Prohibition is trendy, while also feeling familiar and warm. The best frozen margarita I’ve ever had, although the service was a little slow. The live music more than made up for it.

We only drinks and wings but they were great. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. My husband had the pbj old fashion and a knob creek old fashion and they were great. I had two drinks and the millers crossing was the best!!! We ordered the wings and they were standard bar wings.

Stopped in Prohibition after a walk through Central Park… It was about 8:45 and the band was setting up(Prohibition offers live music 7 nights a week!). Not too crowded at that point but filled up once the music started playing. Sat at the bar and got a Frozen Margarita. It was exactly what I wanted and for $ 10, it was totally worth it. Didn’t get food but the guy next to me got a quesadilla and it smelled amazing. The vibe and ambience in this place is awesome. Chill yet vibrant. Definitely recommend!

I never really write reviews but this place warrants it. Honestly, I am giving it two stars because at least our main waitress was okay. Pros: The Frozen Lime Margarita is great. The food was alright(nothing to rave about). Cons: The majority of the staff was awful. I get that there are days when you might not be at work but you never take it out on the customers. Staff continuously came over to remove items from the table when we were not done with them, we felt rushed though we continuously order food and drinks, though I said thank you numerous times the staff never acknowledged I was speaking to them. I did not feel welcomed in the least. At one point one of the members of our party was asked to stand for the rest of our duration there because it was ‘that time’, whatever that means. The staff was –in one word– RUDE. The bathrooms were disgusting and one of the sinks(of two) was out of order. I will not be coming back because for those rates I can get better service at another bar.

We came here for a beer and got amazed by this incredible band that was playing amazing covers. We stayed a while, had pretty good drinks. It can get crowdy and it’s noisy. We loved it here!

The live music, the customer service, and the drinks are fantastic! The food is delicious too but it’s just a little pricey. I’ve been there twice and both times the waitresses were kind and conversational. Also, the manager is friendly and generous. He sat at our table and offered us free drinks when my boyfriend and I tried to leave, encouraging us to stay for the last part of singer-songwriter night. The musicians he picked for singer-songwriter night were all quite talented and he said that all of them performed during open mic night, so I’m guessing open mic night has great singers too. It was definitely worthwhile to stay for that last round of drinks — the singers played a cover of «Kiss» by Prince and some people got up to dance(myself included). The mojitos are wonderful! I recommend the passion fruit one.

Walked into this bar one evening for a quick drink. The ambience is intimate and drinks exceptional. I got an old fashioned and my hubbie got a beer. They lit a candle on our table when it got a lik dark. Live music on guitar– wow! The staff is courteous. Overall a great place. If u are looking for an intimate bar– this is it!

Had a great time. I think our waiters name was Lara. She went above and beyond to make our night amazing. Anyways, we had a great time, the quesadilla and steak nachos were bomb. Our waiter, Lara was the best. Thank you for an amazing night!!!

Extremely fun place — one of the best in UWS. Fantastic live music and great atmosphere. It’s a great place to just grab a beer and enjoy the music, or if you are looking for something a bit more high-end, they have some great liquor in the back room. Crowded Friday and Saturday nights, though still a lot of fun.

My favorite cocktail there is gin, st. germain, basil, and pomegranate — I forgot what it’s called but it’s delicious. The place gets pretty packed as the night goes on, especially when the live band starts playing, but it’s fun! The back room is great for parties and events, too.

Love the atmosphere of this place. It’s dimmed, relaxing, and laid back. There is always a live band, which is intruding and special. I do love their little sliders, worth every penny. I’ve recommended this place to all my friends.

Tried it for dinner and drinks on the coldest day in NY. We were seated quickly considering we didn’t have reservations. We had guacamole and chips, wild mushroom ravioli and steak and chips. Best mushroom ravioli ever! Steak was a bit chewy according to my BF. And because it was 5 degrees and windy out, we had loads of delicious hot toddies! Our service was fantastic! There was a live band setting up but didn’t stay long enough to catch them. Next time!

Good enough place… we had snacks and drinks while watching a live show. The service was fine given the crowd. The guacamole was spicy(so delightful for us), maybe too much so for some people. The band was really good also. The only problem seemed to be how the sound system was set up – we had a lot of trouble hearing the vocals.

One of NYC’s best live music venues!!! 7 nights a week you will find great people, great service & great food! They have been doing it for nearly 20 years! A real neighborhood bar with fun cover bands. Outdoor seating when the weather is good. The food will really surprise you — try the individually prepared nachos or the biggest/yummiest pretzel you have ever had. The manager Jason will take great care of you & keeps a customer oriented vibe. A shout out to our favorite waitress Amanda who always makes us feel like family.

Pro: live band, great vibes, solid drinks Con: simply too loud and bad layout. If sitting in the back room, you’ll have to watch the tv for a live feed of the band.

After a day wandering around central park and the museum(and maybe a stop off for some coktails), my friends and I were famished. We weren’t even interested in drinking, just some good food. We had planned to eat at Jacob’s Pickles, but forgot to do a rez and the wait for six of us was over an hour. After getting shut down for two more spots, we headed over to Prohibition where our wait time was zero. Ordered some drinks, cocktails were really good. I’ll come back to our appetizer experience… our entrees were delicious. Although, they use the term«slider» very liberally — but that’s a good thing The sliders were on the larger size. I believe one of my friends said shake shack’s normal burgers were about the same size. But to the appetizers. We order the chips and guac, the tiny tacos(steak) and… the pretzel. I had planned on ordering one for myself and getting a salad, but good thing I didn’t. First of the the pretzel is HUGE. Second, it is delicious, prefect outside and inside chewy goodness. But the best part, the dipping sauces. You have your regular honey mustard. Your cheddar cheese. And than you have your horseradish mustard. Holy octoberfest! It is amazing. We actually asked the waitress(and manger) if they could hook us up with some. Sadly, while house made, they didn’t have enough to give us a jar to go. They need to bottle it up and start selling it, because it’s definitely a winner. Our server was super nice and friendly. Clearly knew her stuff and very on top of it. While we didn’t have a chance to catch some of the live music here, there was a stage, and I would like to check it out at some point.

I’ve been here twice and both experiences have been absolutely wonderful! I happened to go on a Monday night both times, meaning that I’ve had the honor of witnessing two very entertaining Open Mic Nights. Though I haven’t had the opportunity to hear the actual established bands that play here, New York happens to be rife with aspiring singers/songwriters/karaōke enthusiasts, so the night did not lack good tunes. And while the singers vary, there’s always a house band there anyway, which is quite good(I’m no expert in these music logistics, so don’t take my word for that last part about the band — it’s just been my experience). One con: It is LOOOOUUUDDD(yes, the dreaded internet hyperbole). If you sit in the main area by the band, it’s virtually impossible to even hear yourself think. That said, there’s a fairly spacious back room that’s significantly quieter. There is a bar back there, but to my knowledge it’s rarely open. Thankfully there’s table service, and quite good service at that. The first time I sat in the back room here, the staff rarely came back to check on us, but this time we had a very attentive waitress. So A+ on the service. Drinks I can speak to: –The Bootlegger: Bulleit bourbon, jalapeño infused maple syrup, cherry liqueur, fresh lemon juice, bitters –Ginger Whiskey Smash: Bulleit bourbon, canton ginger liqueur, muddled lemon & sugar, rocks –Miller’s Crossing: Miller’s gin, fresh muddled basil, st germain, pama pomegranate liqueur, fresh lemon juice I’d say my favorite of these was the Ginger Whiskey Smash. I’m always intrigued by the Bootlegger given my affinity for spicy cocktails, but I think I’ve come to the conclusion that jalapeño-infused anything is best paired with gin and tequila. Doesn’t work for me with whiskey. Jalapeño-infused maple syrup, though, gotta get that next time I make pancakes. If you like gin, go for Miller’s Crossing. Very delicious and refreshing, as gin drinks should be. And while these cocktails are creative and unique, I don’t think they’re worth $ 14. That’s pretty steep. Overall, solid 4 stars. I never understand why people(at least the people I know) don’t care much for this bar. Their loss — more music and drinks for me!
