Had a good run with this cleaner for a few months. Their service began slipping, beginning with their refusal to give me a new bag when the drawstring broke.(First world problem, I know). Since then clothes have been stained, shrunk, burned, MELTED, late, smelled unclean and gone missing. Yet, I’m not sure where else to go. Suggestions welcome. This place is bad and getting worse.

I have used this dry cleaner for the last 5 year. They had a brief slip last year, but since then they hired a very nice guys who brought back the service to the great level that I am used to. I recommend it. Also, once my belt did not come back with my dress and they worked hard to find it. I like them a lot.

ZEROSTARS! Awful customer service, they charged me $ 25 to shorten a sleeve and then called me 20 minutes later to tell me that they will be charging me an extra $ 20 because they charged me the incorrect price. I will never do business here again and HIGHLY recommend that anyone on Unilocal avoid them. There are plenty of great places close by and Personal Touch Valet is not one of them

I am absolutely LIVID! This place charged me $ 5.75 to dry clean a shirt, and $ 16 to serge a small piece of fabric, literally size if a belt. To top it off when I paid for my item the guy claims that I didn’t pay for an $ 8 bill from last year(which my husband definitely paid for by cash) at pick up. Just absolutely horrible service, it’s worth waking an extra block to another dry cleaner. They also do a bad job in general. If there was an option to give this place 0 or negative stars I would.

I have been using this place for a while now with very few issues until recently. They shrunk my roommates hugo boss shirt and lost my brand new brooks brothers dress shirt and refuse to acknowledge any wrongdoing. The owner refuses to strike a compromise on replacing the cost of the shirt and has no worry about customer satisfaction. They also never deliver on time, when your expecting your shirts by sat you will be lucky to get them by tuesday.

Unprofessional and incompetent. I brought in a two piece blouse(sheer tank on the inside and thin sweater on the outside). First It came back to me WITHOUT the tank. Then it came back with the tank attached BACKWARDS. The third time they attached the tank INSIDEOUT. When I complained, the man at the sewing machine was rude, unprofessional and aggressive. Perhaps he felt defensive faced with the THREE mistakes he made on the same blouse. I showed him the tank was inside out and he said«that’s how it’s supposed to be». He actually tried to tell me that the blouse is supposed to be inside out! When I objected, he walked away and refused to listen to anything I had to say. And then he stared me down as I left the store!!! I just find it outrageous that they mess up my blouse 3 times and then have the audacity to treat me so rudely. This was not the first time they’ve ruined an article of clothing(my silk dress came back with bleach stains!) but it’s certainly the last. If you like your clothes, I’d go elsewhere. This is absolutely the worst dry cleaners I have used. Never again.

Been using P-Touch(as my building’s doormen call it) for about two months after I lost my laundry card and decided it wasn’t worth spending 10 bucks to get a new one. Don’t know if that’s exactly works out in terms of a cost benefit analysis… but it works for me since I gained two hours of my life back every week. I call around 5 pm the day before I want to schedule a pick up. I drop off my laundry or dry cleaning at the front desk the night before and they pick it up in the morning, usually pretty early. Laundry turn around can be same day but usually is next day and dry cleaning is a few days but I’m sure you can rush if necessary. It’s $ 1 extra for separate color/whites. Never had a problem. My sheets are finally wrinkle free.

I’ve been using PTV for about a month now and have had no problems. The guys in the store are always friendly and they deliver my clothes on time. The shirts are always pressed perfectly and the dry cleaning smells fresher than most places in the city. Long story short — I’m a fan.

I feel compelled to write an updated review in order to warn people that you drop stuff off here at your own risk! Despite my misgivings from prior experience, my husband dropped off a pair of pants here to be tailored and dry cleaned, because he was in a rush and they are right downstairs. The pants never came back. Every day we heard a different excuse: the tailor was sick, the dry cleaning machine is broken, etc. Finally they told us they lost the pants. The girl behind the counter wouldn’t refund our money. She said the manager would have to call to give us a «credit». The manager never called. We are still trying to get our money back from them. Be warned. They are awful.

I am LIVID. This place is the worst dry cleaners I have ever used. One of my work skirts came back with the entire bottom seam thread ripped out so that the raw edge of the skirt is hanging out. They’ve bleached two of my bf’s button-down shirts, and have actually cracked and broken large buttons on two of my cashmere cardigans. It’s unbelievable. My scarves come back, not FOLDED, but literally thrown onto a hanger, wrinkled and messy. If you care anything about your clothes, do not come here. I’ve started using Omni Cleaners down the street on 10th(next to the Dunkin Donuts) and they are SO much more professional.

I just recently moved into the victory. On my second time using Personal Touch for wash and fold, they lost 5 brand new towels and irreparably stained a sheet set. I reported the incident to them and was given the run around for 2 weeks, as they tried to find my towels and remove the stains from my sheets. Once it became apparent that my towels were gone and my sheets were ruined, I asked for them to compensate me for my damages. Iemren(the manager on duty) accused me of lying and said he would do nothing to compensate me. I asked to speak to the owner of the business, and Iemren said he was not allowed to give out the owner’s information. He also said that despite the fact that the owner has 10 other locations, he has no business number where he can be reached. I have never been so poorly treated a dry cleaner. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else(Perhaps Hong’s, one of the doormen told me they receive far fewer complaints about Hong’s)

The price here(beside the Victory apartment building, near the Lincoln Tunnel) has been among the lowest in the Hell’s Kitchen area, at about 85 or 90 cents/lb, and they’d be getting 5 stars if they had even a LITTLE clue about matching socks(even the obvious ones are sometimes mismatched). The pickup/dropoff turnaround is usually 24 hours or so, and I’ve got zero problems with the actual cleaning process — they go out in big bags and come back clean and neatly folded. I have had on a couple occasions had problems with misplaced laundry, and once I had to go to the cleaner’s to go through two bags of laundry that they inadvertently combined, to pick out my own stuff from the pile(they comped me that cleaning). Overall, I don’t have much basis of comparison but these guys are definitely an adequate option at least.
