the technique, a bit rough with pounding and the pressure (I wondering if she was standing once at times) and she really got in there! I wish I lived closer I would totally make this place a weekly ritual. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! And seriously, no where in the world you can get a massage like this for the price.

Overall, good massage from Sophia. This is a no-​frills kind of place, which I don’t mind; I don’t need a super fancy spa to get a positive massage experience. She was super strong and definitely worked out a lot of the knots in my shoulders and back.
The one thing I didn’t like about this place was the fact that the massage beds are separated by a curtain and that they aren’t in individual rooms. Although the noise from the other room or outside didn’t bother me too much, it still occasionally distracted a bit from the experience.
Also, I didn’t like that she used the towel so much in the beginning — the friction from the towel was uncomfortable, and it didn’t allow her freedom to move up and down my back without random stops and odd/​forced movements. Part of the towel (on the bottom) was slightly damp when I first covered myself with it. Yuck.
Overall, though, you can’t beat the price for the quality of service. Bring cash if you don’t want to pay tax.

Great massages. They really work out your knots and get in deep. I pop in usually after giving a phone call 20 – 30 minutes in advance. They’re very kind and accommodating. It’s truly meant for the massage experience and doesn’t feel so spa-​like. It suits my needs because I’m going for a serious massage as opposed to a zen spa day. They prefer cash payment (I believe it’s a little discount you get), but I tend to pay with credit card and give cash tip (though you could leave a credit tip). They have a punch card for frequent visitors. Worth a visit!

Awful experience: not a nice environment, certainly not a «spa», dark, dingy, therapist barely spoke any English. Would definitely not recommend it!

We found this place on Unilocal and booked a couple’s massage for an hour. The massage was just awesome and enough intense-​relaxing! We really recommend it!

Visiting from the West coast and this was just what I needed. Great massage at a great price. Don’t go looking for ambiance but do go if you want relief from sore muscles. They were also able to squeeze me and two colleagues in without much notice.

The price can’t be beat. I had a foot massage as well as a deep tissue massage. It was so relaxing and couldn’t have felt better after.

This hurt more than deep tissue massage or any sport massage I have experienced. The Chinese tuina definitely do wonder to all my tight knots and ache all over my body. I enjoyed the body massage alot & it fixed my problem avatar that, just have to endure the pain during the massage, it’s all worth it!
The foot massage is good too but too bad the seats are located right by the entry so it is noisy and disturbing with people coming and going, the phone ringing frequently and the alarms going off in different rooms as their massage time is up. So I cannot totally relax while I was getting the foot massage.
If you intend to do body and foot massage, tell them when you are making the reservation that you want the foot massage in the room as well right after your body massage so you won’t have to sit outside.
They get really busy on weekend, so call and make your reservation!

Excellent massage at stellar prices. Facilities were clean, everyone was very respectful and friendly, and massage was strong but not uncomfortably painful. Nice classical music and quiet environment. Very relaxing.
I paid $ 100 for two full body massages.

This place is legit, although I do not know how they keep their prices so incredibly low & I wonder. It isn’t a «high end spa» but gets the job done hence the lower prices. I like to do the 1 hour foot massage option, because as a new yorker and a registered nurse, I walk TONS. The foot massages keep me going :). After the appointments, I always feel amazing, and like I am literally walking on a cloud. Traditionally I never would have thought to get a foot massage, but it is now a part of my self care routine — TRY IT. The staff here is professional and respectful, & the atmosphere is clean & I recommend this place highly.

Legit! Where else can you get a 70 minute (including the free 10 minutes for the Unilocal check-​in offer) really good deep tissue massage for $ 39? The price point is insane. Even with a generous tip you’re looking at $ 50. Well worth it for what you get.
I have chronic back stiffness, particularly between my scapulae, and felt like a million bucks after my massage. Just don’t be discouraged by the shady looking entrance!

No need to repeat what all the other reviews have mentioned about the bare bones nature of this «spa». I personally didn’t mind the lack of sound proofing or luxe amenities. The only other massage I’ve ever had before coming here was at the SLS hotel in Los Angeles; needless to say this was a completely different experience but I think I actually felt more at ease at Renewing Spa!
My masseuse was very thorough, and she paid attention to the areas where I told her I had the most tension. My absolute favorite part of the massage was the hot stone portion. I was looking forward to it after reading about it in the reviews and kept waiting for it to happen, but unfortunately it came at the very end and only lasted for less than 5 minutes. The hot stones felt amazing so I really wish they would do this in the beginning to get your muscles warm and loosened up, and have it last longer than a mere few minutes.
I left feeling renewed (HA) and literally like I was walking on air. The tension in my neck and shoulders had been eased after just one session, but I would definitely come back for maintenance work and request a longer hot stone portion.

Amazing. Could not believe what I was getting for $ 39. Sofia was very warm, friendly, and skilled with her balance of pressure and gentle, soothing touches. I have incredibly tense shoulders and calves and massaging them with any significant amount of pressure usually hurts like hell, but she found a way to make it both enjoyable and effective.
For $ 39 you really do get a full body treatment — back, shoulders, limbs, some hot stone treatment on your back, a face massage, and a foot rub. Sofia was attentive and took the time to finish everything with care even as the timer was going off.
It’s a less frills-​y kind of place — none of the fancy décor that you see in hotel spas — but I don’t really see the value in all that to be honest — it’s not like you get to take the fancy décor home with you or anything. You simply can’t beat the value you get here.
The massage is still done in a private room and everything is clean and comfortable.
A 20% tip brings the total up to $ 47, and I was more than happy to round up to $ 50. Still absolutely worth it. You have to give this place a try.

As a tourist visiting the city, I quickly learned that even the best walking shoes won’t subdue the soreness of walking all day. I don’t even know how people living in the city do it but I’m guessing massages help.
My friends and I came here on a late saturday night almost close to their closing time. Despite our late arrival, the staff welcomed us and stayed past their shift to make sure my friends and I received the best service. They were super friendly and attentive and that made the experience that much better. One guy even missed the last train to Queens that night… so nice of him to stay :) I know how much of a hassle it is to miss the last train :(
I got a 20 minute foot massage and my friends did a combination of body and foot. The foot massage was painful but it was a good pain, the kind that leaves you feeling relaxed and better after the whole ordeal. You could tell them if you wanted the massage to be harder or softer. They do listen and make sure you’re getting the most out of it.
Great service and staff :) They do accept credit card, but if you pay cash you don’t have to pay tax. Finding this place might be hard since it’s not super obvious. You have to buzz in twice because there are two doors and it’s located upstairs. Definitely a great to way to spend the night to feel renewed for the next day!
