Beauty best describes one’s first impression with this church. The neo-​gothic façade dating to the late 19th century is a gateway to a long, warm colored vestibule with arch ceilings. Stepping through the mahogany door with carved cherubim at the end of the vestibule, under the watchful eye of Christ, you enter the magnificent temple itself. Breathtaking. The services are all chanted and sung, and you stand surrounded by icons illumine do by vigil lamps and beeswax candles. The wiff of fragrant incense fills the air, waifting heavenward to the beamed wooden ceiling. A wonderful place. Visit if you can. It’s Christian worship as it is meant to be experienced.
