Shady. When a jeweler tells you they don’t provide GIA certificates but some other certificate that has novel, run. ALL quality diamonds bought by resellers and retailers with one so don’t let shady jewelry sellers tell you it’s not worth the extra cost (there isn’t one) and that they will walk you down the street to an appraiser, don’t trust. them. GIA only if you don’t want to get ripped off.
if you see all these 5 star reviews in Unilocal by one or two timers on this site, be very suspicious. Not all diamonds are the same get the certificate and make sure they are real and not «enhanced» or filled with silicone. Most of these jewelers lie about what they are selling and the only real guarantee you have is the GIA, not CIA or GEA or whatever acronyms they throw at you. Insist on GIA only.

I am very impressed with Pristine Jewelers. They delivered a great product on time. I was recently in NY for a few days. I stumbled upon Pristine and recognized the name from some mutual acquaintances– friends. I was very impressed by Avi and Ofir, they were very helpful and nice. Not pushy or arrogant as many other jewelry places are on 47th street. While i was not intending on buying anything on this trip, I wound up ordering a custom piece of jewelry. I was promised i would have it in a week and it was just delivered. I highly recommend Pristine!
