My delivery confirmation said it would take 30 – 40 minutes. I called after a little over 45 to inquire. The guy who answered told me the delivery guy had left like 20 minutes ago and said dismissively, «It should be there. It should be there.»(Correct, that was the problem!) Ten minutes later, going from hungry to hangry, I called to inquire again. The guy who answered said, «Okay, I’ll call the driver.»(Not sure why he called him a driver.) After a few minutes, he returned to the phone and huffed, «He said he’s downstairs!» As if it was my job to go out looking for him. «Why doesn’t he ring the bell?,» I asked. He said something in Spanish in the background. When he came back to the phone, I said, «It has been an hour. What is the problem?» He slammed the phone down. A minute later, the delivery guy buzzed and delivered my slightly-warmer-than-room-temperature pizza. I asked him what took so long. He said something unintelligible and walked away. I called the manager to complain. He was not rude, but he refused to refund my order. No one apologized to me. My pizza’s cheese had congealed, and it barely had any toppings on it. Gross. I think that is the last time I order from Papa’s.

Bad. Some Papa John’s pizza can be good but this is sub par. They are also not speedy. What’s worst, if they get your order wrong they don’t car and still charge you. A poorly run business. You are better off ordering from a local pizza joint which might be tastier, might be faster, and actually care about your business.

This is one of the few places in Manhattan that you can get pizza that’s NOT New York style pizza. Personally, I hate New York style pizza, so I’m stuck with the hassles of the worst Papa Johns in the nation. I order online so never deal with the actual people. The delivery time is NEVERUNDERANHOUR. The pie itself is usually of acceptable quality. As for the prices, I just shop for coupons because the retail prices are way too high.

Placed an order online, got a confirmation email stating the order would be delivered within 30 min. Called them one hour later and only then they started making our pizza :((after over 1.5-hour wait the delivered pizza was burned, cheese turned brown and the whole thing was hard. Unacceptable!!! Will never order from this place again!!!

I have ordered from Subway almost every week from and ever since I moved to the Upper West Side and have to order from this branch I have been consistently disappointed — and tonight I was disgusted. Orders have arrived without the chips, an hour late, and the sandwiches consistently arrive crumpled. Tonight was the last straw; our sandwiches arrived after a full hour, and mine looked like it had been run over by a truck. AND it was drenched in mayo(which I didn’t order) and onions(which I also didn’t order). When I called to ask for a new sandwich I was treated with incredible rudeness by the person who answered the phone(Tuesday 6⁄129:30PM). At first he barked at me that they were closed, and then he shouted at me to tell him what sandwich. In the middle of my speaking he interrupted me to tell me to hold, and I held for at least 5 minutes. I finally lost my patience and hung up. I’m done.

I never actually go to the restaurant but we order frequently from there. We ordered from them on superbowl and yes, the order took over an hour but hey, they mailed us a free medium pizza for the delay. Great customer service, the best pizza chain in the US, great deals online. If you are going to order online, don’t forget to join the Papa Points program, spend $ 5 for 1 points and 25 points gets you a free large pizza with 3 toppings(Spend $ 125 with them for a free large pizza.) Not sure how it happened but we have 3 free pizza already!

I am a pizza fan and usually stay away from chains, but Papa johns is pretty good and the staff that I deal with are always friendly. Also, the Subway store is connected so the family can get whatever they want.

I am a huge fan of Papa John’s when it comes to chain pizza places. I am a sucker for the garlic dipping sauce that comes with the pizza. I actually usually order extra… The price was fantastic. They have a deal now that’s up to 7 toppings, large pie for $ 10. We tipped $ 3 and spent less than $ 15 for a pizza. Score! Anyway so we ordered online and it said 30 – 45 min and came in about 15 minutes. It was hot and delicious when it arrived. It’s thicker crust, standard chain restaurant pizza. It was WAY better than Dominos(umm that new recipe is NOT working for them) and better than the UNO too. We still like Ray’s better but that’s kind of a given being such a NYC staple. For cheap, good pizza with super yummy garlic dipping sauce, go for Papa John’s.

I’ve never actually visited this store, only ordered delivery. To that effect, I’ve never even called them – I order online from their website. Nothing I’ve ordered has ever come incorrectly, which is really the only good thing I can say about them. Stuff usually isn’t very hot by the time they get to me, and I don’t live that far away. I used to live 14 blocks from them and now I live 8, and while they come faster, the food’s still cold. The e-mail they send me always says 30 – 40 minutes, but I’d say they average a pretty good 25 – 35. I’m experimenting between putting in the tip beforehand versus handing them cash at the door, and so far, not giving a tip until they get here yields faster results. Who knows. With so many other better options in the neighborhood, I really only order from here when I’m craving Papa John’s and their garlic sauce.

Update/Apologia: Turns out Papa Doc, urm, John was sending us coupon codes for our previous address… in NC. Once that was corrected and we were receiving NYC promo codes, everything was fine and dandy. Clearly, I’ve taken back the part about never ordering from them ever again. The Pizza? Papa John’s — you know what you’re going to get and get what you pay for. Delivery experiences follow the plenitude principle. — — — — — — — I wish I could give them NO stars. I have coupons mailed in to my home address constantly, INMYNAME even, and the coupon codes for the website DONOTWORK. You can call the store with the code, but they will act as if they have no idea what the coupon offers are. Finally I called the«online ordering support group»(their totally un-ironic term, not mine.) Support group guy apologized that the NYC franchise operator submits the codes to the advertising division, but they never seem to send them to the website division to actually make them valid. He actually ASKEDME what the code and offer were so they they could enter it into their system, and could I log out and try logging in 10 minutes later once they upload the code to the server, FAIL. Papa John’s should keep a better eye on their NYC franchisee, because I was a loyal, regular customer in another state for over 15 years. What the hell, am I now ordering pizza from the mob? I will NOT be ordering another pizza from Papa John’s as long as I live in NYC. Save yourself a lot of hassle and order from somewhere else.

i would give them negative stars if i could. coupon comes in mail, pizza and chicken strips for $ 14.99. i call and order(my 2nd and last time) but they cant find the coupon. put me on hold twice. new person answers phone, cant find coupon. i give coupon code and they finally say they found it. order comes 30 min later w/out the chicken strips. delivery dude says to call papa johns about it. i call and lady says she will send it out. waited an hour and a half(was watching movie) and called back saying i still didnt get the chicken strips. lady was surprised, i asked to be reimbursed just for the strips. said she couldnt do it. i ask why and she said the order says just medium pizza, no chicken strips. i got charged more than $ 14.99($ 17 something) cuz no coupon code was used. so i just asked to be charged just for the coupon amount which i felt was REALLY reasonable. it was just $ 2 but i never want to be over-charged when it wasnt my mistake. lady says she cant do it, only the boss can. i ask to speak to the boss and she says shes the boss right now. at this point im thinking WTF, just charge me the coupon amount and lets be done w/it, i dont want the freakin chicken strips now! i asked why im being charged for more than what i ordered. she said that i only ordered the medium pizza and that she was doing me a favor by sending the chicken strips on the house. 1. the chicken strips never made it and 2. i ordered w/the coupon for the pizza and strips. i tell her that they made a mistake and that it wasnt my fault. she got defensive and said«she» didnt take the order. omg, i dont care if it was her or not and she really didnt understand my side or she was just too lazy to make any changes. i ask who her supervisor is, gives me the name richard. then i ask for her name, she hesitates and then hangs up. richard, i hope you read this message and fire her ass, whoever was working and was«in charge» at 11:30pm on sunday march 29th.

This is actually a Combo Papa John’s /Subway restaurant now. But still the service kinda sucks on both ends… The Papa John’s line is always longer than it has to be and takes forever to get a couple slices of pizza. It’s like the cashiers are learning to count for the first time. And as far as Subway… they are as well slow, but more so, ridiculously inconsistent. The same sandwich I always order never comes out the same. The menu in every Subway is the same, and their menu doesn’t change much. What’s the deal?

Piece of advice. Don’t eat Papa John’s cheesy-bread and an entire pepperoni pizza @ 2am after drinking a gallon of Guinness unless you a.) sleep alone and b.) have a bathroom close by.
