So sad to see this store closed. This was one of the few toy stores in the city where I can take my kids to on a Saturday afternoon and have them pick out a toy and seeing the smile on their faces. Thanks for the nice memories Planet Kids.

Limited choice, unfriendly staff. Once we arrived 3mn before closing time, they would not let us in, my kid was crying because we promised him a bubble toy. Didn’t bother the salesperson.

Just bought our UppaBaby Vista and the selection and prices are the same as online. They assembled within 5 minutes and I pushed it home. If there are any problems we can just bring it back instead of having to deal with an online retailer. Living close by we often see sales and promotion events going on. We were also lucky winners of the new Uppababy Mesa raffle at their car seat safety event! The owner of the store, Ariel, is also very prompt at responding to any emails or questions we’ve had in the past so we have no issues shopping here as long as we’re UWSiders.

This company has an online site, but doesn’t make it simple for the customer. The process should be: place the online order, receive confirmation and shipment emails, and then receive the correct products. That’s how every single one of my other dozens and dozens of online purchases I’ve made in the last few months have gone. With this company, the ordering process has been a hassle, and makes me wish I had just spent a couple more dollars and bought what I needed at an efficiently run big box store(as another reviewer keenly pointed out). I ordered a crib mattress on Amazon and needed to find sheets that fit. After a quick Google search, I came across the company’s online store, not realizing that they’re located in my area, and that the company(allegedly) makes same day deliveries in Manhattan. The sheets were priced well, even with shipping, so I went ahead and ordered them. I received a confirmation email, but after 4 days I hadn’t received a shipping email, so I took the time to call the company. I spoke to a very pleasant guy who told me(two phone calls later) that the order would be delivered that very same day(that’s when I learned about their Manhattan delivery truck). Then I received yet another call later on in the day to say my order would arrive the next day. It never arrived. It ended up arriving 2 days later via FedEx. Fine. Except it was the wrong color. NOTE: that’s already 4 strikes against them for lack of efficiency. The correspondence with the company continued… four emails later and I had to wait for the new business week to begin to await further instructions on when my sheets will be exchanged. Oh, and the last email I received didn’t have a salutation, a signature with title, or the company’s information attached to it, and excluded proper capitalization and punctuation — unprofessional. After again taking the initiative to contact the company, there was finally a resolution: they sent me the one crib sheet they had in stock, and I got to keep the two whites ones. So after all that, I paid for 2 sage colored sheets, and ended up with 2 white ones and one sage one. At least I got the sheets before my delivery date, unless other unfortunate reviewers. As I alluded to earlier, I make online purchases because of the supposed ease of shopping. Not the case here. Beware that if you order with this company, you risk being put to work — you have to have the spare time to be on top of your order, be home or available via telephone and email to make arrangements regarding the order, and not need the product in a timely manner. Otherwise, skip this store with their friendly but incompetent service.
