Fun place if you have ADD and want to experience several different things in one bar. The line was ridonkulous and we almost walked away, but decided to try our hand at walking to the front and they let us skip everyone with no cover. Being a girl has its perks sometimes. My friends dragged me to the«dance party» upstairs, and I loved the music, hated the space. It was hot, small bar with eh drink offerings. Everyone was slamming into each other so much I kept checking my drink if someone’s hair fell into it. I liked the first floor a lot better, but having a seat at the bar and drinking a Guinness poured perfectly by the older bartender(who reminded me of Daryl Dixon in 10 years) suits me better at my age. We didn’t check out the band area. $ 1 coat check, 3 bathroom downstairs and 1 in the main floor.

Nice bar for a quick visit into limbo where nothing is always the same yet still some what a boring confused option to default in late night les outings. The upstairs is more lively at times. However the door is unpredictable so dont depend on getting in, since the door guy secretly gets pms. If you get burnt, there are very nice hotel lounge options up the block.

Went to Pianos on a Saturday night around 10pm with a group of about 10 friends for a birthday celebration. The line was around the block but we got in just by going up to the bouncer and asking him if we could go in because the friends were already in. He didn’t charge us, but he charged the people before us $ 10 each… which was pretty odd. The line was even longer when we left. The place itself is pretty old and rustic looking. The first bar area is downstairs — extremely crowded. In the back they have the live band area where we didn’t go so I can’t speak much of it. The upstairs is a what they call«hip hop» area. The music is mostly cheesy and top hits kind of stuff. But it’s definitely a good time if you’re in the mood for dancing. That area is $ 8. They also have coat check for a dollar and free for bags. Drinks are a bit expensive for the level of the place. And for some reason everything(beer, tequila shots, gin and tonic, whiskey shots) were all $ 8.

I came to Pianos because friends were playing upstairs. I was impressed by the fact that this comparatively small place has two music venues, one upstairs and a backroom downstairs, and both offer dancing late nights, plus there is a more casual restaurant atmosphere both up and downstairs if you prefer it. What impressed me more was the food. Usually at a music venue the food is mediocre. This place is quite decent. My Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Fries were well done, crisp and served with three zesty dipping sauces. The fries were some of the best I’ve had at NYC restaurants and a Belgian treat with the spicy mayo. The service was pleasantly attentive as well, which was a change from many restaurants I’ve been to. I can’t give any loud dance venue 5 stars since the thrill of ringing in my ears wore off years ago, but this one definitely gets my 4.

Very rude, no customer service, no kindness to patrons by this one very rude LADY! I will never go there again. I was meeting a friend there for drinks on Saturday night. The place was packed. Very busy, very tight bar area. I tried to go upstairs to look for my friend. A rude employee yelled something to me when I asked about going up. I didn’t hear anything because it was so loud so I asked her again she rolled her eyes and said she had explained it to me. I said no you did not explain you just stamped my hand. She abruptly stamped my whole hand with a huge ink pad that smeared across my whole top of my hand. Which I found unnecessary. Then I said, where is your customer service? Why do I get treated like this? She said«we don’t have customer service and I don’t know what’s your problem LADY» I said, IS this the way you treat people, I’m leaving. I TOLDHER, You can just act like a bitch when ever you want. I said I’m not LADY, I have a name. I said I’m leaving again and then I looked for a manager and told him that she was rude and I left. She looked angrily at me the whole time. I know she must of had a bad night but still, I did nothing to make her mad. I only asked about going up. I hate this type of thing about NYC. The manager did apologize and said he was disappointed. I will not be going there again. I know it’s NYC, I know it’s busy but I feel that there are many bars with good service and I don’t give mean people a second chance.

Really enjoyed the live jazz and the cool cucumber drink I had but perhaps it was too early for the turn up so many friends have raved about. It was about 6PM on a Saturday. Also, there was happy hour so my friends who wanted $ 4 well drinks, wine, and beer were happy. But since I got a house cocktail it was full price $ 12. Luckily my friend paid for drinks although it was a delicious drink it would have sucked to pay full price when everyone else was on happy hour. Although good drinks are worth the money for sure. Didn’t get to try the food which might have increased my rating so would return to try the fried pickles one of my personal favorites.

Let me preface this review. I’m 28, if you’re my age or older, you probably won’t enjoy this place. However, if you’re between the ages of 22 – 25, this may be your scene. This place is RATCHET and there is usually a line outside. Let’s be frank, Pianos is a dive bar with hip-hop music and mediocre drinks. A pint of Stella Artois will cost you $ 8 bucks. The venue is split into several rooms. The main room is just a place to sit down and grab a drink — nothing special. The back room has a stage and is very small. Sometimes they’ll charge cover if there is a band/live performance. The second floor is much larger and is also pretty rachet. Typically, they charge a $ 10 cover to go upstairs.

I used to love that bar and go there often, but let’s be realistic: — the line is always extremely long, — the music is way too loud and it is extremely packed, — service is not great That being said it still has some pros: — live music for cheap, — cheap food/drinks, — easy to get in, — special ambiance that you can’t really find anywhere else. I recommend this place early night as a pregame when it is not too crowded and packed yet.

Wow, that bartender is a major douchebag. This is what you might think if you go to Pianos. But really, I was excited to engage in some much need happy hour enjoyment(the happy hour is a pretty good deal) when I, god forbid, decided to ask the bartender what wine they had. He decided the best way to answer was to roll his eyes and turn his head away while answering. That kind of superiority makes one less returning customer.

Strong $ 4 Frozen Margaritas for their 2−8PM Happy Hour. Weekends here are a mess, but this place is a gem off-peak hours. The ground floor bar is really pretty and the food is surprisingly *very* good(order the fries, every time). DO: come here before 8PM any day of the week, especially early in the week. Mon/Tues/Weds happy hours will have people but won’t be busy. It’s the perfect amount of people. If you only come here on weekends, you’ll never know anything but the mobs of people and 4 rows deep of people waiting for drinks.

We had a fun time here. It’s a high energy type club packed with people looking for fun. Here are the highlights: + Band downstairs, dj upstairs. + $ 8 to get upstairs, but not if you get there before 10! + Still lots of people there already by 10. + Decent selection, good beats, and a nice crowd. + Expensive drinks, about $ 9.50 for a vodka sprite. + Got some sick pics with the sweet leopard mural near the bathroom. + Décor is weird in general, there is a window next to the stairs filled with stuffed animals, including a large penguin, sitting on top a multicolored floor.

DAMNYOU, PIANOSANDYOURHALFPRICEDMARGARITAS!!! No seriously, thanks for the all day hangover. *Remembers waving phone in musician’s face and telling him he’s on my snap chat. Shivers. Goes back to bed to forget about the embarrassment* Cute, divey, bar downstairs with friendly servers. The upstairs is dark, almost has a speakeasy or old fashioned night club vibe, and the live jazz music was pretty cool. Just to reiterate, these margaritas are deadly strong, really hits you like a ton of bricks. I really wished that there was some kind of DJ music after the band, but there wasn’t, only radio. Not like THAT stopped me from dancing my heart out, no really, it should have, I think considering it is unanimously agreed upon that you cannot come to this place and NOT find yourself drunk, the music should match the vibe. People get pretty inebriated, and want to dance and party and the type of music kind of doesn’t match that mood. Food was OK, a little over priced, 7 dollars for a small cone of fries. Nachos were cheesy and came with chick peas on top, kind of odd. From what I remember, this was a pretty cool place, but wouldn’t go out of my way to come here.

OMG! their frozen dark and stormy was everything on this summer night. I wish I had know about it before because it would be my go-to-drink. Especially at $ 5 during happy hour which ends at 8pm. I found out afterwards that Pianos is the after-hours spot where musicians and artist hang after their jam-sessions or broadway shows. So you never know who you will bump into. Its such a casual New York thing.

Margaritas were the first thing we ordered downstairs and the older man bartender clearly hates his job. Its a very busy spot and if this spot would add some fun hip and cool bartenders downstairs they would defiantly makes some money. I just cant stand when I go to a bar and order a drink and he looks at you with the weirdest face in the world as if you ordered something he never heard of. ITS a margarita with salt…(not hard JOE)… So my first experience walking in was a few weeks ago and my margarita downstairs was delicious. The second time not so much. Moving on… The upstairs was soooo much fun. The battles, the crazy drunk people, the happy people, and really overall a great time upstairs. The DJ and the music was amazing. It was my type of music. Very mixed and fun. if you want to get your boogie on and listen to some music and enjoy the amazing bartenders UPSTAIRS check this spot out. I had a great time.

I was here to meet some friends after work on a Friday & the place was pretty crowded. We settled towards the back by the stairs drinks we had Jack & diet not bad & Vodka & cranberry pretty good & strong. The place is two floors, regular music plays below while live music u can find upstairs. After a few drinks we needed some food to pick on we tried the Chipotle Buffalo Wings & Chicken & Fries. Good wings with a nice kick to them the Fried Chicken was good as well came with 3 dipping sauces orange one was spicy, white sauce had a nice yogurt taste & the yellow one I wasn’t too crazy about it had a strong horseradish taste. The fries were pretty too. We stuck around for a bit I didn’t see any of the crazy stuff about people spoke off, but oh well not sure how I would react to seeing people doing Blow on the counter lol . Any how we ended up leaving to check out some of the other bars in the area & a few hours later ended up back here this time we made our way upstairs live entertainment was playing not bad music playing was hip hop. This place was not bad good vibe & crowd below, good music playing some dancing going on upstairs, bathrooms are kinda icky, prices are decent & service at the bar was good we had fun I wouldn’t mind coming back.

They have the BEST thai chicken burger that I have ever had in my life. I once went there twice in a week just for the burger. Always a good vibe. Came here on a Tuesday night and it was popping. Their happy hour specials are so cheap and all of the food that I’ve had here has not been short of delicious.

Like late night dancing? Check this place out! I’ve been here a couple of times and always have a blast! So fun, in fact, that when my friends ditched me last minute one night, I came to Pianos by myself ANYWAY to get my dance on. It is so fun. It’s also on the greatest street because you can dine at Taquitoria and get drinks at No Fun in addition to shaking that groove thing.

3 stars for the nice waitress upstairs and for the delicious $ 4 margaritas during happy hour! Music was just not my thing. Ordered chicken nachos, barely had chicken and had chick peas on it. I thought it was the strangest thing ever. Just made it taste a little too funny. Think I’d only return for the drink happy hour specials.

Ah, Pianos. Just go and have a blast.

Really cool venue. Husband took me here for my birthday night out in the city because he knew I’d been itching for something different… some live music. We came while the lead guy from Spindrift was performing songs from the soundtrack of a movie. He was premiering the soundtrack. It was pretty neat seeing some live music and the crowd that was here. We mostly stayed downstairs and just hung out and relaxed with some drinks. As for drinks, the front bar area had a great selection of beers $ 8 each. Upstairs had a different selection of music and a dj after 10:30. The coat check downstairs was a convenient option at $ 1 per item. This was a cool spot that we will keep an eye on the performance schedule so we can return.

Aaaaah ! le Pianos ! Combien de bonnes soirée y a-ton passé? Beaucoup !
