I’ve been coming to this optical ever since I moved to New York. It was the closest and most conveniently located place for me to get my contact lenses and so I decided to give it a try and I’ve been going back ever since. Adam, the owner, is super nice and he always gives me extra bottles of solution with my boxes of contact lenses(I love those, they’re so convenient to carry around in my purse). They’re an extremely reliable place to get anything from your eyes checked to filling a contact lens prescription or even getting eyeglasses and I really don’t understand why they’ve been poorly rated. I’ve been a consistent customer of theirs for two years now and I think they’re great, very efficient service. I’d highly recommend them.

Having not had my eyes checked for over 3 years and not aware of any new technology or protocol that has emerged in that time, I entered Pride trepidatiously. All prior optometrist and opthamologist experiences have been long, disappointing, uncomfortable, and expensive. However, I should have not had a single worry as the staff here clearly take great PRIDE in their work! I have never in my 27 years of life experienced such fantastic customer service. Adam, from the moment I stepped in, was friendly without being pushy or creepy, and has called my insurance company now multiple times to first understand how my coverage plan worked(I just got a new policy and did not have the slightest clue), then finagle my options, then maximize my choices and extend the coverage as much as he was able so I would not have to go out of pocket. All without my asking or intimating. Amazing! The Dr was very quick to look over my eyes which made me doubtful, but then this is an optometrist and not an opthamologist. I was fitted, prescribed, and given trial lenses in under 25 minutes. Glorious!

One of the lenses of my new pair of rimless glasses arrived loose and flopping around on the frame, and in general I was not satisfied with the glasses. Also, another optician expressed doubts about the glasses’ quality of manufacture. The salesperson did not put me at ease as I was making my decision. I would recommend LensCrafters on 390 West Broadway instead. In general, I would recommend getting your glasses at the same place you get your eye exam — since you pay them for an eye exam every year, they have no incentive to give you a shoddy pair of glasses.

Wow, I have to tell you that I hate wearing glasses but thanks to the staff and the incredible patience and communication they had with me. I love my eyewear and it is been a new me since I have finally given my eyes a rest from contacts. I love my glasses and it totally suits me. A little secret folks, they do what they can to work with you on the price and make it affordable. I love this place and I encourage everyone to give it a try before you buy anywhere else. I WENTTO10PLACESGUYS. I finally found a place for my glasses ;-) Highly Recommend

Great eyeglass shop. Very nice and patient people and a pleasure to deal with. I have a terribly hard time picking out glasses and Patty is amazingly patient and has helped me in picking out awesome frames that fit my face. Highly recommended!!!

This has been the worst experience I have ever had buying anything. I am so frustrated with my experience at Pride Optical that I don’t even want to spend the time reviewing it but feel I have to. First I choose my frames. I am told the only pair they have in stock are a sample pair that look bent. I ask if I can have a new pair. They offer to order one for me. I am told it will take a few days to receive the new frame. A week goes by and I haven’t heard from them. I call and they tell me the frames are on back order. I believe it’s common courtesy to call the customer if they won’t get their purchase when it was promised. They tell me that they don’t know when the frames will be available. Meanwhile I am left without the glasses I need. The worse part of this whole experience has been the people who have been very unpleasant in both the way they have addressed me and in their tone. I am an understanding person and these things happen. All I would have needed was a pleasant person explaining the situation rather than the sales person who was just short of yelling at me. «It is your fault you don’t have your glasses yet» he said. I am in disbelief. I warn you to spare yourself of dealing with the worse service I have ever experienced and avoid Pride Optical.
