Pat Hoffman Friedman Playground, Central Park

Many people know this playground by the Paul Manship sculpture «Group of Bears» by the entrance (another copy of which is in the Met). Beyond the bears is the entrance to a small playground. It’s not much, some jungle-​gym climbing equipment, a spiral slide into a sandbox, a sprinkler, and some kiddie swings (more swings than at Heckscher, I might add). Shadier (and thus, cooler) than its counterpart on the north side of the Met, the Ancient Playground. We went to both today, but spent more time at PHF, because of the heat (even though it was cooler today than it has been!)
I would visit if in the area, but I’m not sure it’s worth the trip from York Avenue unless I really need variety.
