Total unexpected goodness. Me and my girlfriend went to Pith last night and the experience was totally unique and amazing, from the food to the ambience of the whole thing was really enjoyable. I would go back anytime and every time! The experience was super personalized and we really appreciated that, that’s a hard thing to come by in a city of 8 million people. Again, for being inside of a dorm, I was really having a great time before the food even came, and obviously the food blew me away, 4 courses following a very very very tasty cheese and bread platter, YUMMMMMMM! i would recommend Pith to anyone with the chance to experience it.

Going to Pith is such an incredible and unique experience. The food is a delicious work of art, and the chef(Jonah) makes it quite the learning experience. Jonah is a warm host and a funky person who is great to get to know. If you aren’t on the waitlist yet, get on it now. It’s worth it in every way and I can’t imagine any restaurant living up to the Pith experience!

My tastebuds experienced flavors they had never tasted before. I mean persimmon + coffee and muscovado geleé + crushed pepper? Like what? It was beautiful. All of it. Honestly, it was a bit surreal to be having an exquisite gourmet dinner in a Columbia dorm. I appreciated the chill vibes, the explanation of all the dishes, the wine, the occasional cussing. Oh and the MTV reporters who were there in the beginning lol. Thanks Jonah.

The Pith experience is unparalleled in New York. Chef Jonah met us in the lobby and made us feel so welcome, it was as if he were ushering us into his own home. We were greeted by a lavish plate of cheeses and house-cured pickles, followed by an absolutely perfect celery root soup topped with toasted almonds and pumpernickel crostini. The next courses, lamb and pollock, were both utterly balanced in their taste and texture. Any single course would have been worth the $ 15 fee, but all six or so together made this undeniably the best valued meal in the city. Chef Jonah treated us to free cocktails and coffee afterwards, and we only ended up leaving around 4AM. I can’t wait for my next dinner at Pith, even if it has to wait until February.

This place is the tits. Jonah welcomes you not only into his project, but into his home — this is much less a phenomenal restaurant experience rather than a peerless dining experience led by a close friend. Jonah made foods I don’t regularly enjoy — celery, carrots, nuts — into innovative, exquisite, and efficient masterpieces. Not only is the food absolutely fantastic, but the experience, the vibe, the atmosphere is totally Jonah. I have the privilege of knowing Jonah personally and I hope that everyone who engages in this experience will get to know the genius that is within the mind of this auteur. Can’t wait to come again!

Went here with four friends expecting some good food and maybe some wine. Was greeted at the door by Chef Jonah HIMSELF, enjoyed an amazing cheese spread with housemade pickled veggies, delicious marinated beans and more. Cheese spread was accompanied by a chilled bottle of rose and lovely conversation with the chef. Then onto main meal — a delicious and light mahi mahi ceviche with peppers, yellow tomatoes with fennel seeds, SEAREDLAMB atop carrot purée with chimichurri sauce(I have been reflecting on the genius of this dish all day), this delicious rice with dates and Moroccan spices underneath seared salmon some seared eggplant, and more chimichurri, a light delicious citrusy salad with peppers. For dessert we enjoyed moon cake(in honor of the lunar eclipse?), dark chocolate and delicious personalized cocktails with CHRYSANTHEMUMS in the ice like gorgeous and incredibly innovative. Honestly GREATESTMEAL I have had in my two years at Columbia.

PITH is a dining experience like none other in New York. The owner goes to great lengths to tailor and diversify the courses to your liking, and really makes you feel at home. The attention paid to detail on behalf of the chef is tremendous, and it is very clear he has a specific vision for your dining experience in a way that will push you out of your comfort zone. The magnificent food paired with excellent wine and conversation makes for a very memorable night!
