3 stars for this place means it is fine– nothing spectacular and nothing terrible. Service was quick and fine. Their breakfast buffet was sparse but what was there was good– you get your staples including cereals, bagels and toast, coffee and juice, scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon, potatoes, yogurt and a bowl filled with apples and oranges. However, no fancy schmancy things I am used to at other hotel breakfast buffets including cheese platters, omelette station, fruit platters and smoked salmon/cold cuts. I would say 15 dollars is a bit high for very basic breakfast items. It would’ve been more fair at 10 dollars. We stayed at the plaza for 3 days and ate here every breakfast because of the convenience and we were satisfied. However, it isn’t the type of place to go out of your way for if you weren’t staying at the hotel. They do let one party mix and match(some can participate in the buffet and some can order ala carte) so I tried the breakfast burrito for 12 dollars. I would say just stick with the buffet.

Hours posted on Unilocal reads 6am — 3pm. Hours posted on the sign at the door reads 6am — 2pm. I walk in at 12:50pm a waiter looks at me and walks away saying nothing. There is no host at the stand so I walk on in to and ask another waiter do you just sit anywhere and his reply was yes. So I grab a seat near other patrons and the waiter that originally looked at me and walked away comes over and says with a pissy attitude, «This side is closed!» I responded, «He just told me to sit anywhere.» So he walks over to the other waiter and says, «Did you tell that guy to sit anywhere?» So now I’m annoyed. I guess I made it up. When he returns to my table 5 minutes later I said, «So you thought I was lying to you?» He mumbled something and said, «What do you want?» As I was saying«A menu» the hostess comes over with one so I said, «I need two minutes.» Eight minutes later he returns with his pissy attitude and says, «what do you want?» I order and wait. 6 minutes later the coffee I ordered arrived followed closely by my meal. Customer service here sucks! Last resort eatery only. Save yourself the frustration.

Dined at Embers lounge(previously pavilions grille) and the food was okay but the place had very slow service due to understaffing.

Now Embers, Pavilion Grill is gone except for continental breakfast. Embers lounge has full dinner menu and same kitchen as Pavilion Grill that may open again? Full bar and excellent beer choices, Stella and Dinkel Acker Octoberfest on draft today. Pizzas, interesting choice if entrees,(see photos) Tried the gumbo which was made with a fair roux, it ain’t Baton Rouge, but not bad and recommended by server. Bar fare served around me, burgers, Reuben, onion soup all looked good and well presented, other guests not complaining on this Memorial Day weekend. Nice relaxed, pleasant location, comfortable padded chairs. Give this place a try if stuck at LGA at Hampton or Marriott across street for a pleasant meal and beverage.

$ 6.50 for a Sam Adams and $ 16 for a burger? Restaurant website said tht happy hour was from 5 to 7 but the bartender had no clue. I walked up to Astoria Blvd and had a nice Greek platter and a crafty beer for 1⁄3 less than this cheesy place. I could have eaten at LGA before heading to the hotel.

I usually have breakfast here and the food is not bad. I always had a fast service all the times I have been there. No complaints.

Ordered the chicken Panini and Salad, which was very good. My hotel is located next door with no restaurant, so I was glad to hear that this restaurant was near by. Service was good and price reasonable.

THEWAITERTIPPEDHERSELFWITHOURCARD! Here is what happened: The one star is for the terrible service. We never got water refills and the waitress neglected us while we were there. She even prefaced her bad service by saying that she was working alone and we would need to please excuse her for having little time, but there were only two tables at the restaurant, us and another party of a few people, so I don’t think that excuses her negligence. We had to get the water pitcher to give ourselves refills. We left a very small tip because all the waitress did was bring out our food, and then when we checked our credit card statement, we saw that the waitress had apparently given herself an additional five dollar tip on our card. We have disputed this with our credit card company and we have been refunded the money. A formal investigation has been undertaken to confirm that the tip money was not authorized by us. This is absolutely, one hundred percent unethical, and we are appalled that a waitress would take it upon herself to leave a tip on our card, when she neglected us the whole time we were at the restaurant. Pitiful and disgusting behavior. As for our lunch, the food was fine, not exceptional by any means, but our meals were average for what we would expect at a place like this.

Service was extremely slow, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. The conventional thought that they were taking their time to prepare something exceptional was quickly debunked when the food finally arrived and was not remotely close to the quality you would expect from a $ 17 burger, which is actually the cheapest main entrée in the menu.

I have to only give pavillion grill a 2 rating because the food could not overcome the service and price shortfalls. The prices for eveything but the pizzas are high, $ 17 burger and everything else was in the $ 20 – 30 range. Ihad the kobe burger that was forgetable at best. My wife hade the vegetable pizaa which was very good and worth getting again. Service was very slow even for being 1 of only 3 groups present.

Pavilion Grille — I never expected to find this ABSOLUTEGEM at an airport hotel… so glad I did! I am sure that I am not the only person that seems less than excited about the thought of eating in a hotel restaurant — even worse… a restaurant that is located inside of an airport hotel! This week I was completely taken by surprise when I found an absolute gem, the Pavilion Grille, residing inside of the beautiful Crowne Plaza LaGuardia Hotel in East Elmhurst. My friends and I started with appetizers, of course not expecting much and we were all wonderfully surprised with the Pavilion Grille’s delicious selection. I had the quick fried calamari which was lightly battered, fried golden brown, and tossed in a mango, ginger, and apple sauce… YUMMY! Two of my friends opted for the grilled portabella mushroom stuffed with sweet sausage, broccoli rabe, and plenty of creamy Gorgonzola cheese. This dinner soon became our community meal because we all began passing the plates around for each one of us to try. Moving on to our entrees we behaved like kids waiting for their cookies to come out of the oven, all giddy with expectations of the flavors that awaited us. I daringly ordered the recommended Wagyu Kobe Strip Steak because honestly I couldn’t believe that it only cost under $ 36.00. Steak houses that I frequent charge at least $ 85 to order Kobe Steak. When the waiter brought my Wagyu… well let’s just say that the Wagyu had tongues wagging! It was delectable, served with fingerling potatoes, shitake mushrooms, sautéed spinach and last but not least topped with Pavilion Grille’s herbed steak butter. The other two plates at our table were fork tender roasted pork loin in peach and bourbon reduction. This was served with bourbon and raisin mashed sweet potatoes and sautéed asparagus… DELICIOUS!!! I am not a huge fan of asparagus, but even I enjoyed that! We found out that the entire restaurant was remodeled last summer and that The Pavilion Grille’s chef, Michael Smith had come from top rated restaurants such as The River Café in Brooklyn and ILO in Manhattan. He is behind all of the Pavilion Grille’s gourmet masterpieces! We plan on returning this month with more friends so that we can taste our favorite dishes and try the ones that we missed such as the Chef’s signature gourmet grilled pizzas. With our larger group we can all taste a little bit of heaven one plate at a time!
