Beautiful selection of cards and gift wrap. Service is always great and they let you browse without following you. Pricey but worth it when they have their semi annual sales!

The lady at the counter looked annoyed when I asked for help and then i felt like I was being treated like I was stupid because they didn’t have what I was after. They have such beautiful products in the store… Which is why I just bumped this up to 2 stars… The items are expensive yet even so I would have rated this store 5 stars if the service staff weren’t so rude.

Recently had a horrible experience at this location. Went in to buy some thank you cards, and the only ones I liked had a broken box. I asked for a discount, especially since I’m pretty sure the $ 18 I’d be paying includes the price of the box. But more importantly, I didn’t want the notes to wrinkle since I would be traveling with the cards. However, I was treated rudely. Shocked with the horrible service of this place. Plenty of places I can get cards from, I think I’ll take my business elsewhere thank you very much.

Friendly service makes this Papyrus location a stand-out. They greet you, offer help, and then let you browse in peace. Yes, there are classy greeting cards, and pricey, gorgeous wrapping paper for a special occasion. But there are also unusual gift options: boxed stationery, pretty pens, clever books. There’s even a sale table with miscellaneous tchotchkes. Relatively spacious layout and conveniently located near the billion hospitals on this stretch of the UES.

This Papyrus location is on par with many other Papyrus locations. It’s worth going to the Papyrus store for its selection, even though Papyrus cards are carried by Duane Reade and other places(I know that Rainbow Ace Hardware on 1st has them, but then again, Rainbow has everything). The same is true of Hallmark stores — the wider selection makes card stores worthwhile. Papyrus has cute greeting cards, stationery, and some other crap, but their focus is on cards, which is good — some card shops have loads of crap, and their actual card selection stinks, but not so at this Papyrus. I like the Papyrus card designs — you spend more, but get what you pay for. This sounds like a shill, so here’s an anecdote — I was in there the other day and I picked up a Christmas card, a birthday card, some thank-you notes, and another box of thank-you notes b/c they were buy one, get one half-off. Ugh I just re-read this review and it sounds like some content monkey wrote it. Whatever. Look, Papyrus is good, but not good enough for inspired prose, okay?

Quality, unique, clever greeting cards. Spend the extra $ 2 and make that special someone smile. Everyone likes opening their mailbox to something other than bills and credit card offers. You do too, don’t pretend! The service is great. I had two people check on me while browsing for Mother’s Day cards. Buy 3, get 1 free!
