I am cuban. I ordered a Cuban Porchetta. I shared it with my cuban girlfriend. WEAPPROVE I am normally super judgemental when I see people trying to take on a cuban sandwich, but let me tell you that this may have been the most delicious Cuban Sandwich I have ever had in my life… and I’m from MIAMI! Thanks Porchetta for not only representing the Cuban sandwich but for exceeding expectations and setting a new bar with your delicious pork.

This place is great if you know what to order. Make sure you try their special seasoning and definitely get the potatoes… so damn good

While I support Porchetta’s ethically sourced meat, I did not find the pork in the namesake sandwich particularly delicious. The«crispy skin» was inedible and reminiscent of a rawhide chew treat for dogs. The cubano sandwich was good, partially because it did not contain as much crispy skin. Its proportion of meat to other ingredients was good. I would come back for the cubano.

The Cuban sandwich is as advertised. It’s satisfying with a good blend of flavors and avoids the trap of being too salty. Avoid their standard sandwich, which is tiny for the price and doesn’t taste particularly memorable. The inside is very small– there’s only enough space to sit 6 people total, so this is a place for when you want a sandwich to go. It’s worth checking out if you’re a fan of the Cuban sandwich.

Bahn mi is on point. The epitome of freshness. We accidentally ordered the pork Cubano, which isn’t worth your time. I’m a bad Jew, but these sandwiches are good

I’m salivating just writing this… The pork is on point, absolutely delicious time after time. The staff are always courteous and are quick to recommend their favorite dishes. It’s cozy in the winter and fresh in the summer.

Love the greasy crispy pork that is always oozing with goodness. awesome pork goodness comes on a plate, with greens or in a sandwhich. I was totally eyeing someone who got the special with greens and an egg on top! i got the bahn mi sandwhich and was not disappointed. have to remember the hard bits are actually the overly crispy skin! The problem is not sure why the service takes forever! be prepared to wait. not sure why that is since there are only like 4 seats around. might be hard to sit for large parties for sure– get take out or come in and out solo or with a cheap date?(maybe not so so cheap but this is a joint kind of place.)

The porchetta sandwich tasted pretty okay, but for 12 bucks, was both tiny and underwhelming. Seeing the roasting pig from outside, I had expected juicy pork with crispy skin, but instead what I got was dry pork with excessively hard skin. The bread was pretty good, but would have benefited from some mayo, olive oil, or something else to make the sandwich a bit less dry.

Porchetta, rich in fantastic fat but will make a dent in your chedda. This sandwich is not for the lighthearted because it is HEAVY. Oil from the herb roasted pork will permeate throughout the bread and into your pores. When you bite into the skin, it crunches and captains your sandwich to new heights. However, at the current price point I expect a bigger meal… por favor.

I had the Porchetta sandwich delivered via DoorDash. First thing I notices is how incredibly tiny this $ 12 sandwich is. Next off the flavor was… okay? It could have used something else. The bread was quality and so was thew pork but… that’s it? There were also 2 bits in my sandwich that were so tough as to be totally inedible, I actually hurt my teeth on one of them. Not going to get food from here again.

I was a fan of Porchetta(the business) starting with it’s original launch way back in the day, before they closed. I keened effusively when I was told of said closing. Now the question: is it still as good as it originally was, if not better… and will the new side dish options satisfy on the same level? Answer: with exception of the greens? Nope. TL/DR: Where is that amazingly succulent(and generously portioned) Porchetta Sandwich I fell in love with years ago? The one that had me walking down the street, eating my street-style sammy, literally moaning and walking into traffic with every deliciously distracting bite, while gorgeous fat and juices dripped all over my hands?! And why don’t all of your current sides match that level of ZOMG?! Get back to that level, and I’ll gladly pay any delivery fee — even trek the hour out of my way — to enjoy a guilt-inducing foodie affair, while dragging everyone I know along with me. Full review: I figured I was in trouble when the way-small-for-the-cost sammy had a sticker ‘Finest Lean Pork’. The pig on the sticker looked pleased; I did not. Traditional Porchetta is fatty and moist. While all the traditional flavor components were present, what I received was lean and dry, with a few small nibblets of moist hope… but mostly a cloying, difficult to chew and swallow endeavor. I checked the bread… nope. The juices weren’t hiding in there either… There were pieces of fatty«crispy» skin throughout… but they were so dry as to crack like bone when bitten(those which I could actually bite through, which were in the minority); not the amazing, crisp, delectable textural treat they should have been. The bread was chewy in a bad, «how fresh are you… really…» way. It didn’t even absorb the condiments I put on the sandwich to help bring moisture onboard. By the time I was finishes with the sandwich, I was actually glad to have not gotten my money’s worth, as any more would have — sadly — gone in the trash. The beans tasted clearly of all the flavor components they advertise… but were under cooked, even for an al dente approach. Cooking/stewing them longer to get them nice, soft, and thicken the thin sauce would have been perfection. The greens were actually quite nice. They pack a lot in there. Those were worth the $ 12/lb cost, unlike their beany counterparts. 3-stars for the awesome they were — and still could be! — flavor profiles being nailed, and awesome greens. But they gotta kick it up a notch in bang for buck and execution to not only get return business, but be a hole-in-the-wall joint worth keeping around.

Quaint spot in the east village. Will come back again for the excellent slow roasted porchetta!

This would have been a 4 star review, but for the money you’re paying I have to agree that the sandwich is quite small for the price tag. That said, it really is very tasty and my pork had big chunks of tender meat inside with bits of crispy skin. I got the cooking greens on the side, they were a little bitter, but cooked well with garlic cloves added. The crispy potatoes with burned bits are awesome. So indulgent. My one tip is, the pork with the bread and the greens is very rich and would be lovely to have something sweet to cut through that richness. Like some braised/roasted carrots and onion would provide just that extra dimension. But then again maybe the beans will do the job. Next time I come I will try it that way.

I’ve certainly enjoyed my fair share of pork, and I feel this place just didn’t cut it. I split a sandwich with my sister expecting succulent, juicy slices of porchetta with hopefully some flavorful crispy skin. Unfortunately, we were presented with somewhat dry slices of meat on dry bread. Luckily, we split this sandwich so not much money was wasted, but we were certainly disappointed. Bring lots of water to get this down! This is a small location so we ate outside seated at a bench on a cute little block. However, this is certainly not enough of a draw for a mediocre, dry pork sandwich. If you’re going to name your place after the main food item that you’re serving, it needs to always be on point. There’s simply no room for bad days.

Simplicity is great! Who said you have to seat at a fancy clothed table, with a fancy waiter to have a remarkable food experience? This place is a tiny, clean, nice, establishment in the middle of East Village that does perfectly right the only thing you should be interested on: The Porchetta! Food 5⁄5(One thing, remarkable flavor): Easy, there is only one thing to order. A Porchetta! It’s a very very well cooked well spiced pork sandwich which will leave a memory on you. Ambience 5⁄5(Tiny, but don’t need more): The place is tiny. Don’e expect more, you don’t need more, you are in the middle of East Village, just sit outside or walk around with this fantastic sandwich. The serve beer so that’s a plus. Service 5⁄5(Great!): As an example we asked for a restroom, ¾ of Manhattan would have said go hike. They said come in. They will take good care of you. That is service!

I ordered the famed porchetta sandwich through Stadium. It was the same price as it is in store($ 12 + tax = $ 13). I liked it, but it was a pretty small sandwich. Definitely worth trying if you’ve never had, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Whether you like it or not, at this point Porchetta is pretty much an NYC institution. Yeah, you can find people who complain about the meat being unadorned or plain or whatever but that is pretty much what Porchetta does and does alone: meat. The porchetta sandwiches here, unlike literally every single other place in this entire city, don’t come with mayo or a chipotle aioli or romesco or any other possible topping. They contain meat simply topped with a bit of the crispy skin that naturally houses it. Just bun and porchetta and that’s it… and it is really good. This meat is simple and glorious. It is an ode to pork and simplicity and solid cooking methods. It is herbaceous and subtle and filling. It rocks. And yeah, I get that this food might not straight melt your face, thus four stars, but it is quintessential NYC cuisine as well as a spot every hipster and food blog would mourn like they came here every day if it ever closed. The porchetta sandwich is my #1 here but the crispy potatoes and burnt ends are also a worthy accompaniment. So tldr, rock on Porchetta. I dig what you do.

After a grueling 7 hour trip from Virginia Beach, and the only thing I had to eat prior to this meal was half of a BK Whopper meal, I came here famished! The only complaint I have was maybe because of my hungry rating of 10, I felt that the portion size was a bit small. We got the Porchetta Sandwich, and they had a special two tacos so we got that as well. The sandwich itself was good, nice crisp to the bread, and the pork was on point! Like I said, only complaint was it was pretty small to me, and for $ 12? I have a big appetite! The tacos were good as well, lots of cilantro in it, but the pork made both of these dishes really good, which is the highlight of the place!

A friend of mine brought me here to taste the Porchetta Banh Mi Sandwich. As a fan of Banh Mi’s. I was instantly intrigued. Watching the slow roast of the Porchetta in the window. I quickly salivated from the colors and crispness of the meat. We ordered the Banh Mi of course and the potato and crispy ends. First bite. Reminded me going back to Europe. It was decent but not great. If they incorporated a little bit of sauce? or maybe some fatty parts of the meat that gives it that juicy but crispy texture. It would’ve been the bombs. BUT! The flavors are great, the bread is soft with a hint of crisp. Just a bit on the dry side. I would recommend putting some hot sauce or their oil of such to compensate it. Other then that. I would come back again and give it another shot. Plus the service was excellent! Down another star for the parking.

The pig skin was perfectly crisp & crunchy and the meat was mouth-watering moist. I had the porchetta sandwich and it was everything I envisioned it to be. The sandwich was basic, just the roll and the meat. I think they may have added a little olive oil to the bread which added a nice touch. I through on the dry rub(as advised by the cashier) and some of the sirachi hot sauce they have behind the counter and that was it. A perfect pork sandwich with bread crisp on the perimeter and soft on the interior! They also have pork tacos and a few other dishes. A definite return is inevitable.
