The Park Ave Barbershop is a hidden gem for hair care in the Flatiron. Don’t let’s it’s size fool you. This cozy shop boasts four chairs with four talented barbers ready to provide the freshest cuts this side of Broadway. With the sharpest blades and friendliest smiles, you couldn’t ask for more when it comes to your grooming needs.

When starting a job in this part of town, I began looking for a new barber to go to nearby. This shop is great — I haven’t had a complaint about my cuts from there. I’m not a fan of fancy, over-the-top cuts and styles, so it’s good to know there’s a shop close by able to pull off a simple trim/buzz for a man. Things move pretty fast too where I was able to stop in for a few minutes midday during lunchtime and I was out in about half an hour. A plus is that they accept credit cards so you don’t need cash, but they up-charge $ 1 for processing.

This is the best barbershop I’ve been to in the area. These guys are incredibly reliable — give a great cut, no matter who’s doing it. Highly recommend this place.

Totally impressed. Came in from Grand Rapids needing a quick cut. Found them nearby on Unilocal. Guy was a wizard with the scissors and cheaper than at home.

Hello all. I admit I am a very picky person. I pride myself on looks and decided to give this group a try. Satisfied! I was looking for something fancy, but these guys came thru with simple customer service that speaks volume. They are friendly, honest conversationalists and suggesters, but will only do exactly what you want; which is great because that’s exactly the second thing I was looking for. All around a good group of guys with good skills and genuine pleasant customer service.

These guys are awesome. Nick does my cuts. I walk down from my job on 34th and 5th and it’s worth it. It’s pretty simple: good price, good cut, don’t have to sit around waiting all day and they guys are hilarious. They also do shoe shine /repair there so you can get it all done on your lunch break.

Manny & Nick run a great shop. Great cuts, Bill Burr or some other hilarious comedian is always on the TV while I’m getting a cut and Manny & Nick have become good friends… as every good barber should be. You’re not gonna beat their prices on Park Ave and it’s a great hangout unlike some of the other stuffy places in the city.

Top spot in the area for a cut, shave, trim or just shoot the shit with some fun guys. These guys are easy going, do the job and always have some entertainment on the TV. Sometimes they might even give you a beer. Need your shoe shined while waiting? They got it. This is the place to go for all your grooming needs.

I’m a woman with an undercut pixie and my hair grows at a superhuman speed so I decided to stop by to touch up my undercut in between very pricey haircuts with my regular stylist. I’ve never been to a barbershop but I have to say that not paying 40% more just because I happen to be a lady was nice! Also I felt like I had entered a secret boy’s club(how fun!). Eric did a good job and asked me questions and it was well worth the money. Thanks!

This is my go-to barbershop. Every city that I’ve lived in I’ve had a go-to barber that cuts the way I always like it — this is my spot for NYC. 5 stars for consistency alone and 5 stars for service and the cut.

Great barbershop and great cut! They have a nice flatscreen tv and Apple TV too to watch while you wait or get your cut. Highly recommend!

My kind of barbershop. Came in around 9:15 on a Wednesday and there were two barbers, one was free. We engaged in some small talk and he asked me what I’d like. Got a 1 – 2 on the sides, nothing off the top. He asked if I come over the top, I said yes. Ariel gave me an excellent cut for an excellent price at the student rate of $ 19. He remembered from conversation that I was in school and volunteered the discount. He says, otherwise it’s $ 22 which is still a great price. He was very detailed in his work but didn’t take forever. Ariel also combed through the top to thin out my fairly thick kinky hair. Finished off with a quick razor edge over. Very chill spot in the bustle of Gramercy. I love that it’s a few blocks from the office. Will definitely be there again.

The barbers here take their time and put a lot of care into their hair cuts for a great price. They seem to know how to deal with all kinds of styles and hair types. I’ve never left disappointed.

I’m about to move back to Boston but in my 3 years in Manhattan I must have tried out at least a dozen barbers. This is by far the best one I found. All of the barbers are solid too not just one. Highly recommend!

I arrived at my usual barbershop 20 mins before it opened and was quickly turned away. Since the barber was already there and I had tipped him well the last time, my butthurt self decided to find another shop closeby instead of waiting. It was my silent protest against his betrayal of my previous generosity. I find this place on Unilocal and from the plethora of 5 star reviews expected at least a reasonable grooming experience, if not a decent cut to go with it. The karma gods must have been aware of my spiteful intentions because i got neither. I got the barber who decided to become a barber because he didn’t know what else to do with his life. First of all, what kind of barber doesn’t ask how you want your sides done? It never made a difference to me, but it’s not like he knows that. He then took the Windex bottle and Katrina’d my head for a full minute, casually wiping the water coating my face with his bare friggin hands. But the ends always justify the means, so if the cut looks good I’m not complaining. Which brings me to my last point. Now«trim» is a fairly ambiguous term but I figured he’d still leave enough hair for me to part to the side because that’s what I had asked for. He cuts it way too short. Well sh*t, there’s no turning back now. My only reprieve was that the«service» lasted no more than 10 mins and that my barber appeared as unenthused as I was. They say you can’t put a price on self-esteem. The price for the opposite of self-esteem happens to be $ 27: $ 22 for the mutilation plus $ 1 for using a credit card(I only brought $ 20 in cash because that covered both the prinicipal and a generous tip at the other shop), plus a reluctant $ 4 tip I threw in to satisfy the barber looking over my shoulder as i filled out the receipt. And to think all this could have been avoided had I waited 20 minutes.

I’ve been getting my haircut here for the past three years. I live in Queens and have made the trek to the city just to have one of these guys cut the cabbage on my head. These Russians(Especially Manny) knows how to give me a fresh undercut. Will continue to get cuts here until they close… or get too expensive.

I’ve been coming here for years and it all boils down to one simple reason: it’s actually a barber shop. Not some frou-frou salon you walk out of with a $ 50 buzzcut. No, this is a throwback barber shop – the kind with a watch/shoe repair stand up front and reasonable prices out back. Some days they’ll throw you a beer(I guess it’s the days I go in the afternoon), most days they’re playing some Netflix or Hulu, and every day you walk out fresh with a couple bucks left in your pocket. In case you’re wondering, I usually get a 0 into a half on top. I see everything from shaves to banker styles coming out.
