My favorite Thai spot on 42nd! It’s relatively cheap and the food is delicious! I know for parties over a certain size, they may ask you to order from a different menu, but for a few people. the main menu is on point. Drinks at the bar are fairly expensive. Either way, for the Thai lovers… this is the place to go! Try them out, you will not be disappointed. After your belly is stuffed, the check is just as good. Very reasonable!

Delivery was a MESS. WE called twice and they still missed parts of the orders and included allergy items in some meals — from which they were asked to exclude. Despicable Will be complaining to the manager and they will not be getting my business again.

This hungry lady had no idea where to eat. Especially, around the Times Square area. And I knew I did NOT want to eat directly in the heart of Times Sqaure. I needed an area where it was less busy, less hectic, LESSPEOPLE. Thankfully, my two NYers friends came to my rescue. Going back and forth between wanting Italian cuisine or American cuisine, we ended up doing Thai instead. Because that’s how an indecisive person like myself roll. *shrugs* My order: a glass of white wine, Chicken and Shrimp Dumpling, Qi Pad Thai(without the fresh mango). All of my choices ended up being tasty and satisfying choices.

Second place in the city to have the best Pad Thai. Went there for the first time with a few friends for a farewell dinner and the pad Thai was excellent. Juicy, fresh, flavorful and enough. I’m giving them 4 stars because the service in general was ok. However, the last waiter who took care of us, was like in a bad mood, asked for a table from us for the people next to us, and they were tons of tables in the back of the restaurant. He also rushed the bill and suggested that more people are coming and since we aren’t drinking we should move to another table. The food was good, prices are very cheap, the music was soft and not loud. Clean and chic atmosphere. But that specific waiter that I wished I had his name sucks. I’ll definitely go back and ask for another waiter if he is the one taking care of my table.

3.5***. Décor was nice and beautiful. Came here to celebrate friends birthday and it was a nice place to do it, however, seating was very tight. I ordered the spicy basil plate and boy was it spicy. Too spicy unfortunately. I could hardly taste the real flavors because it was so spicy. It’s alright. There are definitely better places around the area.

Waited over 20 minutes and couldn’t get service. Asked for server to at least acknowledge us but she could careless to stop by. Unacceptable! There were two waiters just chatting with each other. This place has received decent reviews for quality tasting food. But if you want good service, you came to the wrong place. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Another Thai place that saw both the traditional and modern cuisine combination. While we came in on Tue night, it was not at all crowded, and it was pretty spacious anyway. Shared an app and two entrees, with the entrees of huge portion. Chicken pad Thai was of good quality, and not too salty(unlike majority other Thai places). Interior decoration probably is their best selling point — it’s like stepping into a small crystal palace with chandeliers hanging on the ceiling. Girls would love it!

We were looking for a pre-theatre Thai spot, and Qi worked out great. I have loved Thai food since I was a preschooler, and while I have nothing against the American Thai restaurant classics like Pad Thai and Panang curry, it’s really easy to get bored of joints that only offer such popular, classic dishes and nothing else. We picked Qi because it had a menu with a mix of Thai restaurant staples and more unique and authentic dishes all available at the same time and place. I had the Chiang Mai noodle soup, a yellow curry broth packed with chicken, flat rice noodles, pickled cabbage, onion, and cilantro and topped with crunchy fried noodles. My dinner companion got the chicken pumpkin curry, which she said was great as well. My soup bowl was giant and full to the brim. No sign of the common Thai restaurant problem where you get tons of curry sauce with a measly handful of vegetables and a few slices of your chosen meat thrown in. The ambiance was classy and a little clubby, and the waitstaff was competent and attentive. The convenience factor and interesting menu make Qi an option for a return visit when I’m craving Thai in the theater district.

Qi is my favorite place for lunch in the hood. The fried shrimp dumplings with tomato sauce and Kee Mao noodle are delicious! Today, I have an important meeting at 1pm, I walked out of my office which is half block away around 12:15pm. I ordered right away and then started doing my own things at the bar table. I renewed my points for the meeting, I caught up the news of today, I got so starved and impatient… At 12:45pm nothing showed up on my table and I found it hopeless to be able to eat gracefully and walk calmly to the meeting. So I left a note on the napkin and left the place with an empty stomach. Very very very disappointed.

This review is for lunch takeout. I got the lunch special shirmp Pad Seeyu stir friend noodles and its was delicious. All of their lunches come with a free app and I chose the mushroom spring roll. I really couldn’t taste the mushrooms and i wasn’t a fan that the sauce was inside the takeout box. Nothing leaked though. My fiancé had the spicy fried rice and it was DELICIOUS. Will definitely come back for the pas see yu noodles AND the spicy fried rice. minus 1 star for the small portions. Not sure about their dinner portions but the lunch was only good for 1 meal :( I usually have leftovers from my usual thai spots in UES.

So my plans were to check out Urbo & was surprised to see they are no longer in business. Decided to try this place, a few blocks away which I’ve passed by many times before & was always captivated by the décor inside. Upon entering we were greeted quickly yet the staff seemed a bit slow, nevertheless we were provided with the menu, ordered a pitcher of litchi sangria(was very yummy) & then ordered from their Thai restaurant week menu consisting of a 3-course meal, for a great deal. The food was diverse, tasty & the flavors/spices were well balanced. I was glad to give them a try & get a closer look at the beautiful décor inside.

I was pretty happy with my Seamless delivery from Qi. I thoroughly enjoyed my Gai-Yang & Som Tum, a Thai combination of super tender, grilled marinated lemongrass chicken breasts, green papaya salad and sticky rice, with sweet chili sauce on the side. I couldn’t get enough! The green papaya salad was perfectly tart and refreshing, and sticky rice just the right level of stickiness, and the chicken flavorful and delicious. I also enjoyed the corn taro dumplings, though I did detect some MSG thrown in there. Nonetheless, an interesting dumpling combination. All in all, I love that Qi doesn’t just have the usual Americanized Thai menu.

I came in at about 340pm on a Monday and the restaurant was quiet with a few customers, a blessing in the Times Sq/port authority area. I got a table for one in a corner(introvert’s dream, thank you!) and ordered a chicken red curry(10.90) and a Thai iced tea(3). The tea came quickly in a tall glass with maybe a bit too much ice, but it was good. The curry also came in a good amount of time and tasted like your standard red curry. Not spicy to my tastes but I have a pretty high tolerance. My only complain would be that the like of jasmine rice that comes with the curry is a bit small for the size of the dish. The price point was good for the neighborhood. The all white décor is very cute during the day, but I imagine at night it’s very dim and noisey inside. Staff could’ve been a bit more attentive with the water refill but overall they were very nice. They didn’t rush me out after I finished which I very much appreciated as I had a few more minutes to kill before heading to work in the area. Definitely worth stopping in for the lunch special(8.90) if you’re in the area and want to eat food that isn’t junk and escape from the tourist throngs of midtown. Next time I’m dragged to this neighborhood I’ll come back to try the curry puffs(6.60).

Qi is an awesome lunch spot in midtown. I went here recently for a work lunch and was blown away by the quality, prices, and décor. For approx. $ 10, they offer a delicious lunch special that includes appetizer and entreé. I personally had the red curry chicken and dumplings, and rice was served on the side. The food is not particularly fancy, but the value is unbelievable. I’ll skip the overpriced meals at Pret a Manger and come here instead! The décor is very nice and gives it a very contemporary flair. It is almost tacky, but it lends a certain sense of «chic» to this establishment. If you’re looking for a sit down restaurant for a work lunch, I would highly recommend Qi.

My feelings are torn about Qi. The interior looks sleek at first glance with the all white highlighted with chandelier décor. However, once you settle in, I realized that the space is a bit dirty. It looked like they turned over so many patrons throughout the day that they didn’t have time to mop the floor. You can also see this in the restroom. The lighting in the space is rather dim, so that sort of masks the dirtiness. PS. The faucet in the women’s bathroom run SUPER hot water at first. No matter how you turn the faucet, you have to let the hot water run its course before warm/cool water comes through. Do NOT stick your hand in immediately even if someone else already used the faucet, turned the water off, and you’re washing your hands right behind them. I hope Qi fixes this soon. You’ve been warned! Anyway, on to the food. We decided to order 5 appetizers to share. Sesame Tofu — I compare this as tasteless mozzarella sticks. The tofu had no soy flavor or any flavor whatsoever. I really didn’t get this dish at all. Burmese Tea Leaves Salad — The description made this salad very interesting. It was sprinkled with tea leaves. IUnfortunately, I’m not a big fan of spicy, so I only had a few bites just to try it. My dining partner was okay with it but wasn’t crazy about it. Charcoal Grilled Tiger Prawns — The order came with 3 prawns, which I think should have been at least 4 since the dish is $ 9 and they weren’t super big prawns either. The prawns were grilled perfectly. I didn’t even use the dipping sauce that came with the prawns because the prawns itself really taste good on their own Yellow Curry Soft Shell Crab — I love soft shell crab, so I jumped on this dish as soon as I saw it. The crab came smothered in a thick yellow curry. The curry is on the salty side and would go great with some rice. Other than being salty, I really can’t think of a bad thing about this dish. Oh wait, I got something, it could come with another crab. Five Spice Stewed Beef Soup — Being a soup, this one was straight up salt-fest. I just could not have this soup alone as is. The tendons and meat were cooked until it’s fall a part tender. Again, order a side of rice and you’re good to go. Qi has some promising food, but I hope they would have a better upkeep of their spaces.

Such a cool spot! It’s located in midtown right by port authority so if you taking a bus into the city, it’s only a brief 5 min walk away. Atmosphere is really trendy and considering prime location, prices are very reasonable. An appetizer is about $ 4-$ 9 and entrée is $ 12 – 24. They also serve alcohol. Staff is not very friendly but the service is quick. They have a good amount of space. We did not have reservations and got seated within 2 minutes at 7 pm on a Friday night. They also take reservations.

Not far from Times Square, this location is actually nicely sized. The interior is beautifully decorated with a neutral color scheme, large old world candles contained in glass and dim lighting to set the mood. The food was good, consistent with Thai in NYC. I ordered spicy Thai fried rice with chicken– my go to entrée. I enjoyed it. I ordered a drink called«Makarm», which is a blend of Makers Mark whiskey, tamarind and lime($ 13). It was really good. The female bartender making it was a little pretentious but as she was the only one working behind the bar at the time I let it go. Overall pretty good spot. Better than«Sea» that’s for sure.

Qi gets 3 stars at most from me. It wasn’t my choice, but it was a sponsored meal by a manager, so I obliged. Qi is located extremely close to Times Square — usually for me, anything in the vicinity of the super-packed, super-touristy Times Square area is a place I avoid. QI is a very nicely decorated Thai restaurant… which actually makes me feel a little weird because I want an authentic experience — I seem to feel more comfortable in a more cozy/homey type of spot, like Pure Thai. Actually having visited Bangkok before, I really enjoyed that experience and this«fancy» feeling atmosphere just didn’t do it for me. BUT, it IS really pretty! Service was bleh. We were in agreement all around. It took them halfway through our meal to bring my colleague hot sauce. They brought me ice cream with no spoon and it took me forever to flag someone down to bring me a spoon. Overall very, very slow service with lack of urgency and they’re definitely the type of staff who are just there to do their job and nothing more. I got the beef noodle soup combo for lunch. It came with Thai buffalo wings, which were probably the best part of the meal — hot, crispy, and very flavorful. I would actually eat this again. The five spice beef noodle soup had a ton of meat in it, which was a surprise. The broth was a little too sweet for my liking and they left massive pieces of star anise that I ended up biting into(yuck!). I realized that this probably would have tasted better with the traditional spicy powder, but I don’t think they bring that out unless you ask here… if they even have it. The green tea ice cream that came with the set was actually quite disgusting and tasted like nothing. While the lunch specials here are reasonable and there isn’t usually a wait since the space is so big, I would take the short few block walk and head over to 9th Avenue/Hell’s Kitchen for much, much better Thai food.

I really struggled with how many stars to give this place. Ultimately, I decided on two because the food was mediocre and the service, unacceptable. It was a Monday night, so the place was pretty empty and we were seated right away. The food came out quickly, but as soon as we were served, we became invisible. No, it was more like we were neglected. Every time our waiter walked within eye contact distance, he’d look the other way and we couldn’t grab his attention without shouting across the restaurant. I was finally able to flag someone down, not our waiter, but anyone would do at this point. I asked for more water, boxes, and the check all at once because it might’ve taken another 30 years to get someone else to come over. Outrageously, they included an 18% gratuity charge for our party of 6. I know that is quite normal for restaurants, but they DIDNOTDESERVE18%! I wonder if they purposely neglected us because they knew they’d be getting 18 anyway and decided not to bother. The only redeeming qualities were the décor and that the check was conveniently split for each person. The décor was really interesting and different. Though, some of it was TOO different. The holographic lady in the bathroom mirror, for example, creeped me out to no end. As for the food, my pad Thai was ok and sesame crusted tofu, not recommended. The sesame was too thick and the crust fell off the tofu easily.

Food: 3 Price: 4 Service: 3.5 Ambience: 5 Very beautiful place but you can’t eat beauty. The set up is reminiscent of a speed dating center — four people or whatever party number facing each other at a long table, which I liked. It was different. The table reminded me of a decorated armoire and the chairs were beautifully shaped plexiglass. Might I add the bathroom is also beautiful. On to food, I ordered the Pad See Euw and a Thai iced tea. The iced tea was okay and the dish was cold when they brought it. I assume having a large crowd explains the 25 minute wait that ensued when I asked them rewarm the dish. By the time it got back to me, the dish was already cold again; I just took it like that to avoid another half-hour wait. While I was waiting, I ate from my friends plates and all of their dishes were good. Because my food was cold, I don’t even know if my judgement counts but if it does, then the meal was simply okay. I was not wowed, especially because of the raving reviews I heard earlier. I was not won over but the food wasn’t bad. Hence, the rating of 3 out 5 but the prices were very reasonable, as I usually find with Thai food. I like the way they break down the receipt by seat so you don’t have to bring out the calculators or do any unnecessary calculations. It’s all done for you. Note: Some of the waiters should practice their customer service. Generally, the service was fine but there were a few people who could just not be bothered. To be honest, I think my experience was an anamoly and if the crowd were smaller and two of the waiters did not exist, then my visit would’ve been a 5 out 5. Maybe next time.

Very popular! Gorgeous interior with candles and great lighting. So it’s great for groups and intimate one-on-ones. There is also a bar scene if you do not want a full meal. Warning: There was a wait about 30 minutes. They do not take reservation, so it’s first come, first serve. The place was packed, and we went at 5:40 pm on a Saturday. It was nice and warm. The waitress was kind and helpful. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, which was a decent portion in a beautiful presentation. It looked like a flower. My friends ordered Thai Iced Tea, lycheetinis, and the prices of drinks were totally reasonable. One of my friends had a super spicy dish with the work sukiyaki in it with seafood and glass noodles which was tasty! I would totally go back. Maybe not on a Saturday – like on a weekend lunch. This was heaven. I also got the duck salad. It was good but next time I would order the panang curry. Two of my friends ordered it and it was so delicious! I haven’t been here in a year. I returned because on all of my previous dining experiences were excellent. Not any more… The formerly excellent beef short ribs have morphed into pork rib tips(the menu says short ribs), the place setting now consists of 1 fork and a thin paper napkin. The server gave me 1 additional when I asked for more napkins. There were no sauces served with my order and my cocktail tasted as though they forgot to add cucumber to the lime/ginger mix. All in all a very disappointing experience which felt as though they are catering to the tourist crowds of Times Square. I’m removing Qi Bangkok from my list of «go to» restaurants.

I really like this restaurant. For one, it’s located at a very prime location right by Times Square. And while other restaurants in the areas are trying to spike their prices because it’s a tourist location, Qi has maintained its menu at very reasonable price. The décor of this restaurant is beautiful! A great place for a date, family dinner, girls night, friends hangout, anything. The atmosphere feels romantic and classy. The only thing that I would say is that it was pretty loud at the restaurant just because of the size and the music. The food is delicious! They have excellent vegetarian options since they offer tofu and imitation duck(along with meat options ofcourse) with almost every entrée and is very tasty. The lunch special is excellent because they provide an entrée and an appetizer at the lunch special price. I would highly recommend.

This place is simply impeccable. My girlfriend said it was the best tom yum lemongrass soup ever and that it is probably the best Thai place she’s ever been to. They managed to piqué our interest with a sign out front advertising $ 6 lychee Martini & a margarita. Unfortunately that deal is only available at the bar, so we had to quickly order and pay. We were able to carry our drink to our table for dinner, so I guess its not too big of a deal. As far as the menu goes, I think its pretty standard asian fusion/thai food. Thai food meets ball room. This place is a mixture of frills and chandeliers. The one I went to has the all white interior. There are mirrors everywhere and embellished walls. In the front by the bar, there are chandeliers in fish tank-like containers(mirrors on inside but allows the viewer to see inside). The food is really something. I had the honey ribs and let me tell you these little guys were so tender and the right amount of sweet. They literally fell off the bone and I was even sucking on the bones straight up. I also got the beef broth soup, which was flavorful but the beef was a little too tough for my liking. Although the food is good, the service was not. When I got there, it took 30 minutes for me to get a waiter to come and take my order. When I was finished and payed the check I was talking with my friend briefly before our waitress came to kick us out with a sassy«I have other customers. Can you leave» which was followed by a sarcastic«thanks for the 50 cents», meanwhile I gave her a not so well earned $ 4 tip. Good food but not going again.

Qi is a restaurant close to Times Square that looks very promising because of its chic marble décor, extravagant chandeliers, and ambient house music playing in the background, however it did not deliver. The service. I don’t think any of the waiters knew what they were doing. I asked them about our orders and acted surprised like it was our first time speaking. Our drinks that we ordered didn’t come until half our dishes were finished and when I first asked for him to check on our order, they asked me to repeat what I ordered because he didn’t remember. Then when asking about the bill, they were confused and frazzled. I mean they were nice, I just don’t think they did their job very well. The food. Not Thai food. I got the Bangkok fried rice and it was very moist and soggy, weird to describe it like that but that’s the best way I can explain it. My friend got chicken satay and. Salad and while it was mediocre, she ended up going home with a stomachache. The only redeeming quality of this place is its marble looking walls that I was admiring.

Was looking for a dinner spot not too far from all the Christmas sights last weekend. This place popped up. I’ve passed by hundreds of times and thought it was nice and probably expensive. But checked them out on Unilocal and saw that it wasn’t. So I made reservations in the afternoon and it was no problem. Got there a few minutes early and waited about 10 minutes. It was Saturday nite and the place was packed so it was cool. They had lots of interesting cocktails. The menu had some different choices u don’t typically see at Thai restaurants. We wanted something different from our normal go-to Thai dishes. We ordered the tamarind buffalo wings from the small plates menu, she got the pad khee mao with chicken and I got the spicy holy basil with salmon. The wings came whole with 3 pcs. They were pretty good. I think they should’ve cut it up to make it easier to eat. I didn’t try my friend’s dish, but mine was very good. For drinks I got the lycheetini and friend got the ginger mango margarita. Both were good. We skipped dessert cuz choices were few and it was $ 9. Def a place to go if u’re looking for something in the area.

I got the pad see euw lunch special with thai iced tea, tom yum soup and triple mushroom spring rolls, my friend got their soup with pad thai and chive corn dumplings. I’d recommend the spring rolls over my friend’s corn dumplings. I think my pad see euw was also better than the pad thai(my friend said it was a too bit dry, she had to ask for more lemon). Soup was good except the chicken in it was super dry. Thai iced tea was a bit sweet but after I added some water and it was fine. Overall this is still a good deal for lunch in the area.

Location, great service, and good food has made Qi my go-to spot in the Theater District area. Anyone can tell you that the hub of Thai food in Manhattan is Ninth Avenue, so what gives, Qi? Qi stands out among the Times Square tourist traps of 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue, like an oasis in the desert. The restaurant décor facing the outside is nondescript, so it is very easy to walk by this place without a second glance. However, the décor inside is a palliative change of pace from the eyesores of the flashing lights outside. To the food! The menu is fairly extensive, covering your traditional pad thai and pad see ew as well as some specialties that are unique to the restaurant. Since I work nearby, I am a big fan of the lunch special that offers an appetizer and entrée for around $ 13 with tax and tip, a steal in this part of town. On top of that, the service is always on point. Seating is plentiful and you will be seated immediately. Servers are always in motion, shuttling around tables and the kitchen and with smiles on their faces. Qi does not disappoint.

**This review is for a pick up order** I had called almost 30 minutes before going into the restaurant for my order. The person who took my order said the wait time at most would be 10 — 15 minutes. Yet, when I arrived — I still had to wait an additional 15 minutes for my order to come out. They have a generous lunch special option starting at $ 9 for appetizer and lunch sized entrée. I ordered two orders of fried chicken and shrimp dumpling. The four dumplings per serving were delicious but I received two orders of steamed dumplings instead of fried. I also ordered the chicken Bangkok fried rice and chicken spicy fried rice. Both were yummy and on par with other Thai restaurants.
