Stopped in when I was in town over the Christmas holiday and it was packed both times I was there. Lively! Definitely not your grandpa’s Cigar shop, with the salsa music playing in the background. They charge $ 8 if you bring in alcohol, which is kinda overkill. But they need to make money, so I get it. They don’t have the largest humidor, or a huge selection, but the house blend cigar is pretty good. As Danny one of the regulars told me in his Dominican accent, «You home maine, You home.» LOL

Nice place, good cigars. Good spot to each sports and or just relax with a cigar. Best spot in that area

I found this joint on Unilocal while in the Washington Heights area. This was my first cigar lounge experience. Had a house blend that was recommended. Neat relaxing atmosphere with friendly clientele. Kicked back and enjoyed a Yankee game. Was unable to use the Unilocal offer due the undisclosed restrictions but still worth the experience. Don’t be intimidated by the neighborhood.

This cigar lounge is s nice relaxing place to enjoy one of your favorite cigars I went here last night had a good time the cigars are decently priced and its a byob place you only got to pay a $ 10 fee which is excellent a decent amount of seats but if you come on a Friday or Saturday night I would come early to get a good spot I would definitely recommend this establishment

I’m sitting in Papa Juan enjoying a house blend can’t get better then this. First timer, love the chill mode of the place. As soon as I walked in I was greeted at the door. Will return.

Nice, very relaxing place and fairly linear atmosphere so I would recommend Papa Juan’s when your on extreme«chill mode.» Customer service is cool, cigar selection is simple, and you can BYOB! Give Papa Juan’s a visit.

Really comfortable place to come in out of the cold and enjoy a cigar. Decent selection and good prices. There is no cutting fee when buying a cigar there but $ 8 if you want to bring your own. They do have memberships and it is BYOB. Local restaurants will also deliver there. Friendly staff and sometimes hard to get a seat.

I was told about Papa Juan’s through my cousin, who originally got me on the cigar train(so to speak). The location is convenient for me because it is on a near by train line that I can get on from work, and my favorite bar is a short walk away, The place is a BYOB establishment, but there is a small per person drinking fee(they do provide glasses and ice). The sticks are fairly priced, and if you bring your own sticks there is a cutting fee per cigar. HOWEVER, if you purchase one of their cigars, this fee is waived entirely. The atmosphere is very friendly, and if you go after work it’s basically empty. There have been times where we were the only patrons in the place. This is nice because you can really watch whatever you like, or request the type of music you’re into. They are very accomodating. The girls who work there are friendly, and easy on the eyes: o). Coming through the door, as you settle in, they welcome you in and offer to hang your coat. All of the times where I’ve brought in a new bottle, they’ve been attentive and kind enough to break open the bottle and poor the first drink. An extra step that has been noticed, appreciated, and in a way spoiled me(haha). The décor is what’s to be expected from a cigar room. Wood, leather, earthy feel. Now, why 4 and not 5 stars(I want to give a 4.5)…The service here has been great… however, as of recent(month or so) PJ’s has lost IMO their best hostess. The service received on my last visit was a bit lacking, given that there was barely anyone in the place. I don’t want to be too picky, but at first entry my cousin didn’t even think there was someone in the establishment(I guess she didn’t show and it seemed unattended.) Also, it did take a bit to grab the attention of someone just to get our tab. Call me spoiled, but when someone sets a standard, you come to expect that standard. Nonetheless, this is my favorite get away for the evening whenever I need a smoke. Walk in and check the place out. I’m sure you will have a good night.

Ladies! This is a hidden gem! Love being in a place I can calmly smoke my cigar without being harassed. It is a small yet comfortable place where you dont feel crowded at all. Each chair is very spacious and makes you feel you are powerful and in control. The place is not expensive in comparison to Club Macanudo and me and my friend smoke 2 cigars each and bought water bottles and it still came out to less than $ 50. This would NEVER happen elsewhere. The gents were watching the game on big screen and there are lots of regulars here. Don’t forget to tip the nice young lady working there.

Last night, my good friend and I had a great night here smoking cigars. This place does not serve food or alcoholic beverages, but for a nominal fee you can BYOB. Papa Juan is very classy place and the décor is very masculine. We are both females who like to smoke cigars so it is all good! The cigars are very reasonably priced. On Fridays, it is ladies night so we both received a free cigar. I highly recommend this place for a cigar lover. There are big screens tvs for your viewing pleasure and the regulars are pretty cool. I would definitely go back again!

Went there last night, 1−31−13 with 10 friends. This was all our first time. Not crowded which was great so we could all sit together. They are very accommodating and friendly at Papa Juan’s. This is a very comfortable lounge to smoke in. I did not try any of there cigars(brought my own) but they have a nice selection. If your ever in the area check out Papa Juan’s, I can assure you will enjoy yourself.

Came here on a wednesday night with my bf. We were warmly greeted by the owner– Whom I recognized from college. We felt very comfortable and at home due to the ambience and mature crowd. Wednesday nights are ladies night so ladies get a free house cigar! YUM! The owner allows you to bring your own liquor and cigar– You only have to pay a fee for the liquor bottle of your choice and a cutting fee for your personal cigar. Will be back very soon! This place rocks!

Had a really great night at PJ last evening. A short stop-in turned into an all-nighter, and I met a lot of great customers and staff. I learned about PFCR from friends up the street at Tonalli Café. I was shopping last night and suddenly remembered this place I had been told about. Kept my eyes open, and sure enough, found the place on the corner of B’way and 141. Am impressed with the cigars I purchased. The torpedo-shaped maduro(dark) was nice(bought three, and also received two complimentary PJ house blends). Also I like the idea of a BYOB club. Not sure I’ll use that feature much, but I think it’s good for the clientele and the neighborhood. PJ is doing Harlem and the Latino community proud. I’m honored to have them down the street. Normally I hang out at Nat Sherman and Cigar Inn at 71st. I like places where everyone is welcome and there are no «outsiders.» As a Norske/Kraut/Mick I could not have felt more at home. Was served well by a beautiful young lady who welcomed me and shared the specials and prices, and by the rest of the staff. So glad they have Wi-Fi. Every cigar room should do that. When I purchased my first stick, I invited a friend who didn’t show. It was no big deal. I had planned to get some work done at home, but the cigar totally chilled me out and gave me a vacation from my week. I did not want to leave. The prices are okay, not great, but are actually very worthwhile if you factor in the specials. I purchased three $ 11 sticks and also got two at no charge. Nice. I would appreciate some signage on the cigar boxes detailing price per stick, as well as the specials of the day. I always appreciate being able to shop without having to ask the price of each stick. But no big whoop. Looking forward to more evenings spent at PJ.(Maybe a few Saturdays?) And here’s a shout out to Samir, Ravi, Danny and the rest of .pk gang — from your« friend.» [“I have no reason to suppose that he who would take away my liberty would not, when he had me in his power, take away everything else.”]

I think this place just opened a couple months ago and I am by no means a cigar aficionado, actually had my first cigar here, but i really enjoyed it. It is BYOB so you can drink on the cheap, the servers, Marc and Phani, are super friendly, and the cigar I had, a Hispaniola, was very tasty. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

By far the most relaxed place located in harlem. I walked in and immediately was greeted at the door. Best hospitality ever. The place is very classy, comfortable, you feel right at home. I am not a cigar person, but after the manager Mark suggested a cigar, I was very pleased. I recommend everyone to go to Papa Juan’s and enjoy a great cigar, wine, and sports! You won’t regret it. Go and enjoy the music, cigars, sports and byob. I have been going back ever since my first visit.
