I’ve lived in the NYU area for 2 years and just discovered this shop tonight — and I definitely regret not finding it sooner! Lots of really cute dresses and jackets, though I was most excited by the jewelry; very on-trend(midi rings and cute variations from elephants to tribal designs). The sale items were awesome and everything felt unique without being overdone. The lady who runs the shop is also very sweet, and gives good input without being pushy.

If you’re looking for colorful, unique, and reasonably priced pieces to add to your wardrobe, Pink Penguin is the place for you. I stopped by while getting lost on my way to The Little Owl, and was never so glad for terrible GPS signal. I could tell just from the window displays that I would like the collection in the store; bold, colorful, and feminine. I just was sure if I was going to feel comfortable with the prices, seeing as most boutiques jack up prices to absolutely incongitable levels. After seeing a few items marked as low as $ 20, I let my inner shopaholic come out to play with my debit card. Thank goodness for being hungry, or I might just have spent more than I did. Oh well, guess I’ll just have to see Wicked on my next NYC trip… Beware if you’re a «large» lady. The clothing is made for you, but the dressing room is not. I’m 5’3″ and 125ish, and I was feeling a liiiiiittle bit cramped in the teeny room. If you’re working with much more than I am, I promise you’re gonna find yourself in a predicament.
