Called Abacky now… not sure why they changed the name, though Potluck does seem to be more Chinese food oriented and this place is all sushi. Looks bummy from the outside, but once you walk in it’s quite a classy place. Have been coming here over the last few years, one of the better sushi places around 34th. Decent prices, some great Chelsea clubs are 3 avenues away, and their kani salad is phenomenal. Definitely give this place a try.

Lunch delivery came quickly, but their Thai food lacks flavor. The wontons were light but also lacking in taste. And I found a little piece of plastic in my rice.

We celebrated Chinese New Year at work and I ordered food from here today. It arrived quickly, in about 20 min — we are only a block away. I’ve ordered from them previously for work events, as they have a good selection of large platters, too. People always ask for the name of the restaurant, and their food is definitely a crowd pleaser. Can’t say i’ve ever been disappointed. Try the dried shredded beef, it’s delicious.

I really enjoyed my visit here. They changed their name to Abacky, so keep that in mind if you actually go but regardless it’s still the same place. I went in during lunch time and it was empty which was great because the service was great and quick. The décor is very nice and they even have a second floor with more seating. I ordered the Salmon Teriyaki bento box(salmon, shrimp dumplings, California roll, and your choice of rice) the portion was perfect and the food was very good. I even used my chopsticks the entire time instead of just going straight for my fork. Also decided to try out the Tempura Green Tea Ice Cream and oh my goodness I am a believer in all things Tempura. Overall, I would definitely gives this place a try! Staff so was nice, food was nice, and prices were very reasonable!

Really bland sugary pad thai & small portion very disappointing. Won’t be going back.

Really good sushi. Clean and good service. Nice to visit if you are with friends who want something other than sushi as well. Reasonably priced.

I ordered food for delivery last night and I wish I would have read some of these Unilocal reviews first. I also felt everything was quite greasy. I felt a little ripped off only getting 2 spring rolls for $ 5 — they were filled with a weird paste which was not vegetables, dipping sauce was good though. Would not order those again. My pad thai was fine, nothing special and not much chicken. My thai ice tea was good. Meh.

Delivery was on time and the food was hot. I ordered chicken with garlic sauce but it was so greasy! There was even an oil slick under the rice.

Good food. Good service. The general tso is good. All white meat. They changed their name to Abacky.

Worse dine-in service I have ever encountered in any restaurant ever. The woman who took our order was rude and never came back to check on us during the meal. The food was subpar. I wound up not eating it. I will never be back. This place is so not worth it folks.

That awkward moment when the delivery guy calls and says«come inside» while he waits outside… and yells at you for actually being inside. Obviously didn’t read the special instructions of «Ring doorbell» either. More importantly, my shrimp and garlic sauce had about 3 pieces of shrimp.

The food is an ok option in a «slim pickens» neighborhood, but they lost their liquor license a couple months ago, and it’s a pretty big blow to the experience.(The free wine/sake + bento box special was the best thing it had going for it…)

quick friendly service, had the gyoza and queen’s roll. both tasty. I would have given 4 stars but they said their beer and wine license was in the process of being renewed so they could not serve me a beer.

Not a fan of this at all. I ordered red curry with veggies and a tom yum soup. My red curry had absolutely no flavor, it just tasted like water. And the rice was over cooked. My soup, was obviously fish broth(bad for me as a vegetarian), and I should have assumed that it was., but all of their other broths are labeled on their website. So maybe they should label this one too? My delivery took over and hour and then I literally threw the entire meal away. Epic fail for lunch today.

I’m currently shoveling my delivery order in my mouth as we speak. I got the Chicken Pad Thai(no bean sprouts for me! they look like whale spunk), Wonton soup, and Thai Ice Tea. Chicken Pad Thai is decent. Never had this before so not sure where it rates as far as authenticity but it has a slight heat to it, the noodles are cooked perfectly, love the amount of crushed peanuts and decent amount of chicken. It actually was a big size portion considering this was the lunch special. The wonton soup was pretty good. Nice flavorful dumplings(only two itty bitty ones however) and the broth was nicely seasoned. Thai ice tea is OK. Again, something I never had before(was in an adventurous mood)… seems to me it’s supposed to be a bit creamier? And maybe more flavorful. Right now it kind of looks and tastes a bit like the orange part of a tea flavored candy corn… Can’t speak for service except I called because I forgot to ask for no whale spunk and the girl on the phone sounded bored. And the delivery guy wouldn’t come into the building and up the elevator… not sure if it was because it was raining and he was soaked or he just didn’t feel like it. Total with $ 2 tip came to about $ 12.50. Generally I wouldn’t mind trying this again but more so the sushi since that seems to have the better reviews. ***Updating this as by the end of the meal and the next day I realized it really wasn’t THAT good I was mostly just starving. I’ve had better Thai at a local place but this hit the spot for the day.

Not the best Pad Thai I have ever had, also not the worst. Can’t go wrong with the expansive menu as they will most likely have what you are looking for. Don’t eat here if you are expecting the greatest meal of your life, but if you are looking for a reasonably priced meal at a place with a large selection, Potluck is a good place to start.

They told me the Unilocal coupon does not apply to lunch. Ok sushi and my GF was happy with her vegetable fried rice. Service was poor despite only 2 couples in the entire restaurant. A quick decently priced lunch around the corner from FIT.

3.5 stars but I’l round up in this case. This is a great lunch option. 3 rolls and a salad will run you around $ 12 and the quality of the rolls is consistently good. A little bit of a walk for me and my coworkers, but we’ve found it’s better quality and better value than the other sushi places around here. They do takeout as well which is a nice option for a true sit-down waiter service restaraunt.

once again, that 20% discount on an ordering website drew me in. Seaweed salad, Salmon Roe and the Jade Roll(like a naruto roll… wrapped in cucumber, no rice). Salad was tiny in comparison to other places. Roll was unmemorable. And something has to be said for the wasabi when I was literally heaping it on and not getting that«Wasabi burn» we all know and love. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt with three stars. Delivery was quick, if not a little rude.

Potluck makes an attempt to not fall into the typical Americanized-Chinese fast food restaurant category by spending time on a little bit nicer interior & exterior, fancier fonts & more superficial appearance stuff, but the food quality still remains the same as others basically. Their menu items are extremely well-priced for the Chelsea area & I think it is so sweet of them to not charge me extra for brown rice. I like ordering their sesame chicken combo lunch(about $ 8) or their broccoli with brown sauce(I think this was $ 6, an option I save for my «healthier» days). Service is hit or miss, I’ve had some really nice and attentive people take care of me when I go and then there have been some crabby patties. Highly recommend doing takeout versus dining in.
