I love the concept of this place but the execution was less than perfect. I went in around lunchtime so I felt like I needed to get a savory pie, when I should have really just gotten what I wanted — a sweet one! I tried the chicken and mushroom savory pie, the woman working said it was the most popular. It was just okay — super greasy and the quality of the chicken was questionable. The pie was also on the cool side when this should be served warm. The concept here of coffee shop and sweet pies probably outweighs the savory pies. I would come back to taste the sweet pies but stay away from savory. The server who helped me was very friendly and knowledgeable.

I bought two boxes of six mini pies from Pie Face, and regretted every penny spent on these greasy dessert. The first box contained the savory meat pies. I tried the Chunky Steak. They really shouldn’t call it «steak,» because all I got were chunks of fat in overly sweet sauce. The crust was also extremely greasy and heavy. On the dessert side, I tried the Lemon, Blueberry, and Pumpkin. The pumpkin pie basically had a thin layer of pumpkin purée on top of once again extremely buttery crust. The crust for the blueberry tasted more like biscuit. I actually liked the Lemon, but I wouldn’t call it «pie» because it was definitely more like cheesecake.

Walked all the way to this pie face location today in the 90+degree heat to get my fav thai chicken curry pie, walked all the way back to my office and realized they gave me the wrong pie! This is not the first time this has happened, it has happen to me in 3 different pie face location where they gave me the wrong pie! If management is reading this, please do something!!! Everything should be marked clearly so the employees wont make the mistake again! i just dont know how hard it is for them to get the right order!! I seriously hesitate to go back to any pie face location now… so mad!

Familiar concept for anyone who has been to Australia or New Zealand, but these pies just aren’t as good as the pies from Aus/NZ. The crust was not light and flaky, but dense and greasy. I do like how there are lots of interesting and non traditional filling options(i.e. pizza, chicken parm, thai curry, cheesesteak), but they are hit or miss in terms of tastiness. I really liked the pizza, but the cheesesteak could not hold a candle to a halfway decent cheesesteak. Also, given that one pie($ 6) doesn’t quite fill me up for lunch, this place is a bit pricey, and there are no healthy options. May stop by when I am craving a pie, but its not going to crack my regular lunch rotation.

The service is always quick and friendly here. The pies are really tasty too… but what happened to the Stack option? Mashed potatoes and peas on my pie was one of my favorite things. The 2 for $ 10 is actually a pretty good deal… keep it as an option… but please bring the Stack back!

The pies here are absolutely amazing. The most impressive thing is the ingredients are real, simple, and exactly what you would use in your own kitchen. Nothing unpronounceable here! However, I was very disappointed to find out that they are no longer serving mashed potatoes on the side. How am I supposed to complete my meal? While dessert is nice, it’s just not the same as a chunky steak pie with a nice helping of mashed potatoes. And while I can purchase another pie, it’s not exactly the healthiest choice to overindulge in. Pie is awesome, but it really needs to be eaten responsibly.

Cute little pie place that serves all kind of pies– sweet, dessert pies to chicken pot pies to Philly cheese steak pies! Quite a selection to choose from. They have sandwiches, croissants, and things of that elk as well. Dozens of delicious drinks too. Their iced tea is fantastic. Four stars because it’s a little over priced for my taste. But I would come back!

I heard about Pie Face on Unilocal and decided to try it out. I got a bbq pulled pork pie and thai chicken pie because I’m fat and wanted to try two. The pork was good, but was mostly sauce with some pork thrown in. The thai chicken one was amazing. It has strong thai flavors all in a great flaky crust. The pork pie’s crust was very good too. I would definitely come back and try something else along with another thai chicken pie.

The first time I had ever heard of Pie Face, it was right after one of my relatives got back from Australia. Although they might be just a chain, they’re also one of the more random things she misses from her time Down Under. So, when I heard Pie Face also had locations in NY, I had to stop in to see what the big deal was all about. Walking in, I was somewhat surprised to see Pie Face is more of a café/coffee shop than an eatery. Besides their pies(both savory and sweet), they also offer a variety of coffees, pastries, and sandwiches. Sadly, none of the pies were filled with baby koalas*, so my friend and I went with Plan B and got the CHUNKYSTEAKPIE since it’s supposedly their most popular one. Despite it being a little unsettling to cut into(the crust is marked with a facial expression, and a sad one at that), the pie was okay — nothing amazing, but nothing awful. The filling was more stew than«steak» and the flavor was rather generic, but it was meaty and the beef wasn’t overcooked. As for the crust, it looked a shade overdone, but it was pretty soft(though not flakey). While I can’t say I share the same enthusiasm for them as my relative, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s because Pie Face is just better in Australia(much like Yoshinoya in Japan). Plus, the menu didn’t include the one she recommended as her favorite(Peppercorn Beef). At roughly $ 5 – 6 a pop, I’d personally prefer Halal Guys, but Pie Face isn’t terrible and convenient if you are on the go or if it’s late at night(they’re open 24⁄7). *And no, I do not, in fact, eat baby koalas. At least, not since I got sick that one time. Now, baby pandas, on the other hand…

Some exhausted souls buying, selling & eating pies & drinking coffee. I feel so triumphant when I can have a conversation with the people across the counter, especially around 9 or 10 pm and they’re looking forward to going home. You have a better chance of getting casual, even personal with them. This guy had more than 15 hours worth of a shift just behind him, and he had that tired kind of smile to prove it. He got me my vegetarian pie with chickpeas and spicy curry and small coffee w/soy for under $ 10. While 24-hour businesses mostly seem oppressive, especially chains, they sometimes manage to produce beautiful things. That is kind of the magic of the Pie Face chain. I won’t recommend ALL their pies, croissants and other pastries, but this coffee and pie hit the spot, and above exchange kept me going, too.

I don’t know how the food tastes. The review is on customer service. They seemed to ignore me while I stood in front if the cash register waiting to place an order. After a little bit another cash register attendant said he can help the next guest so I moved over there and tried to get his attention by holding up my wallet. Apparently he noticed someone on the other end of the counter and just pointed at him. So after waiting and being ignored, I just walked out. I cannot deal with incompetent service whether in fine dining or fast food.

Been to Pie Face before and have loved it(brings me back to time I spent in Australia), but have to say I’m upset after a recent visit. Stopped in while walking Super Bowl blvd., place wasn’t jam packed, yet the service was slow. I ordered 2 pies, one bacon egg and cheese pie, which was basically nothing but egg and slightly cold. The other pie was a philly cheese steak, which was better, but still not as good as I have had in the past. Oh well, still gonna give 3 stars though since I don’t know any other place that serves meat pies…

Stopped in here with Princess because she was raving about their pies and I thought the name was cute. Didnt try the meat pies as this was a sweet snack moment. I had the mini cherry pie and I am a cherry pie enthusiast and like them a little tart but this was just lip puckering tart. The Lemon pie she got was hard from staying in the cooler too long and it made the texture unpleasant. She was let down as she had this same pie when they opened and loved it. The pies are adorable looking with the little smiley face but at 3.50 for a tiny pie its crazy even for Midtown.

I’ve walked past this place a few times and been wanting to come in — I don’t eat pie, but I like smiley faces. I got a pain au chocolat and a capp. Surprisingly cheap for NYC — total of ~ $ 5.50 Cappuccino — ok Croissant — she offered to heat it up – yes, please! I’m about half-way through and still wondering where the chocolate is. Super cute inside– I’m a sucker for smileys, really, enough to ignore missing chocolate in my pastry. Free refills on brew — woowoo! I probably wouldn’t come back. Too many places in this city.

The staff here almost knocked me over with enthusiasm as I walked in the door to #paywithatweet. Super friendly all around and an enticing display case — the promo tandoori vegetable pie was pretty good and I wouldn’t be against returning to another location in their expanding empire.

(i would probably give this place a 3.5) it’s cool that there’s a chain in manhattan now that offers meat pies because i’m not acquainted with any other places that have multiple variations of this. while it is overpriced it makes sense since it’s located in midtown right near times square, but i don’t think i would pay the prices for the sweet pies when you can get bigger and better pies for not that much more $$$$ the interior was really cute and the employees were very sweet and helpful. goood for snacking! they serve the meat pies warm

I stopped in to taste their lemon pie… Ohhhh sooo yummy? A + in my book. I am so addicted now!!! My girlfriend tried their Tandoori Vegetarian, OMG this place might become my best friend this summer. Who cooks in the summer, well with Pie Face, you definitely don’t have to! My kinda place AND they are open 24-hrs…What else could you ask for!!!

I’ve only been here once and tried the mini apple pie. It was tiny, but tasted pretty good. They had a lot of different types of pies, so I do want to go back and try a few more.

OK I get it. Australia. Australia meat pie. Australia. You made your point. Now that I know it’s Australian, it’s just okay. Nothing great. As good as any average chain shop. Besides their self generated Australia hype, I’d go back.

After trying Pie Face for a second time, I’ve decided it is just okay. The meat pie are an allright snack but they’re not my favorite. I’ve so far tried the chicken meat pie and the thai meat pie. I don’t think I’ll get either of them a second time. The taste isn’t the best, and the chicken was too gooey… not how I like my chicken. I love the mini desserts though. The cheesecake bite is to die for. And the customer service is great.
